Amazing isn't it. Not that long ago we were forced to drive cars that had bench seats, three on the tree, 4 wheel drum brakes, terrible skinny tyres, the cars refused to go around corners, no air conditioning, rusted overnight, drank leaded super like you wouldnt believe, bone jarring ride, yes Holden's and Fords. And they weren't cheap new. Nothing wrong with this Haval. Cheap, chockers with gear, go well, smooth, fantastic warranty, quite, reliable, Very economical, comfortable, great air con, that's the poverty pack! And they don't rust. If you can afford a Lexus fine. But for most of us the Haval is great value.
That circle on the cruise control is not for self-driving that's actually just traffic jam assist. The lane centring works exactly the same on the other cruise control option when you press it once. The circle just indicates that you're on traffic jam assist meaning the lane assist will work under 50ks an hour.
So, you probably knew this; what they're calling the GWM Haval Jolion Hybrid here is actually a related but distinct vehicle that's been around in China for a while, called the Haval Chitu, aka Red Hare. Some may recognise "Chi Tu"/"Red Hare" as the name Lü Bu's horse of legend, and considering that cultural aspect, the youthful and sporty, almost hot hatch-like styling here makes a lot of sense, and that would also explain the different suspension. It's going for a different sort of vibe from the classic Jolion. But also with both a name and styling like that, you'd also expect the powertrain and dynamics to be equally sporty. And to its credit, at least judging from your review it's not bad in that regard, but it still gives the vibe of a family SUV pretending to be sporty, kinda like the GWM Haval H6 GT. - I know Haval doesn't really even do performance cars, but still, this trend of giving these vehicles performance looks without the actual performance can be a little disappointing. And in this case, actively detrimental to the practicality of the vehicle.
Like, I genuinely think the boot space issue will be a detriment to the sales of the Jolion Hybrid, considering the buyers of the classic Jolion (seemingly) tend to be small families, and the Jolion Hybrid feels like it's trying to be more of a young singles-type vehicle like the Toyota C-HR, (although obviously it's a larger vehicle than the C-HR.) - It's an odd decision from GWM for sure to market this as the same vehicle. Or that's my personal opinion, anyway.
You misunderstand those four green bars for cruise control have nothing to do for the distance between you and the car in front that is nothing but simply a visual for whether you're a safe distance. And if those green bars go orange or red, obviously it slows you down.
Wrong. The bars represent distance. You can change the distance between you and the car in front with a button on the right spoke of the steering wheel.
@danielbeard2656 Just shut up and ready my comment again. I said on the screen the GREEEEEN bars don't change the distance between you and the cars in front, that's left to the grey bars above the green one. I own a Jolion mate
@ezy.from.now.on. You are correct. I did misread your comment. Nice verbal slapping too 🤣🤣. I did shut up and read it again. I compliment you on your choice of vehicle. I bought one as well. Quite impressed so far.
The new entry-level City Plus retains a bigger boot space than the Jolion Pro. It doesn't have leather seats and lane keep assistance. In general it has more features than most other vehicles have in the same price range that doesn't have these features in their base models.
What do you mean????????? I have a 2024 Jolion Ultra, and my safety features i consider to be oerfect bc on the freeway i legit never drive, it drives itself. I have 0 ussues with it
I don't know why ppl bother complaining about the attention monitors in cars. Just throw some bluetack or paper over tve camera and your fine like its not that hard. Thatd exactly what I've done in my jolion and its oeefectly fine
It’s because it’s not accurate. If you wear sunglasses or the camera can’t see your eyes it’ll go off. Needless to say the sounds and notifications are a distraction in itself forcing u to look off the road to see which damn safety message you’re getting
I'm not going to lie I kinda like it for some reason, the base one is meh but the Jolion pro S that we get here in south africa looks nice to me at least
And then you'll need wheel spacers made for this just to make the wheels fit proper. Right now it looks like a shopping cart, wide on top and wheels hiding inside! YUKH!
I felt there were some subtle negative in this review. We has this type of thing quite often in the early days of Chinese car, now it happens again. Yes, The Chinese car is not perfect, so as 1978 Corolla, 1992 Excel...
Totally agree, in a few years the Chinese will start to refine their offerings, in the meantime however, criticisms, whether subtle or not, are totally warranted....

Well said
Cheap?? No!!
Affordable? Yes absolutely!!

A lot of cars freak out when you cover the camera, and why should you have to pay for a feature which isn't made or integrated properly?
It’s because it’s not accurate. If you wear sunglasses or the camera can’t see your eyes it’ll go off. Needless to say the sounds and notifications are a distraction in itself forcing u to look off the road to see which damn safety message you’re getting
Amazing car. I recently did a test drive.
Does the battery have a fan and filter like the toyota.
looks like the wheels could use some 20mm spacers. they look terrible.
Can you review geely coolray?
Tell them to sell it in Australia 😭
@@CarSauceOh I thought they sell geely In Australia.
@@CarSauceIll make sure to tell them
Daddy, I like the spoiler.
Hello carsauce, come to India . Review the Mahindra ROXX 5 DOOR
A boot the size of a Corolla hatch.. are they serious?
Very much not liking the fact that it hasn't got a powered tailgate, it's safety isn't great and it's reversing camera is similar to a Mitsubishi asx
Looks really weird like someone squished the wheels inside of the body.
Good car
Saw one of these the other day, and it looks appalling in real life. The body looks too wide for both axles and those skinny tyres… yuck.
I'm not going to lie I kinda like it for some reason, the base one is meh but the Jolion pro S that we get here in south africa looks nice to me at least
Haval in Hebrew means "shame/shameful".

Boot is a deal breaker. Shame on you Haval. Shame on you.

Meh.. Chinese cars will always be cheap and crap.
Please ,drop the 🤡ness, be more profesional I got a headache by the end of your review ( suzuki swift )😬
Only 70Kw from a 1.5L 4 cylinder? Thats kinda bad for a modern car I'd expect at least 90.
hybrid
115kw from electric motors
@@sed9406 Doesnt make up for that fact that the engine itself is shit and inefficient. A 3 pot 1.3L should be producing 70KW not a 1.5l 4 cyl.
Oh no an unstressed Atkinson cycle engine!
I don't think you know how a hybrid system works lol. You should educate yourself. It's 140Kw combined.
That Haval badge looks sooo cheap... they need to design a new logo 🤮
The logo is fine, it's the ugly ass colour they use on the new hybrid cars
Well, some people like to show they have evs and I think that's good for them.
I saw one of these today - it's genuinely embarrassing. I feel for anyone who buys one, but at least they won't be stuck with it for long.
Fine on the front but bit off on the back.
If it had its hazard lights on, it may not have been broken down. It may just have been in sport mode 🫣
Between the safety crap and the hazard lights flashing when you’re going into sports mode, I declare that this car is a piece of shit. How tacky
cheap garbage chinese car unfortunately
