I’m going to need updates on the issues between Jack’s neighbours 😂 I no longer live in a block of flats, I don’t miss that drama in my own life but I’m there for other people’s drama 🍿 😂
I was talking to my tech guy at work and I said "i always wanted a label maker, but i have nothing to label," and he responded with "If you have a label maker, you'll have stuff to label"
🚨Content/Sensory alert Bright light (from a book scanner) flashed directly into camera (Jack also shines the scanner at his face a bit) time window listed below. (so folks can listen/look away from the screen if they would like to avoid it): 21:36-23:26
@@lexbartelmann8398 it can't actually hurt you any more than your device's current screen brightness. We as viewers seeing it flash in our eyes (recorded via a camera, then seen via a device) does not produce the same result as it would if you were in-person
Its crazy to think that with an assumption of an average £10 per book (I know some may be more or less than that), this is almost £20,000 worth of books in one place
Library tour! jack you can put some of the overflow of books in the Narnia bookcase and rotate them into the appropriate shelf when you need too (like potentially getting rid of books you don't like or know you won't ever get around to) so there aren't so many books on the floor!
I think it might look a little more “together” if the labels were in the same place on each shelf, like in column once or twice on each shelf. I understand this might be hard since all your genres are different sizes. Maybe you put them in a grid and you can have the same genre multiple times covering the whole area that that genre is in. It might be easier to reorganize too when you inevitably grow different genres!
As some people already suggested: those labels would look more coherent if they would be in same spot on every shelf - one on far right and one on far left would be mine idea. Also: those labels are ... too white - more yellowish/cream paper would be way better as white ones don't go well with bookshelves colour! I tried to make database of books I do own in excel, but I was bored after ~40 ... now I want scanner and that base/website you got - even though I have way less books 🙃 EDIT: according their website Libib is free up to 5000 items and have app letting you scan books by phone camera.... I know what I will be doing tomorrow instead of cleaning my house as I planned 🤣
Omg I'm wanting to organize all my books by the Dewey decimal system before Christmas but I've had a bit of a cold so lost inspiration but this is exactly what I need, thank you so much Jack
As someone who has been tracking their personal library in Excel for 2 years, I am shocked to learn about Libib. During your video I was like, nah I don’t need to do that… But when you showed how it can sort your library by author, title, date of publication, even star rating?!? Oh man I may have to convert. I’m going to fall asleep debating this tonight…
As a STEM girl who also loves reading: Bluetooth is basically short range radio waves and devices will jump between channels to find the best signal with the least interference. Of course within the distance it allows
He talked about it in video about moving in... I still think that better option would be adding another billy bookcase on top (short one, half of the height of those that he has) - of course if they would fit there ;)
with my new label maker, my 12 year old made a label for everything. my headphones got a label saying Eddie. My name isn't Eddie, kid isn't Eddie. Headphones are now addressed as Eddie.
Oh my God I was getting so chill, ok let's watch Jack label his library, this is so relaxing before bed.. AND THEN BOOOM! THE BEST GOSSIP STORY YOU COULD HAVE EVER WANTED! HEYOO!!
The garden saga is very funny. Also you’re gonna make me make bad financial decisions… I now want a label maker and book scanner. But my collection isn’t even half of yours… (I thought I had so many when I counted out nearly having 200.)
I think the 'tackiness' comes from the white of the label. instead of having label on the wood, you can have the book separators with the labels on them, idk the proper name for it but you find them in bookstore to separate or mark when big authors books starts for example.
don’t remove the magic portal door!!! you can add a brass door handle and it would look so good! It divides up the space. Otherwise, it looks too busy.. You could also put a lil rug under the chair - major cozy vibes!
1800 is an amazing amount of books, and if you have the space and the means then why not. But every time I see one of your videos, I worry that your book collection has outgrown its space far far too quickly for you to keep up with providing more shelves (and eventually places to put the shelves). At this rate, you're going to end up building your house out of books, a la James May's lego house!
What you need is a trompe-l'oeil door painted to look like bookshelves, which open to reveal - more bookshelves. On the cupboard doors I mean. As for not thinking it would be so soon. Hah.
I think you might be more into the labels if you eventually invest in some laser engraved or letter punched metal label sheets, would be less Office Space-y and more Peabody Library class
I have 100-200 books that I own and when I moved into where I now live it was a HASSLE. The boxes were heavy asf too. I even gave away some books bc I just couldn’t. Idk how you did all that
The story of a person who buys a barcode scanner and is scammed by someone who makes a website with instructions that secretly make all scanners useless and then the person embarks on a mystery journey to find out who the person who set up the website was and why they did it would be a brilliant short story in a collection lol
Omg you're too cute turning your collection into an actual library! I can't imagine having this many books in an apartment. I hope you don't have to move anytime soon!
Maybe you could switch up the font on the labels? My thought is having like capital letters throughout and then the font being like typewriter font! If that makes any sense 😂 love your shelves !!
If people pay for my flights and give me an area of ground to sleep on, I will happily organise books alphabetically by author's last name for free. I'll organise books any way you want as long as it's not fully rainbow. Rainbow by genre? That I'd be down with.
im actually so invested in the neighbors tea now
This is the kind of drama I live for. As long as it doesn't involve me😅
I’m going to need updates on the issues between Jack’s neighbours 😂 I no longer live in a block of flats, I don’t miss that drama in my own life but I’m there for other people’s drama 🍿 😂
ikr I was actually so intrigued… listening on the edge of my seat
the drama with the garden seems to just be making ur day
I was talking to my tech guy at work and I said "i always wanted a label maker, but i have nothing to label," and he responded with "If you have a label maker, you'll have stuff to label"
1) I'm invested in the neighbours drama
2) yes to see the rest of the apartment
3) you should switch places between the drawers and the desk
OMG this garden drama is incredible
I think if the labels weren't white, maybe darker or even black with white text, that might fit the whole vibe better
- has over 1800 books -
"we've scanned 600 books, we're at the halfway point!"
Oh, Jack... sweetie.... not quite.... 😅
If he keeps collecting books at this rate the next video will be "I bought a house for my books" lol
AntsCanada syndrome
Came for the label making, stayed for the plot as thick as knotweed
'Garden Gate' is the funniest drama I've heard about in a long time 😆

