    I subscribed. Well- "revolver" and RDR were released in my twenties and thirties, respectively, RD2 when I was 40. So, if I somehow live to be 50, maybe I'll see RDR3. I honestly really hope that they go back in time with a next installment; this series is supposed to be a Western series, and I don't want to see some 1920's hamster era Red Dead. I'd rather see a Golden Era game, maybe starring Arthur's dad, or maybe even something about the pioneers and the unconquered tribes.

    I like to think he started as an outlaw after Ross but got captured around the time of the First World War. Of course a government at war probably would not want such a competent gunslinger to just be executed so I would think they would offer him a pardon if he fought in the war. During the war he saw so much death and violence that he finally managed to renounce it and become a writer after.

    The idea of Jack fighting in World War 1 is actually not as far-fetched as it might sound, because during the days of outlaw Butch Cassidy, there were many outlaws who went into that to that conflict, and by all accounts Butch seriously considered joining himself, as a way to earn a pardon, until he realized hed more than likely be serving alongside many of the lawmen who wanted to capture him, hence he backed out.
    I believe the conflict at that time, and I cant remember the name of it, but it involved Teddy Roosevelt's "Rough Riders", and San Juan Hill.

    My personal theory which combines parts of all of them is that Jack drifted as a minor criminal for a few years, living recklessly and nihilistically. Captured for such petty crimes after the activation of WWI era conscription, he gets put into the army initially against his will, having no love for the government. Nevertheless, being among a greater selection of his peers than ever before proves actually beneficial for his mental health, leading him to get a grip on some meaning in his life and settle into the life of an author after the war.

    • @twinphalanx4465
      @twinphalanx4465 5 месяцев назад +4

      That's my theory as well, I'd love a game where we actually see the last bits of jacks life, maybe he attempts to right some of the wrongs of his father, but mostly keep it his story, really show the turning of the page and that Jack is trying to listen to his grandfather Aurther the world's changing around him and he can only do what he can do for the people he has come to care for (I'd assume his unit) perhaps they abandoned their post really showing the point that Jack really does want to be that Lancelot type similar to dutch but trying it his own way.
      Imo it would also be nice to get a stranger mission where Jack retraces johns journey after he was abandoned after the train heist maybe he'd even see some echos of John (probably hallucinations) and over the course of the story he's writing, and at the end of the game it could end with Jack being the author of the red dead series having actually retraced Ross Milton and the gangs steps trying to understand just how everything went, he'd probably remember most of the locations he could just be writing an autobiography.

    I think you all forgot that you see already how Jack lifes like:
    A gunslinger with great capabilities, they not come only from genetics - somehow he got alot of practice by "living targets".
    Iam pretty sure to the day he revenged his father, he was not a criminal like Mikah, but also not clean like an office Strauss:
    It is very likely that he become a head hunter a few years after the dad of John, thats why he is not tied to a gang, but still had this abilities.
    Even it would be a cool outcome if he fight in WW1, but i dont think so.
    Personally i think Jack had a mental breakdown after killing Ross, lifing years lonely and start to write books, which become famous and having a normal life as pretty strong and weird man.
    He fullfilled somewhere else with a beautiful woman, maybe deep in Alaska the dream of John, Writer an Farmer, lifing peacefull and give a shit of the goverment or the rotten society.
    The day he shot Ross, was the day he ended the legacy of the Vanderlinde Gang and his life as western outlaw.

  • @ORLY911
    @ORLY911 7 месяцев назад +44

    I think the answer i arrive at is, after killing Ross, he really does leave it all behind him, and just keeps working as a farmer at Beecher's Hope. Uses some of his spare time to write a book about his time in the gang and his short stint as a gunslinger to avenge his father, lot of people from the west would go to write book in the 20th century and they were popular reads, i don't see Jack not doing this who already had a profound interest in reading and history as is.

    I like to think he became an author and that the games we played ' RDR 1&2 ' was actually Jacks books retelling the story of his family and their friends and enemies.
    I'd like to think that he got away with what he did, mainly because that the remote area it took place in had plenty of animals that would have cleaned it up and also seemed to still have plenty of shadey individuals that wouldn't think twice to go after an older person out their by themselves.
    Perhaps he even made a family and he tells stories to his family of the things that he has been through or the things his dad and Morgan went through. I am sure he got John's journel and Arthur's as well..

  • @NhBleker

    I'd like to think that he would've gone on to have fought in both world wars and became a decorated marine or navy seal of some sorts, while also having to deal with the spanish flu, great depression, and etc. He'd managed to live a comfortable life around the 1950 and early 60s before passing away, in that time becoming a successful and decorated author. Charles said it best in that he's going to have it hard, and yes he would've in living through one of the darkest periods in human history.

    A Public Enemies styled spin-off game staring Jack would be awesome.
    Have a cameo of Midwest America in the depths of the depression era crime spree with a 38 year old Jack torn between the man he wants to be versus the legacy of his fathers past.
    Add some ptsd from both his father dying and service in WW1 for more character development.
    Ad an adversary character as well but a man of principle and virtue. A Melvin Purvis styled FIB agent approaches him at his father's farm.
    He is investigating the cold case muder of Edgar Ross in Mexico.
    A man of honor, the game centers around the two men struggling with duty versus reality, for Jack duty to the positive side of his fathers memory. Torn between his fathers past which started to bleed into his life with the murder of Ross.
    For the Purvis character, the tear between what is morally right versus what his ambitious J. Edgar Hoover styled Bureau director's at any cost sometimes shady practices.
    Man just think about it ; cars, horses, and Tommy guns and BARs with dead eye.
    I can see such a game being a great addition to this Unniverse.

