He is just so brillant. Technically perfect .. full of ideas ... changing style, harmonisations, rhythms whenever appropriate ... never relying on speed or effect ... Superb ...
The amazing Gyuri Villas -- very true. This guy IS amazing -- and I've been playing jazz piano for almost 60 years, so I make that statement with confidence.
Hallo! Ich bin echt fasziniert von Ihnen! Schön das es so ein großes Talent auch in Deutschland gibt. Haben Sie schon eine CD rausgebracht?? Ich würde sie vll kaufen. MfG Paul
He’s a damn sight better than 99% of jazz pianists nowadays - me included and I’ve been a jazz pianist in a hotel for the last ten years who can play any style to a high level. He’s not claiming to be art Tatum but what he does is of an exceptional level
jad1460 you know this has a lot of feeling you just can't hear it, or don't really want to because you already had your judgement on the guy before even really listening to him. this is one of my favourite version of autumn leaves on the internet, behind bill evans' version, but i want to say to the guy behind the piano, keep it going you sound awesome i really enjoy listening to you!
I look at it more as a way to get more people to watch their video rather than taking it literally. It's understandable and justified, since people who listen to OP listen to jazz piano in general.
I have this version was playing by Roger Williams. But, I like your own version too. Sounds more happier and totally awesome. Can you play "Each His Own" by Roger Williams? I found it on album "Greates Popular Pianist" that was released in 1992. Plzzzzzz????? heheheheh.., you're rock, man!!!!!
Wow! Ich bin ehrlich zu dir..your father has some odd, but perfect skills! His finger technique is just outstanding. Do you know if your father educated at any professional music school or is he ''self taught?'' Tnx for giving such wonderful music to me!! =D
it's about the content, the artistry, and the innovation... this guy is good and i do not in anyway doubt that. But just because he can play well and he's got some fast runs doesn't put him on a level anywhere near peterson. No matter how good i'll get, i'd never say i'm like peterson because I would have to make some huge innovations in jazz... and by then i'd be like ME, not anybody else.
17 actually...i'll post a video in a few weeks =) ah yeh i taught him EVERYTHING haha!(again joking...) he has such flare though...sorta reminds me of Art a bit
i find it amazing a few here compare him to peterson or tatum... i mean come on, calm down... how does he sound with a trio, how would he sound after recording for over 50yrs... his left hand is no where near the level of peterson, he's playing is good, but would have been nice to bring in some stride... how can you compare him to tatum or peterson when you've only heard him play one tune?
Why is the words "Oscar" and "Peterson" in your tags? This guy is really good.......but he has a style of his own....And sounds NOTHING like Oscar P. Cheers
sick tune! love it! I think this will be another beast for me to tackle in the future. check out my channel though. I play guitar piano and sing and I will make sure I upload a weekly tune or piece. would appreciate some feedback as im trying to expand my audience. thanks!
haha i'm not arguing for oscar peterson, he's not even in my top 10 pianists that i listen to... and i'm a jazz major. That still doesn't mean he's on oscar peterson's level.
i've been listening to peterson since i was about 10, i've also played jazz piano for around 20 yrs... you put peterson on such a high pedestal it implies no one can ever match up... not true, tatum was - probably - better and garner was up there with him; i wud have said monty alexander in the late 70's early 80's was as good; many wud say keith jarrett and michel camilo are technically better than peterson; the guy here is amazing and technically has a lot of potential
fair points, i remember reading an album note by michel petrucciani who said he learnt to play just like peterson by the age of ten, which i found insulting. you speak of content, artistry and innovation yet this guy demostrates all these attributes in this vid. actually, to correct you, peterson wasnt greatly innovative, he always played it safe, using a trio format for over 50yrs, playing stride he didnt invent, later employing harmonies from evans, his runs were mostly penatonic based
He is just so brillant. Technically perfect .. full of ideas ... changing style, harmonisations, rhythms whenever appropriate ... never relying on speed or effect ... Superb ...

you know what solo piano is about.
time and rythmn.
Wow! Ich bin ehrlich zu dir..your father has some odd, but perfect skills! His finger technique is just outstanding. Do you know if your father educated at any professional music school or is he ''self taught?'' Tnx for giving such wonderful music to me!! =D
very cool
Would love to see this guy with a great drummer and double bass-player!
wow. If I'm ever in Germany, I'm totally there. Was your father classically trained?? My god, he's a monster!
aWESOME :d
yes he was
i taught him everything he needed to know...
Hungarian gypsies are master musicians. And this video proves it.
♥
Utter bastard! because, he makes it look effortless. (gosh, he's just fabulous)
wow amazing!!!! of course much better that oscar peterson!
fuck man... i wanna jam with this guy

Great! That's all I needed. I paid good money for a grand piano and it doesn't sound like that.
(do you think it's me? really? no way!)
the truth is this guy is amazing, if peterson was sitting there playing this everyone would say how amazing is was
17 actually...i'll post a video in a few weeks =)
ah yeh i taught him EVERYTHING haha!(again joking...)

mind a kettöt nagyon jol ismerem de ök sztárok én meg nem:D
* * * * *
you cant´t compare him to the genius Oscar Peterson; that would be a big insult to Oscar
Why is the words "Oscar" and "Peterson" in your tags?
This guy is really good.......but he has a style of his own....And sounds NOTHING like Oscar P.
Cheers
Unfortunetly,he is Hungarian - as me.And here, the better you are, less wanted by those, who "rule" this style in this country...
sick tune! love it! I think this will be another beast for me to tackle in the future. check out my channel though. I play guitar piano and sing and I will make sure I upload a weekly tune or piece. would appreciate some feedback as im trying to expand my audience. thanks!

Very very good - but not peterson, i don't think it was right to compare him to Oscar
blinding
hahaha yeah, i was like "i hope this guy doesn't know what he's talking about..." since what i said was much more fitting of a bud powell or monk.
yeh sounds bout right lol...he doesn't look like art though so you couldn't mistake them for each other haha
it's fake :-(
no one has THAT good "touch"
I'm going to rate down JUST because you claim to be playing like "oscar peterson"... wishful thinking.
i think technically he has the potential to be; maybe not as fast, but its not all about speed
i've been listening to peterson since i was about 10, i've also played jazz piano for around 20 yrs... you put peterson on such a high pedestal it implies no one can ever match up... not true, tatum was - probably - better and garner was up there with him; i wud have said monty alexander in the late 70's early 80's was as good; many wud say keith jarrett and michel camilo are technically better than peterson; the guy here is amazing and technically has a lot of potential

his playing is nothing like powell or monk.... lets not chat anymore, i think you're slightly out of your depth
