- Golf Impact Drills - Game Changer!
In this video we go over some of our favorite golf impact drills. These game changing golf drills are sure to improve your impact position with your irons and driver. Doing slow motion golf impact drills will allow you to feel where you are in space and where the golf club is. In this impact video we go over how our chest is the engine to our golf swing, not our pelvis. Learning the difference between what our arms do and what our chest does can give you a clear path for understanding the golf swing and how different maps work together. Rory Mcilroy's impact position and Victor Hovland's are prime examples of what a great impact position looks like.

They are the only channel that when I watch I understand it. I’ve been revamping my golf swing for a year and these videos have helped me so much. I’ve been doing it all wrong.
So pumped for you!!! And thank you for the kind words! Please keep us posted 🙏
I agree I just finished watching the sequence drill and I caught on right away!! I’ve been trying for yrs to start my downswing before I complete the back swing like the pros and I’m pretty sure 💯 percent make that move!!! He wording helps me understand everything!! Thank god this channel doesn’t get caught up with any he ELITE words like mostly all the other channels do!! 😂
@@davidsmart8754 let’s go! Keep us informed as you work on principles. Would love to help any way we can!!
@@davidsmart8754 the sequence video changed my game completely around. This channel has been the most impactful on my game. Actually it was that video and the tempo video. The tempo video helped me gain roughly 10 mph on my club head speed just because I’m syncing things up properly.
This plus the front loader drill helped me to my best score of the year 75. I am 69 and am working on getting more around on the follow through. Better direction and solid distance. Thank you for sharing and demonstrating your golf wisdom. keep the vids coming!😊
@@mbj-y5f absolutely fantastic!!! Just made our day!! Please keep us posted on your progress! Very excited to hear how it’s going!! ❤️❤️
Another Hall of Fame video. I’ve been playing for way too long, but I’ve never had a system where I could understand exactly where an impact drill fit in. You guys have given me both. AND the early extension correction was just the prescription I needed. As @hot125 indicated, it would be nice to continue to expand on this up to a full swing (iron and driver :-)). Yeah, I’m greedy.
Ask and you shall receive! Upcoming in the next few videos! And thank you for the kind words, so happy for you!!!! Keep up the awesome work in your game 🙏🙏
Great video! Would love to see this continue to build for a "full swing" (like piecing drill upon drill until its the whole thing)
Got a lot of foundational vids on here brother! May help to preview some of those and throw this in where applicable for your own move 🙏🙏
I love all your videos .. Your passion to teach ( your system) is second to none ,! Great drills to polish the whole part of the swing!
I still struggle with the impact ( hand position ) and exactly how the hands should look . Thanks again for the great content !
You bet! And please keep us posted! Here to help 🙏
After working on Trackman for several months, I notice that I was losing control through impact (arm swinger). Everyone has their own "Special" video, and this one is mine. My Trackman numbers on small swing SO much better! Thank you... Subscribed!
Fantastic! Please keep us posted on your game ❤️❤️🙏
They are simply the best at explaining the biomechanics of the swing, which is where we should all start. They are like Batman and Robin, the dynamic duo.
Greetings from Mexico, I am your fan.
Thank you so much!!! Very kind words!! 🇲🇽
Changing the game.. these videos have made a huge impact in my game (and it’s been 2 weeks). These videos just make sense 👍🏻
Let’s gooo! So pumped for you! Keep us posted!
you guys are the best .. golf is a lot more fun when I know what I am actually trying to do with my body rather than hit and hope. I hope you can do some basic bunker shot in term of how to pivot and general body and arm movement.
You betcha!!! We’re going to start throwing in short game, putting, and on course very soon. Want this channel to be as well rounded for viewers as possible 🙏
What??? This is something I’ve never saw or experienced before ever. I continue to learn new things in the channel and it’s sort of mind blowing honestly. I really need to get this feeling in.
Right on! Keep us posted on the progress!
This is so freakin' dope. I've been having so much trouble lately getting dumped under and hitting chunky draws. I think you may have been speaking to my soul here, thanks!
Let’s go baby! Keep us posted!
Love the concept of the infinity drill.
