I've literally only read a few books so far this year. Pre med is so stressful and time consuming, i don't get time to sleep properly let alone reading 😭😭😭
Please do not make reading a chore for yourself. Take your time with books, and don't feel bad if others are reading more.

I love The View Was Exhausting! If you like Evelyn Hugo or Daisy Jones, you will probably like it, but it's much more of a romance than either of those. (Also, if you want more books about fake famous people, might I suggest Mary Jane by Jessica Anya Blau! It's about a girl who is a nanny for a family who has a famous couple staying with them in the 60s/70s and it's just so sweet and fun)

I really want to recommend a book to you. It's a short story collection called Dangling Gandhi by Jayanti Sankar. Nothing really happens but it is kind of a commentary on human behaviour. Plus I know you like reading diverse literature.
Not a recommendation for me but it sounds so interesting so i'm gonna go and check it out lol, thank you

@@swarkles4901 Thing is that my reading has been so saturated by American and British stories that I haven't read much of Indian authors which is really just sad so I'm trying to remedy that.
@@rashichoudhary2006 haha +1 i rely on booktubers like our very own jack and clockwork for recs, sadly they don't talk much about indian books [when ik for a fact there are great ones] so imma explore some on my own

Jack, if you haven’t read Annie Dillard’s book called The Writing Life, it is inspirational especially to someone aspiring to write books. It got me out of my writing slump and existential despair. Also her book Pilgrim at Tinker Creek which won the Pulitzer Prize is phenomenal as well kind of has the same aesthetic as Mary Oliver’s Upstream.
Such a fun little video and you're so enjoyable to watch, just a ray of sunshine with good jokes. Also the message from future Jack at the end about the screen cover made me cackle 😂

It's super interesting that you find 'a novel' on book covers gives literary fiction vibes - it gives me 'wants to be literary fiction but actually a book club book' vibes - you know those books that are sort of literary but still accessible enough to be mainstream/commercially popular? That's what 'a novel' says to me 😂
