I loved all the camera angles in the first race. Especially the one from the leader’s boot looking back on you stalking your way closer. Hopefully more races of that kind that are worthy of seeing a multitude of viewpoints will be happening.
I do wish Steve would set his game to performance mode so when we get these nice replay angles it stays at 60 fps instead of dipping to 30. I know I'm sensitive to this but it's so jarring.
It was pretty clear the reason the other guy was inconsistent is due to being on controller, you can see it with their movements, lots of little sharp movements makes it hard to be consistent on controller.
It was his own fault. He made multiple mistakes due to how hard he was pushing, which is fair enough, but that last corner he had already lost the position and had he just backed out a little he would have finished second. Trying to keep position was only ever gonna end up this way. Sometimes it is better to just accept a loss of position than risk it all and end up further down the field.
Some sketchy defending at times, I thought. Some of those blocks were too late. If you're moving to defend and the driver behind has to brake to avoid hitting you, you're in the wrong.
Huge props to pumpkin, he could have played it dirty on the last corner for the win but he knew you had the fair advantage and instead of sabotaging you or forcing an error on you (and perhaps simultaneously on himself) he knew to just let you take the turn and if he could hold it he would, but he couldn’t and spun out. He is a very clean driver so big props to him
love the editing and diff camera angles in this vid! Seeing the two of you go around the banked corner, and the views from his back were awesome touches.
Say, wasn't midnightpumbkin7 the laggy driver/alien from the last video? 3-bar connection this go 'round, he's coming up in the world. Still don't have GT7, but I recall learning AllSass in GTS and being surprised by how much fun the track was once I was familiar. All the elevation change and shifting camber through long turns make it an epic track. Thanks for the memories Steve lol.
hi super gt just wanna say thank you for inspiring me with driving i gained more confidence and you encouraged me to actually win my first radical race thank you -best of wishes
those rear view camera angles from the car ahead of you were awesome! Please make that a regular thing in the videos. Its cool to watch these evolve in production value over the years
You make it look so easy. I haven't played Grand Torismo in many years. 15 or more years I would say. I recently started playing GT7 and am 4 golds away from gold on all license tests, and have completed all of the Cafe menu challenges. I struggle mightily, taking around an hour and a half to get gold after seemingly endless and miserable restarts, silver trophies, and frustration in the final, hot lap license challenges. I use a controller and I'm on ps5, and wouldn't dare race online yet, as last place consistently doesn't sound appealing! I will live my GT7 life vicariously through you 👍✌️ Thanks for the videos
Top notch editing! I do like this track, one of my faves! And I told you before in another video, but now there is another player on this side of the world with one of your account names. You are a huge influencer.
I’m pretty sure Pumbkin was the alien racer from the other video you did recently. But focusing back to this video, I have to say there were plenty of incredible scenes and top notch competing
Once I’m past the first couple laps chaos (not something you likely get as much in A+) then I really enjoy getting into a groove and just applying pressure like this.
A faster driver tailed me the entire time at Monza last week in the daily a. I didn’t even know about drs. He could have nudged a win. I watched the replay to see, that though I won, he could have taken me, and was the more respectful driver. I’m slowly learning. Thanks to the other drivers out there leading by example. Thanks. See you out there someday.
Pumpkin and myself have had some great races over the months, he's certainly very quick and a solid driver, good to see you had such a cracking race there with him. I was in the 911 myself at Alcase, it was a hugely enjoyable race against the GTRs, lots of fantastic overtaking opportunities. Now we just need the forward layout of the track to pop up for a race!
First time commenting, from TAS Australia. I’m not into video games I don’t even own a console but Steve your content is addictive and I watch most if not all your uploads. Everything you do is awesome mate and keep you and Barry R up 👌🏻👍🏻
Shout out to Pumpkin. That was a good race he put up. It's hard leading with someone so fast right behind you nibbling at your ankles. Finding good races like that can be rare. I bet he was having a hell of a good time up until that last corner.
Brilliant race mate 👍. First one was my favourite 💥. Liking the mazdar atenza. Enabled subtitles to what they were saying and it said " master intenser" 🤣🤣
I know we have a habit of using the word "Sensational" with irony here on this channel but that first race was, unironically, SENSATIONAL. My god, what a finish.
That last lap was really cinematic, i don't play gt online anymore mostly because i bought a pc so i just end up emulating the old ps2 gt's, but damn you're a good driver!
Fair play to midnightpumbkin, he drove well and gave you way more space than he needed on that final corner. He could have pinched you against the apex, and while a little unsportsmanlike, it would have been understandable on the final corner when first is on the cards. Poor Thunder. Imagine being so fast you need to slow down to keep things interesting. Pretty cool though, almost felt like a "Come on Steve, I know you're smart enough to analyse what I'm doing, so come along for a lesson".
Good stuff there, really good battles. Just looks like overall, you easily beat them on how smooth you are on corner exit in the slower portions (which in a car with a power advantage, just exaggerates that even more when a fast sector immediately follows). Some very fast folks you raced against but its interesting to see how much time is lost just on having those kinds of exits lap after lap.
At 8:00 when you show pumbkin’s POV and how twitchy he is combined with his traction trouble I wonder if he was on controller. Still a great fight on his part, he’s fast
Another just plain ole entertaining video from Super GT. Well done bruh... Wanted to ask what car u guys drove at Gumball? Saw u trying to be all low key in DDE's video...lol
GT should add an elimination car selection. Cars dissapear upon selection. The higher your rank the less likely you're able to grab the GTR. However if you've made pole position in qualifying you get first pick. To speed things up, add an auto pick function where you pre-select your top 5 or top 10 cars. Driver's have 10s to choose before auto selection.
Poor midnight… He didnt handle the pressure. Tbf with SuperGT behind I’m sure that a lot of racers (me in particular) would’ve given up a lot earlier so props to him
Hey SuperGT, I'm new to online racing and loving it, and I'm just starting to get onto the podium. I think I'll improve when I start driving with the VR2. Will you be doing the same? I would love to see you review it for pros and cons? Keep up the great content!!!!

that race really kept me on the edge of my seat, and F to pumbkin for spinning at the finish line

if super gt is so good why is there no super gt 2?
Midnightpumbkin is a very good opponent for Super GT. Pumbkin gives him a good challenge 👍
Great competitive driving, from both ✌

Those last few corners in the first race really emphasized the difference between great drivers and great racers--awesome to see!
Awesome video, literally was at the edge of my seat on the first race.
