Everything Andy and the other gentleman says it’s all subjective. It doesn’t matter until we get to November. Worry not people, lots of football to still play.
What I took from that bama vs georgia game (and the UK before that) is that georgia is not as good as they were. Bama is very good, but undisciplined. We'll see how this all plays out (and I'm writing this so y'all can keep receipts if i'm wrong) but I'm fairly certain georgia gets their wheels blown off by texas and beats tennessee in a very close game. Tennessee also loses big to alabama. My final prediction for 12 team is (in no particular order) - Bama (12-1, Texas loss in championship) -Texas (13-0, SEC Champ) - OSU (13-0, B10 Champ) - Miami (12-2, probably some stupid loss, loses to clemson) - Clemson (12-1, ACC champ) - BYU (10-2, B12 Champs) - Boise St. (At large Go5) - Penn St. (11-1) - Oregon (11-2, OSU loss twice) - Georgia (10-2) - Tennessee (10-2) - USC (10-2) Last one could be Indiana (10-2) or ole miss (10-2) instead of USC, i believe they take USC after they beat Notre dame though, with their only loss to Michigan (9-3) on the road and Penn St., however Ole miss will also be 10-2 with losses to georgia and kentucky and Indiana will also likely lose to a 'lower ranked' michigan team and get stomped by OSU which will look bad at the end of the year due to recency bias.
Clemson is always going to be favored to win ACC. Miami hasn’t done it yet so of course people will say Clemson will win. Clemson also looks like the better team atm
I would almost put OSU at number one because Alabama let Georgia back in that game. That's a part of it. And that doesn't make OSU the best team in the country but I don't know man it's so early in the season who cares anyway😅
Recency bias plays a lot in clunker assessment. Miami's clunker is more recent than Clemson's, the quality of the clunker is also questionable so it seems fair. How about this for a hugely unlikely scenario that I hadn't noticed or considered pre-season. The way the ACC set up their schedules somehow Clemson, Miami, and SMU don't play each other. I don't know how I view SMUs season outlook, or what anyone else thinks about it, but I do remember pre-season pointing to certain games I thought they'd definitely be underdogs in, and others that they were definitely be able to surprise people. To me their dark horse status is on the rise, and their BYU loss isn't looking to crumbly right now considering how they're doing so far this season. Louisvile likely plays the classic ACC spoiler in this potential scenario I cooked up, as they play all three of these teams, but if they're unable to recover from their ND loss (I actually anticipate them playing with greater fervor against SMU this weekend, but who knows, SMU seems to want to surprise me) they could easily lose to all three. What happens in a scenario where Miami, Clemson, and SMU are all undefeated in ACC play? I looked up the tie breakers and I think it's either up to total W-L of all ACC opponents, but it might just go to a random selection. How fun would it be to see the ACC squirm with an undefeated Miami team miss out on the ACC title game because all the conference's tie breakers didn't break the tie against SMU and Clemson, and those two 1 loss teams got randomly selected to the ACC title game. It's the most improbably outcome, but the fact that it could happen is...well it's proof that not having divisions is idiotic, and also proof that the ACC can still ACC with the best of itself and I'm here for it.
Clemson vs UGA klunker is better than Miamis because let's not get it confused Clemson held GA to 6 points first half. If the defense didn't get worn down it wouldve been a closer game. Also Clemson is using different plays and better personnel since that Georgia lost and its showing on the scoreboard
Yeah, and when Miami gets their star players back, then Miami will have the better personnel. Remember what Hurricane Bain did last year to you guys? You're going to tell me he's not going to make a difference? Yeah that's what I thought. Miami's ceiling is still higher than Clemson's when they meet.
@@BlaccOut how will they do that? Explain. You did nothing to make that argument. Lol. I guess you aren’t very good at debating my dude. Bring some info my dude.
In terms of actual ability I would agree with you, but I just think with ranking bias that there is no scenario where you will ever find a G5 team seeded in the top 4 unless they beat a team that is a P4 champion. If you look at history for the last 25+ years there has really only been 3-4 teams in the top 4 as G5 team and one of them (21 UC) id argue the committee only put them into the top 4 because of two losses by Oklahoma state as a stipulation. The only G5 teams historically that were top 4 and it wasnt even disputed (because the actual dispute was should they be #1 in the nation) is 2009 TCU, 2010 TCU and 2010 Boise State all of whom were ranked in the top 4 for most of the entire season. And if you compare G5 teams today to the level of play those teams played at - IT AINT EVEN CLOSE....... - All of these teams beat 3+ top 25 teams - All of them beat P5 division or conference champions - All of them ranked top 4 in both offense and defense - All of them maintained a minimum 29+ average margin of victory per game
@@MattBuild4 right I understand it’s not likely that they’re actually RANKED top 4, but they could be seeded top four if there is a major upset in the conference championships because they are making the top four conference champs the top four seeds. Most years, it will be the loser of the SEC championship. Which does not make them better off in the playoffs because they have to play the conference championship game
"Lay up decision"? Texas and Ohio State have a veteran, explosive, and complete teams. For Bama, with their complete lack of a running game to magically jump to #1, is laughable.
