I wish you made this video with spoilers because we want to hear or see your reaction to major plot points. This series is old enough where I feel like spoilers are okay
Something I love about these books is as the characters gets older(/the reader would be getting older as the books were coming out), the writing and story matures. I feel like you talked about that with the series being YA but the series as a whole is so well planned out. Love the vlogs girl you’re killing bookmas
Yep, you don't mind (or don't even really notice) the similarities when you're reading them every 1 to 2 years. Plus having the gaps between reading the books meant you almost get excited for the return to the Harry Potter school year rhythm.
The way I felt SADNESS about you not growing up on Harry Potter! Reading them one by one, going to the cinema to see them, listening to them every times I felt sad growing up. Those characters are gonna be living in my heart forever and ever. Im happy that you found them now ❤
For anyone struggling to get through the books I will stand by the fact that the audiobook is so elite no other audiobook is better highly recomend listening! It makes it so much easier to get through!
YES! I am so happy for you. I am glad that you are loving book Ron! You mentioned seeing a few clips that made it seem like Ron was scared and kinda wimpy. The writers in the movies for some reason gave a lot of Ron's best book lines to other characters, so the books are where you can really see his true character and personality.
I've been watching her updates on goodreads and I've been waiting for the video. There's so many things i can't wait to see her reactions on in the later books.
The Harry Potter series is what sparked my passion for reading and it will always be my number one series because of it. The story, the world, the characters and the found family will forever be unmatched.
I am 35, and this summer I read HP for the very first time too. I remember getting the first book for Christmas when I was 11, so I was Harry’s age, and I was not interested in it whatsoever. I was an OG hater and the more popular it got, the more I made the stand of not wanting to consume any of the content. I was even working at a movie theater when the last two movies were coming out and i managed to not see a single clip. I don’t know what exactly possessed me at my big age to start reading them, but I blew through all the books in July of this year & the last two books had me sobbing, clutching my kindle to my chest, difficulty breathing dramatics. I have thought of the books every day since then. I did a combination of reading and listening and the audio narrator is fantastic. I am so glad I gave this series a chance and I wish I could have loved them as long as my peers have
Exactly! Same. I mean, I am not from the UK, and I am not from the US, but Harry Potter is in my blood since elementary school. But I guess she is 18 years younger than me! lol
it’s the same here in the US lol. when I told my coworkers that I haven’t read HP they were like wtf bc they know I like reading and they thought I had read the series 😅
i wish you talked more in depth about the books with a spoiler section or something i want to know what you thought about each of the twists, if you predicted them, why were you crying, etc!!
With the Harry Potter books with the kids that grew up with the books the author took time to release them so it was a couple years before the next one came out. That is why she refreshes everyone in the book.
I honestly thought you were not going enjoy them as much as most of us but then watching you go through them and actually enjoying them reminded me how great they actually are 🥹 I need to reread them 🙊
i’m in book 6 of harry potter currently. SO much better than the movies. i grew up on the movies but the books just explain things better and are in such better detail. i love them so much!
I grew up on the movies too. Got into the books a few years back and mind blowing how much more I love the books. I still love the movies but the books are just that much better.
THE WAY I SCREAMED! Oh my God. My most anticipated video ever!!!! I’m so happy you’re finally reading them, HP is my favorite saga ever. Can’t wait for part 2!!!
I was in my early thirties before I started reading them (I was 28 when they first released in the US). I worked with kids and was told by multiple clients (I work in mental health) that I needed to read it. So I finally did... and fell in love. So you don't need to be young when you read it to love it. It's hands down just an amazing magical series!
I’m literally living every day just to make it to the day you post the part 2 to this vlog. They get so crazy!!!! Been in love with these characters for years and love seeing someone else discover it for the first time!!!! 🥰😍
I don't know if anyone would read this but these books and changed me , shaped me and heals me continuously.... The characters , the setting ... Everything oddly feels like home ❤
"We were too busy trying to live" 😂 Girl, I read these as they came out (I know, I am old). I waited in line for the 5, 6 and 7th books at midnight and binge read them all. I am so happy you are experiencing this!❤
i’m so glad you’re loving the books omg i was so scared u weren’t going to like them!! also i LOVE the “how this book made me feel” segment i think it’s so funny
This is my all time favorite series. I’ve reread it multiple times and they’re my comfort movies. Idc what other say, I think they’re great movie adaptations! I wish you could’ve grown up with these but so glad you’ve discovered it now!
I love destiny,s videos but this one is definitely the one I clicked on the fastest !!!! I read it last year for the first time and I loved it so much!!!!
YES! I love this! I’m in the middle of the Harry Potter journey myself, I had never watched the movies or read the books, but I also started it this fall and I am now in the middle of the 5th book, so this couldn’t have come at a better time and now I hope that I’m finished with all the books when the second part comes out, so I can watch it straight away!!
Omg yes! Being reminded about how I started my reading journey with the harry potter books just made me want to pick up a book again! I was in the biggest slump ever for over 2 months and you just helped me out of it
I grew up with harry potter and my birthday was always aligned with the book release. It was nice to read them in the summer and imagine harry experiencing summer with me and then heading back to school. Some of your critiques about the repetitiveness of the booms makes sense but when you read one every year it doesn't stick that the formula kinda stays the same.