And then get says it. "That was your father ya know..." and he walks away. My theory is Jack ended up settling in Saint Denis beoming a major player in the city as one of the early american gangsters catching the attention of the fbi after completing the biggest heist since the 1899 Van der Linde gang robbery, which sets ups his origins of his move up north to RDR3's version of Missouri in an area similar to new hanover with a city similar to st louis or kansas city. He became petty hustler for a good amount of years before scamming an fbi agent who recognizes him. Causing Jack to flee to RDR3'S version of Chicago before being caught soon as he gets there because of new telephone technology . The "chicago" fbi agent offers Jack a deal to be free if he takes down a mob boss for him . Jack accepts which makes him a "chicago gangster" in the late 1920s or early 30s. He succeeded but his "gang" found out about his cooperation with the FBI and he flees driving down route 68 somewhere far west. He ends up taking his money from the old life to fund writing and publishing the book he always wanted to write, which up being the Red Dead book written by J. Marston in GTA V. This book caused the fall of the FBI and the new agency being created, the FIB. RED DEAD REDEMPTION....

    The book in GTA V is definitely just an easter egg. GTA and Red Dead take place in different universes. The biggest tell tale sign? New York City exists in Red Dead. It does not in GTA, instead being called, as everyone here should know, Liberty City.

    If RDR 3 ever happens I feel like we should go back to the golden age of the old west Im talking like the 1830's and 1840's. We dont play as Arthur but a whole new character. If you go back in time in the RDR universe it was an even more savage time period and lands were much more wild and untamed too.But back to the video Idk where Jack went after RDR1 maybe hes alive somewhere and taking it easy and writing books for kids or sadly like u said he might have killed himself knowing his whole family is now dead and buried.
    Thiers also a theory he went back to his ranch and started farming again to make some money for himself and probably lives alone now like a hermit.The same could also be said for Red Harlow from Red Dead Revolver as he just vanished too after his game as well.

  • @redt8311
    @redt8311 6 месяцев назад +4

    Personally I want a Rdr Game exploring Jack going on the run for killing edger. We pick up a few weeks after he killed him and we tell that story.
    The game world of 1911 and 1914 in rdr1 looks and behaves the exactly same way. So even by rockstars own timeline it seems the old West is still not dead yet. So we got some story room for Jack in an old west environment and we could also use Mexico as well.
    Ww1 is just an event could easily be mentioned in the newspapers only. WW1 started in July 1914 and ended in November 1918. America itself didn’t join the war until April 1917 but regardless ww1 was never at any point fought on American soil. So the entire war is really a non-issue if we want to keep the entire game strictly western based.
    As for the Mafia angle well.. nothing really demands jack story needing to told from that angle either. As far as the rdr franchise is concerned, the mafia has existed at least since 1899, so you could argue the setting years in rdr2 and rdr1 could just as easily have been used to tell a purely mafia story. Mafia with horses in 1899, mafia with cars in 1907/1911. So unless you choose to set a Jack story in a big city somewhere there’s no reason why the game needs to be mafia styled. Especially considering westerns primarily take place in the rural west, rural Mexico and the actual wilderness.
    But regardless none of the theories or Easter eggs about what happens to Jack after are actually confirmed Canon. Rockstar has never once confirmed anything about him after rdr1. But Even *if* the stuff was true I would like to see how Jack managed to have a good life despite him killing edger in 1914. We already know they would be an extensive investigation attached to the death of retired top brass agent. Especially considering in the RDR franchise “Actions have consequences” and “revenge is a fools game”.

      Happy to see somebody has finally said this. I also toyed with idea of Jack on the run for killing Ross. I also feel like a sequel would also properly close out the trilogy instead of going back in time. It could pay homage to previous Red Dead characters by having them featured in flashback sequences, but it won’t be fully focused on what came before.

    You grow up in traumatic experiences. For me it was mostly emotional abuse and neglect. Society has a way of telling you that you can't be traumatized by certain things. Either that or you grow up and you really think you don't have any problems or anything. However, trauma is a bitch and something that hides. Your brain hides it to protect itself but in doing so it perpetuates the trauma. You don't process it and it stays hidden and to only come out in the worst ways possible.

    Mexican revolution started in 1910-1917, it was obviously unheard of by him by the time his father was killed.
    World war 1 was 1914-1918. This fits more if Abigail was dead soon after. Serving world war 1 after getting his revenge couod be his catharsis to secure the idea he never nurdered anyone before. Or been in any kind of gunfight or had anything to do with weapons.

    Plotting for RDR3: tie up the worlds of Grand Theft Auto III and rdr2 buy having the government use the mafia to try to kill Jack because he knows the dirty secret of how his dad was used by the government and then killed. They want to kill him before he publishes his book which is the journals of Arthur and John. You can see the book Red Dead Redemption on the Shelf in Michael's house in Grand Theft Auto V. For those of you who are too young to remember Grand Theft Auto III started out with a mafia family that can be an extension of the Mafia Family in rdr2