Right on! ♾️
Can you guys do some impact drills with driver? Been watching your videos for a while and my golf funds are going to playing at the moment. Winter time I’ll do the swing analysis. Thanks to you guys my irons are on fire. It’s funny cause I can’t hit the green right now inside of a 100 (working on that) but beyond that I’m golden lol.
My driver is decent but I know I can squeeze more out of it. And I know where I’m missing it.
When I consciously get my trail arm in front of my body like it’s supposed to be my driver is at least an inch lower than normal and you can see my ball mark on top of the club head. Idk if I’m dipping and staying too low and it’s just a sequencing issue (not rising or extending my left leg in time) or if it’s something else.
@@michaelgullion5032 oh yes we can! Can’t wait!!
I probably am misunderstanding something here. When I look at your release videos it seems you are telling us to let the trail wrist go from extension to flexion but in this video that does not seem to be the case. What simple concept have I missed?
You guys are a pleasure to see work together.
What a great question! And for sure we want the club to unload and there to be an active release. We just need to pair that release with a supportive body. The second part of this vid discusses the infinity loop and if you watch Tj release it, the trail wrist does from that loaded extension state to an unloaded flexion state 🙏
This is beautiful man. So good. Can you please explain how we should think of the “hit”? Which direction we are trying to hit the ball and which part of body should work?
Both of those questions are so individualistic. Everyone will feel that differently based on their own hit mechanism 🙏🙏
Great video. Next time, perhaps have a face on view of the explanation of the lead arm and the lack of excessive shaft lean.
Yes yes and yes! Definitely hear that!
Thanks Coach Riley, this video is gonna help out heaps, was having problems with the sequencing and this video really hits home, thanks again.
Fantastic!!!! Keep us posted please 🙏 ❤️
This video completes the puzzle for me. I’ve been following the system, rebuilding my swing from the ground up with your videos (enjoying reconnecting with my inner athlete) and now see how old “exit left” concepts were throwing me off at impact. So hands allow the club to release along the vector of club head (out), but chest rotation drags it out left…so long as you don’t stall chest rotation, you get the “exit left” finish w/o having to yank it there. Pls correct me if I’m wrong!!
Wonderful map!! Let us know how the rests are coming along!!
I understand this well. But now I confused by another video you did. Understanding the golf swing. In this video, you say use arms n the chest will follow. So should I just use chest rotation after the drop to hit the ball or when I drop , and use the arms n the chest will support ? Thanks
Could you comment on the clubface orientation during the infinity loop with just the hands and also during the swing? Does is roll open and shut, stay square to the ball????? If you covered this please point me to the right time stamp. Thanks, Tom
Tom! Good question really. Alex T just thew up two videos on the grab that will help with this and we also have put up some longer version RUclips’s that cover the hands… backdated to when we first started our channel 👍
Great lessons. But sometimes I'm not really clear about exactly how rotation of the ribs and pelvis are done, ie is the axis of rotation and how it moves during the swing. If we can have a camera view from top down with split screen, that would be perfect - picture paints a thousand words 😃
Yes! We’ve had a few comments about exactly this! We’re going to start doing this more and we’re currently working on a set up inline our studio that will allow us to film from multiple different camera angles 🙏
Is the infinity drill just a small version of what happens in the full swing …Does it apply to irons and driver? Thanks for your work.
Yes absolutely! Small version and works through the bag!
Thank you would love to see some full swings applying technique …His head appears to be dropping quite a bit in the drill is that ok? Sorry really trying to make this work. Thanks again
@@BillyFalconMusic no! Love the questions and keep them coming! We talk a lot about how to apply these principles in a number of our videos but I would look into the don’t lift the arms video and the stop slicing driver video. Will go over these explanations 🙏
Looking at the big poppa swing at end of video it’s negative alpha is very hard to see in full speed . very subtle .I tend to see the drills and and think that’s what I need to do when playing. It’s obvious the drill are an exaggeration. Wish you dudes were in Nashville . I’m I correct it’s more of a feel verses real thing.Im new to the channel have already shared your work out a bit. I’m a singer songwriter have a big mouth.God bless u guys great stuff.