This is so exciting!!!! Harry Potter will forever be in my heart and I can’t wait to see part 2 of this video!!! I wish I could reread this series for the first time 😭💞 I love that you’re loving it!
Omg the way I’ve been waiting for this moment ever since you picked up the series 🫶✨🪄 So glas you’re loving it!! I read them for the first time 4 years ago and I became obsesseddd 🎀 The last two books are my favourite ✨
Aaaah i love this. For the repetitiveness and the summary of previous books: most of us grew up with these and couldn't read them back to back because they weren't written yet. Back in the day it was very normal to describe a bit what previously happened haha😊
Crossing my fingers that part 2 comes out super soon! This series holds such a special place in my heart and it makes me so happy seeing you experience this world for the first time!❤️
I’m so glad you are reading this series! I read it growing up and it has genuinely changed me as a person (probably because I reread it 10 times while in elementary and middle school) but some things just stuck with me and I really want to reread this now that I’m in my twenties.
this is why I'm a reader! seeing someone experience Harry Potter for the first time is seriously what I live for. I saw it with my husband and mother in law and it really never gets old
I always loved how many side characters there are and how you know so much about them, they have real personalities and backstories where many other books tend to have just a few side characters or they don’t get that much attention
The Harry Potter series has such a special place in my heart ❤️ they were the first books in a series I read on my own as a child and they made me fall in love with reading! It makes me so happy to see you as a big reader pick them up as an adult and find the same joy and magic in them 🥰
When I was younger I read the first 3 books and I read like 3 chapters of the 4th and couldn’t get through it, so I definitely understand where you’re coming from. About 6-7 years ago I started the series over from the beginning and it’s now my favorite series! Just so nostalgic and fun. I got my fiancé to listen to the audiobooks and we love anything Harry Potter. He’s probably listened to them all the way through like 10 times now
As soon as destiny announced she was going to read harry potter last year i was so hyped because i LOVE harry potter and my reading journey started with the first harry potter book (im still in the middle of the series i just couldn't get through the 4th book and hopefully ill pick it up again because i want to finish the books but i truly fear her writing might not be my cup of if tea anymore) ANYWAYS back on track. Fast forward to when i see destiny is finally reading them on goodreads, hyped through the roof. But nothing will compare to waiting a full year to see the video notification pop up and then it does and im so excited that i accidentally put off watching it because i was so excited😂. As a persistent watcher it felt very worth waiting for and was rewarding to get to watch destiny start her harry potter journey (not to be dramatic) 😂😂 this has sparked my interest to pick the series back up as well🫶🏻
Des your reactions were so genuine and sooo interesting to watch! Like yeah the first two or three books are so cutesy and you were so right when you said we missed out on some of that in the fourth one because we were too busy trying to live😂 glad you’re enjoying them
It must be a completely different experience to read this books back to back. I was ending my teenage years when the first book was out, and I started reading them with my younger sister who’s 13 years younger. You have to understand that we had to wait more than a year between books. So yes, the recaps were welcome and the repeated scenes were a treat, like coming back home. Maybe next year you can dive into the Dramione’s fan fic world. Would also recommend Tom Felton’s biography. 🤌🏻
As some one who found the books before the hype and then the series being a big part of my life, so cool to see someone read it for the first time and give thoughts. So cool!!!! Also, there are probably reminders in the books because some of them were a good chunk of years apart, I wish that they were pumped out like books are today.
My friend Potter is my childhood. I grew up with those characters, watching the movies.. everything related to Harry just bring me back my entire childhood. I was 7 when the first movie came out and then i started the books. This story is home to me ❤
I read the HP series for the first time as an adult as well, and I also struggled with getting into Goblet of Fire. But the next book was my absolute favorite and the last three are generally all so much better than the first four!
The first book is my favorite because of how magical the introduction to everything is 😊 this series and the throne of glass series are my favorites because I loved them enough to read them all multiple times
I loved watching every bit of your HP reading vlogs part 1 and 2! I read the Harry Potter series around the same age you are now (about 13 years ago already 🥲) and it was so good.
Its so fun seeing someone experiencing the Harry Potter world for the first time. 😊 I’m aging myself, but I remember watching the movies and being the same age as the characters. I think if you’re enjoying Harry Potter, you’ll really love Percy Jackson too. Especially as they get further along. These are two series that are unique in the way they grow with complexity as the characters age. So, in that way, they grow with their intended readers too. They were written with the intent of children growing into teenagers and then adulthood, not so much to be binged at one single age as they are now, and yet they still work!
Absolutely love love that you're on your harry potter journey! It really is such a staple in so many people's childhoods and I'm obsessed that you're discovering the magic of hogwarts now. If you haven't already, I highkey recommend diving into the Percy Jackson world too. Another iconic series and world that was one of my favorites growing up, and I think you'd love it!
I wish you made this video with spoilers because we want to hear or see your reaction to major plot points. This series is old enough where I feel like spoilers are okay
I agree honestly
Make a spoiler warning at the start and there you go you can spoil as much as you want!!
The way I’ve waited for a big booktuber to read the book series that started my reading journey is crazy!
Omg you took the words out of my mouth
Yes!!! I don’t think I have ever been more excited for a booktube video literally ever
I'm so surprised a lot of them don't read it...
girl follow Kierra Lewis!!!!
@@KyrahStewart is reading them right now too 🤗