Thank you for adding this! I’m personally okay with bright lights but I’m sure this would be helpful for someone
wish i saw this before watching the video lmao, cursed with a migraine now
hopefully this gets pinned 🙏
Yeah that hurt....
Thanks for the time stamp. Jack please pin this!

So invested in the garden story-please keep us updated!
Its crazy to think that with an assumption of an average £10 per book (I know some may be more or less than that), this is almost £20,000 worth of books in one place
more like 20 for the hardcovers too!
How did we go from only just being 1000 books to now being closer to 2000 🤯 feels like just the other day you were trying to grow the ‘home library’!
I was thinking that: must have been a really good shopping spree!
Once you reach library status, there is a library fairy that stops by your home that tends to make the books start multiplying on their own.
Ohh, maybe you should type your labels on cream colored distressed paper. You know - for the look. Those plastic labels definitely look odd.
Jack sucked us into the drama of the building, hooked us, blinded us, distracted us with a conspiracy theory, then blinded us again. Only Jack

Stupid question….Was the battery charged on the first scanner? I admire your patience for all that scanning!

sometimes i think about deleting my database just so i can go through and make it all over again lmao
Dude! You got books on the floor already! 0:02
If you hang postcards on the cabinet, it will blend better with its surroundings.
Such a great idea!
Okayyyyyyy bookish harry styles ✨️
Me when I saw the sweater lmao
Jack is literally every book-girls’ dream man 🥹
never mind the library, i need a whole video on this building drama - a whole CHANNEL of gossip dedicated to these sly neighbours
I didn't know I wanted a book scanner until this video.
Okay, why I’m I so invested in the neighbors drama 😂 I need all the details asap😂
The garden drama was golden, in need of updates!
Omg I'm wanting to organize all my books by the Dewey decimal system before Christmas but I've had a bit of a cold so lost inspiration but this is exactly what I need, thank you so much Jack
THE GARDEN DRAMA WHAAAAAT😂 I’m so invested in your library and this wonderful little life
Yess I want an apartment tour!!
dude you make me wanna make my own library
As someone who has been tracking their personal library in Excel for 2 years, I am shocked to learn about Libib. i loved the gossip
There’s an extension for your bookshelves you can buy to add a row to the top (and then put more books on top of that row 😂)
He talked about it in video about moving in... I still think that better option would be adding another billy bookcase on top (short one, half of the height of those that he has) - of course if they would fit there ;)

