I used to do something very similar in Maya; I'd manually parent objects into a semi hierarchy, and then just rotate when required, clicking on the nulls. The fact that this essentially automates the process makes me very, very happy!
i worked a little bit for commercial project with blender plus blenderkit, and as i see its a form of a good manners to group meshes by parenting to empties, so its very nice tool here!!
Good stuff as usual. Something I noticed: 1. I wouldn't recommend scaling the groups, if you just want to see them bigger. Instead you should increase the empty draw size. 2. You can set the default empty draw size (on group creation), in the addon prefs. If you liked this, then you will love 1.7. Would be cool if you could make a video on the group and pose related updates :) Let me know if you want early access.
Thanks for the video! Very useful for my Battletech project :) Any ideas on how to automatically bend the corrugation in the joints of Space Marine armor?
Thanks. As for the mesh I find it easier to see. I also seem to find (though this is totally anecdotal) that my eyes feel less "tired" after modelling for a long time, maybe because it less extreme a contrast than the light grey against the dark background.
Very cool. But between "show group gizoms" and "set recall" there's a button for "global". I'd expect that to avoid having the gizmos rotate on the local axis?
HI! How do I hide the groups? With collections, you could toggle on/off the visibility of one particular collection and all objects would be hidden too. If I do that with groups it doesn't work. I also couldn't find someone hiding the groups while they were working. Thanks for this video!

I heard it was a little maya like. Good to hear the rumours are true. 👍🏻

It really does help and it gives a really nice "flow"/hierarchy to work with.

Thanks for the tips 👍🏻. I'd love to see what's coming and to do an update if that's possible. Should I drop you a message on Blender Market?
@@ArtisansofVaul Sure, BM works, email works. I should get you into my discord too, if you want.
Just what I needed. And I don’t even know MachineTools can do this. Thx for this👍
My pleasure. It's a bit for a hidden gem.
thank oyu! really nice channel man
😁 Cheers
Cool, but it would be nice if the empty is generated in the center or the pivot of the last mesh selected
@@mauriciosevilla174 I agree it would be really good if that was an option.
Awesome to see more than one way to make a rig
Cheers Richard. Yeah, as always there are multiple ways to do things in Blender, each with their own features/positives/negatives
YESS! :D
😁😁😁
Now updated for multiple poses.
I haven't had a chance to look into that. I'm really excited about it!

That's tougher. I normally get a bit lazy and do it this way and then just do it manually with a lattice.
Why do you use that reddish style to the mesh?
Nice video 🎉

Oh how did I miss that all this time 🤦 I'll try that out

It's in the menu in the n panel