Not that serious lmao
@@alexandria65 I think everyone can decide this for themselves
For anyone struggling to get through the books I will stand by the fact that the audiobook is so elite no other audiobook is better highly recomend listening! It makes it so much easier to get through!
Jim Dale has such a good voice.
Stephen fry for the British ones is amazing as well
Andy Serkis' LotR audiobooks are definitely up there
Stephen fry's version was PERFECTION
seeing you say ooo its cozy its cute while knowing how high stakes its gonna get from the 4th book was soo fun 😂
factsssss

growing up in the UK it’s a culture shock to me that there are people that haven’t read/watched Harry Potter 😂
It's the same thing here. Harry Potter is popular in the US too.
Exactly! Same. I mean, I am not from the UK, and I am not from the US, but Harry Potter is in my blood since elementary school. But I guess she is 18 years younger than me! lol
You when you find out people have different paces in life: 🤯

It’s like general education for yall lmfao

the summary at the start of each book is more because the books were released a year or so apart it was to refresh your memory of the previous book x
this right after your disney vlog is so fun now you have to go to universal

Ahhhhh I need part 2!!!! I love these books. I wish I could read them for the first time too.
I will always stand by the fact that the Harry Potter movies are christmas movies
Omg yes!! I always watch them during December because Christmas at Hogwards is everything ahh
I read the HP series for the first time as an adult as well, and I also struggled with getting into Goblet of Fire. But the next book was my absolute favorite and the last three are generally all so much better than the first four!
