Cooler than the other side of the pillow.
It is impossible to say it better than you did. Oh man, thank you.
@@ADK53 I know. I'm going to steal that. When the moment is right, I'm going to say to some friends, "Yeah, that was cooler than the other side of the pillow." I remember those days, before a/c.
Lol, nice one.
I worked with Count Basie in 1970 for 3 months on the Tom Jones tour in 1970..... an amazing gentleman !
Lies
@@Jedisithlord1210 yeah man what a stinky liar
How cool is that Tony! Good memories I’m sure
listening with my son Geoffrey age 6 and he says this music is amazing!!!!
+jlj5056 Good for your son. Developing good taste since a young age.
Give him an instrument please
Two geniuses having a great time .. My god, they make it look so easy ..
Peter Vikegard ain't it the truth!
True🌺
I see 4 geniuses...👍
Exact mais c est si difficile
With such great pianists you almost forget the awesome job the rythm section is doing. Pederson really grooved with Oscar.
Pederson holds these two masters together. He is awesome.
What I love about this interpretation is, unlike most piano duos, Basie and Peterson respect each other's musical space and leave room in the piece. They don't clash. They don't fight for supremecy. They work together perfectly in harmony.
If you have seen the show from which that clip originates, you may find it warming to see how similar their personalities are to how they play.
Peterson is intelligent and full of ideas yet Basie says very little, but makes it Count...
I know it's been 13 years but i appreciate that little joke at the end so much
@@Sarm8still good 13 years later
I remember seeing Count and Coltrane playing duo in 1983. One of the best nights of my life. I never heard John sound so good
That's an unexpected collaboration!
Oscar is one of the greatest ever... always a pleasure as to listen as to play.
Best of ever..
no flaws. perfection. I wish they could have lived forever.
What a wonderful artists, two masters of piano and Jazz!.
God save them!.
It was said before, and I second it... Elegant. Just elegant!
Easier to enjoy this performance than finding the right words to comment it ,isn't it ? ^^
Two of the masters. I've played their recordings many times on my radio show. Keep posting the good music!
If you ever wondered if it was possible to have a full conversation without saying a word, we just witnessed it. Wonderful from start to finish.
I hope the pianos in heaven are constantly tuned and always available for them.
Looking forward to future concerts.
thank you great Master
Excellent performance˙˙˙˙˙
Now this is called "good Music " I was brought up on this kind of this jazz, I love to hear piano music.
Charlotte Davis i
Simply the best ever
This just makes me smile.
it's magical and beautiful
I happened to be at a special midnight concert of the Basie Orchestre at Ronnie Scott's Club and Oscar was in the front row - he watched Count like a hawk throughout the two hour concert - especially when Count played a solo. Now the brag: I got Oscar's autograph!!!
you know --nothing in the world compares to this! AND THE GREAT THING IS -THESE GUYS KNOW IT AND IT IS SOOOOOO EASY!
Jammin' !!!! This is music that you FEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLL !!! Not just hear.........
simply beautiful
goose bumps over here
all are gone to the great music in the sky and have left their legacy for us all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OP is a unique performer. He creates a pleasant and relaxed, confident atmosphere.
And all this, in addition to his superb piano playing.
As if they were talking to each other, but using music! Awesome stuff, couldn't ask any more then them two playing together! Wish there were more musician that could play like this today!
Thank god. Someone else who thinks that there is no training like this anymore. In my opinion, learning music at school today is nothing more than learning science.
Both have gone, But will remain forever !
I love Oscar, he's probably the best jazz pianist since Art Tatum. Mr. Basie had so much class - the elegant walking stick leaned against the keyboard, the perfectly manicured hands and the deft, sublime touch he had on the piano. They don't them like these two anymore.
Awesome. What a treat.
it's ridiculous how good this is.
Thanks, Upright. I love to play with upright basses nothing in the world sounds like them.
They enjoy the music they play. It must be real happiness
i wish i had one of them as my grandfather....
The music makes me want to pull out my whiskey and just start drinking the night and all of my worries away.
que cosa más fantástica, gracias, muchas gracias
Pure magic !
This golden jazz!
I love it ,Great

Phenomenal!!
Oscar and Count at their best, ladies and gentlemen.
Like this music ,cool.
Jazz is America's classical music. It was invented in America and exported all over the world.
Holy Moly. Sweet.
2 great master musicians playing the blues. If you are going to be a jazz musician you must learn to play the blues.
The audience people have done good in their previous lives! they are with the gods!
Masterclass in jazz/blues phrasing/harmony.
Wish there was a proper recording of this on deezer. So special!
Two Kings!!!!
so niceee !!
@FlamesCapsFinal
This isn't available on DVD - its from a BBC TV show in the late 70's or early 80's, which hasn't been made available commercially. Unless you happened to record it on the day or catch a repeat showing (rare) you'll have to rely on people posting on sites like this.
calm and cool....
love this
the best part is that you can see a rare dialogue beetwen musicans
Count BASIE SOLO - AMAZING
@moradordobrooklin Actually it was Oscar Peterson & Count Basie given.
i love peterson!
this is so epic!
Cool! I love it! I've got a number of guitar movie way too.
Luv it
happy new year and merry Christmas :D
Vivirán eternamente junto a nosotros!
How can 22 people say that they DON´T like this???
Incredible. They must be Lady Gaga´s fans...
pefection
thanks sherlock....
Your english is great! Don't worry about it :)
Fantastic Video also, two greats playing :D

Well... let's just keep the faith... hopefully the Giants of the 21st Century are out there... probably still developing... this Century is only 8 Years old, we still have time...

@syke77 Bravo to you my fellow Canadian.syke77 Our importance in the entertainment field as with almost all else is growing rapidly and neither knows nor has any bounds.
.
Absolutely the coolest vibe-can't beat it.this is what real music is all about-is this particular piece available on any CD?thank you so much for uploading this
Michel Petrucciani was amazingly gifted too...
@suispasla A lot of things in America had to do with the way jazz turned out to be. Even before the Civil War, before slavery was abolished, some of jazz's biggest traits originated from "worksongs," like the call-and-answer, leniency on pitch that paved the way for how smooth Jazz can be, and its own way of the art of expression Marching bands that participated in the Civil War provided the foundation in which ragtime was based on.
DOS INIGUALABLES ETERNOS ,GENIOS .-.-.-.-
muito foda!!!
yes
nice
Poetry in Ebony and Ivory. 💙
@urzkiburzki The one withe the mustache is Count Basie, the gigantic guy is Oscar Peterson ;)
