I like the looks of the black ones the best. I have a '64 6hp myself, but I haven't worked on it yet. The OMC's are just way more appealing to collect due to the better parts availability. It's a shame because these are very nice motors as well. I was surprised to hear that the black and white ones run so much quieter than the orange one. At least, it sounded like that in the video. Keep the videos going, I enjoy them! Greetings from Holland
@@islandtoyboxThat's great to hear! If you haven't visited these already, national parc the Biesbosch and the Weerribben are both really beautiful and definitely worth a visit. Especially for us boating enthusiasts
*_As great as those Johnson/Evinrudes were. And they were. There was just something special about a Merc... My_** Mark 75a **_ruined me for life._** hahaha LOL*
@@Imnotyourdoormat I agree, there is one Merc for every 100 OMC motors. The coils alone are hard to find and getting close to $200 per coil. Nothing like a good running Mercury on a calm sunny summer morning! Once that sound is in your blood your hooked.
Just found your channel, love the old outboards! I've got an early 70's Johnson 5hp I got going to use as a kicker on my '74 18' Cal Glass. Currently in the middle of rebuilding the OMC 302 for it. I'm in Powell River, what part of the island are you from?
This is where is idea for the Tower of power came from! Are you running them in salt water? If so what do you do after using them? Thanks for the entertainment.
Wonderful video and wonderful engines! When I was a kid we had a 6hp Mercury -66 - Looked like your -64. Didn,t like saltwater...🙃
@@braaland Glad you liked it! It was fun to make. Great old engines but getting harder to keep going as parts are getting harder to source
Poetry in motion. Greetings from Sydney Australia.
My daughter spent a summer over there as a nanny. She had nothing but good things to report! Thanks for watching

@@pryan05p71 They get flushed with fresh water and a good wash down. I have used CIC in cases of continuous use for long periods.
