This feels like those fashion videos where celebrities review their past looks and give great content. So, this is the ‘Vanity Fair’ video with English-language books.
omg i would LOVE a Paris version of the reading books that people were reading on the underground video! Such a good idea. Fun little way to kind of sample what people are reading in different places
As someone with ADHD, the only way I can make sure I actually read books I buy, and make sure they're not just sitting on my shelf for an eternity, is to make a list of books I have yet to read that I own, and even schedule by month and in order when I intend to read them. It's been going well so far, and I haven't strayed from my list because I know if I do, I'll either get distracted or forget or just lose interest in the books I skipped. So, I don't think it's dumb that you have a priority list. My list has allowed me to stay out of a reading slump I've have on and off for years, and it makes me feel productive and putting the money I spent on books to good use.
Your copy of Sea of Poppies looks like the previous owner put a Mylar protective sleeve on it (maybe because they’re a collector) rather than a plastic library one. If it has no tape holding the sleeve to the cover, and/or no library stamps in the book, then I’d leave it on because that’s archival quality protection. Look up Brodart to see what I mean.
When you get back to France (and your french is a bit better perhaps), I’d love to see you visit some of the English language chateau restoring channels on RUclips and see their libraries/book collections. Stephanie from the ‘chateau diaries’ has a book collection and is an English grad, Billy on ‘doing it ourselves’ has fairly recently purchased the wooden shelving from an old library for his chateau….just as an example.
You telling us all your upcoming videos has me so hyped for the next few months! Cottagecore?? Strangers on the train??? Dark academia??? Tallying booktube books?? You honestly have the best ideas and the videos are always exceptionally entertaining
you should definitely publish that non-fiction book list! I like the IDEA of reading non-fiction, but because there are so many smaller categories that branch from the one genre, it can be overwhelming to choose which ones i want to read...
You should do a series where you get books you haven’t read before, read the first chapter and then read the last chapter, after that make a review if you’d read the whole book or try to make predictions what happened in the book. :)
seeing how many books Jack has and hasn’t read makes me feel better about my own unread collection
Obsessed with the idea of a "What people are reading in the subway" series in different cities ! Would be so cool to see a range of reading tastes !!

please turn 'reading what people are reading on the tube' into a series!

I share this "buy every book that sounds good" problem.... I've finally just decided that there are worse vices to have so I'm not going to stress it

Honestly think these are my favorite kind of videos, feels like you’re just hanging out listening to your friend ramble obsessively about books ☺️
I would pay to binge watch his content. Pure serotonin
i clicked so fast for this i'm so excited
I love watching you talk enthusiastically about your books. It’s lovely to me ☺️

I would love to read the same books along side you! Sounds like a lot of fun!