20:18 just made me think of the "This is fine" meme 🔥😂
Came for the home library, stayed for the garden drama👌😩
9:22 i'm so glad we're all remembering this culturally significant moment
When you stood up I was so surprised because I somehow never thought you would be that tall
"What could be scarrier than commitment" 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
20:30 GOT ME SO GOOD
My eyes actually hurt 😂😂
we simply NEED a full room tour video! please and thank you
don’t remove the magic portal door!!! you can add a brass door handle and it would look so good! It divides up the space. Otherwise, it looks too busy..
You could also put a lil rug under the chair - major cozy vibes!
Great idea!
I will never get over your delivery, the garden story had me cackling
I love my scanner . I also have the libib app and a custom book embosser.
you know that quote that goes “when you have a hammer everything looks like a nail”
that is jack with the label printer

Posted one minute ago- new record for me. Love thiss
Living my dream
Omg what 😂 the neighborhood tea is piping hot.

I did this too! Next step, an embossed ex libris for every title page?
i loveee the closet doors in the middle
Label maker now, next a laminator and finally bird watching- the slow descent into old age 😂
bluetooth is truly just basically the same kind of thing as GPS and WiFi, but over a shorter-range. it's all wireless communication technology
Sitting on the floor, while a stack of books sit on the chair. Obviously this is how it was always going to go 😂
still excited every time The Chair makes an appearance tho
I haven’t seen your videos in a while and the longer hair looks good on you🙂↕️
help why am i so early i should be reading instead
I think it would look nicer if you move the shelves with doors to the far right so it encases the books with your dresser on the left!
when you were counting and said "on the the second shelf" I misheard shelf as child and I didn't even question it
I LOVED ariana and cynthia memes reference
not understanding bluetooth is so real
Okay math wiz!!!! 6:06
12:20 funny
12:25 funny part 2
I have 100-200 books that I own and when I moved into where I now live it was a HASSLE. The boxes were heavy asf too. I even gave away some books bc I just couldn’t. Idk how you did all that
I see Jack is not immune to the technological frustrations of Mercury retrograde shenanigans
❤Love you're Library. Beautiful dream ✨️ come true. The neighbors drama cant wait for part 2 😅of what happens next.
The story of a person who buys a barcode scanner and is scammed by someone who makes a website with instructions that secretly make all scanners useless and then the person embarks on a mystery journey to find out who the person who set up the website was and why they did it would be a brilliant short story in a collection lol
Jack’s home really is where his heart is ❤
This is the most bliss video!!
NO WAY!!! I knew Jack was crazy, but not at this point. YESYESYES!
I might be wrong but doesn’t ikea make half doors for the Billy? Maybe that could help your door issue while still leaving you with hidden storage!
As an aside, I really love the new styling on your hair! It suits you perfectly
Love the hair!
You are to be congratulated officially!
27:21 me on christmas when I got a Skannerz toy, and I wanted new monsters
Omg you're too cute turning your collection into an actual library! I can't imagine having this many books in an apartment. I hope you don't have to move anytime soon!
I love that level of petty.
Is anyone going to tell him you can just actually be a librarian and do this all day?
The label maker would have came in handy for Musée d'Ella :)))
omg you're an OG
ooh i need to get one of those
Maybe you could switch up the font on the labels? My thought is having like capital letters throughout and then the font being like typewriter font! If that makes any sense 😂 love your shelves !!
If people pay for my flights and give me an area of ground to sleep on, I will happily organise books alphabetically by author's last name for free. I'll organise books any way you want as long as it's not fully rainbow. Rainbow by genre? That I'd be down with.
Girl never been so early
I liked the labels
19:51 anyone else notice this taylor reference? 🙈
Welcome to the joy of label makers! They are addicting. Its too late to get out now.
Note to self: do not trust Jack to be migraine safe 😂😂
You and your label maker giving me Monica Geller vibes 😍
I tried this a year or two ago I think and special editions tend not to scan unfortunately :(