@@BillyFalconMusic you the man! And at higher speeds the club will tend to hug the plane. Also, neg alpha and angular move the club slightly under the plane. No huge shallowing moves needed 🙏❤️
Great video as always! Just wondering when does the adduction/abduction move happens with the arms during the release?
Thank you! And once the players has fully dropped in transition (hip flexion)
Chest is the engine + force direction (from Don’t Lift the Arms vid, too) = straight flushes! Thanks, gents!
Aye!!!! Love hearing that! Keep it up! ❤️❤️
Thanks
Awesome!!
Perfect Drills
Let’s go!!
Any vidoe i can watch to figure out why i might be topping the ball in the system?
We can absolutely make one for you! Easy quick fixes within the system would be to drop and stay dropped in through the strike (maintained hip flexion). Keep us posted
This video so so so important
Right on!!
Great video, some good nuggets here.
Thanks so much!!! 🙏🙏
I am having problem taking this into a larger swing ? Any Idea ?
Probably not alone, there are other moving parts through the load phase and transition that also need to be mastered
Really grasping the chest being more dominant than the legs. Feels over the top. But it’s kinda over the top from the inside
Doesn’t have to feel over the top #underrow #underspiral
How to blend them so I can play the champion tour please
Heck yes!!
Does pitching use the same way of impact?
It can! Depends on the shot
Thanks, great video I now have some first class drills that I can do inside (since we have had 2 feet of snow in the past week) that will definitely help improve my swing
Where you living brother???

I don't how to put into words so I apologize if this makes absolutely no sense. I also do not want to suggest that I think you all are wrong about this. It's just hard to put this stuff into words and it's very easy to misinterpret.
3:42, I used to do this and yes it most certainly does not work but I don't entirely understand the idea that the arms are dragged through the strike. feels like but the arms definitely swing. They just don't swing down at the ground. They also don't necessarily swing up either. It feels like my arms swing in a perfect circle around my torso. And practicing the impact position allows me to understand where in the arc of that swing the strike is going to occur. So if I want an open impact with a little less loft, then I need to get a feel for the strike occurring earlier in the arc of the arm swing. And I can achieve this by a delaying the swing of the arms relative to the pivot of the body. But not all the way until the club head is on the back of the ball.
Definitely don’t want to drag on the arms, they still fire. Just are appropriate time 🙏
So the stuff you talk about with the “infinity movement” of the hands… Is that what anyone with a good golf swing is doing? I’ve taken countless lessons and watched countless more videos. No one has ever explained that to me. Just want to make sure that if I start practicing that that I’m not doing something unorthodox. FWIW, it does make sense.
Great question. Would say that most high level players move the instrument in this fashion. Not all, there are outliers, but most.
Thank you for the video.
It is always helpful
I accepted your swing mechanism and result is good.
So I got low launch and high spin wedge shot.
But problem is long iron and woods. Impact and backspin is fine but launch angle is too low(under 10degrees/attack angle about -10degrees).
Is there any solution or tips?
Would love to see that action for sure. Definitely loads of ways to manage the bottom. Might check out our wedge vs driver video or distance/speed video with driver describing different forces to help you manage the bottom
@@elitegolfschools thank you. I watched the video(driver and wedge)then, within long clubs, should I manage force levels somewhere between driver and wedges?
@@김재호-n8o exactly! That’s a good way to go about it!
@@elitegolfschools Much appreciated!
what club do you usually suggest using for drilling/learning your system?
All of them really… but something mid is good for sure!
Offsetting forces?
Definitely have some of that at all times in the golf swing
Wish you guys had a school on Oahu.
Don’t temp us!! One of the most beautiful spots on 🌎
Well, it can get quite boring golfing year round with average highs ranging from 80-85°F (26-29°C) and average lows ranging from 65-70°F (18-21°C). 😉@@elitegolfschools Seriously would appreciate your pedagogy out here.
Great video gents! I would subscribe to your channel twice if I could 👍.
lol! You’re the best! Thanks so much!!
I have no idea how to get the feeling of the chest to move the club lol
Your arms are connected to your chest, and the hands are connected to the arms 🤔 arms aren’t connected to the pelvis!
I’ve always had issues with rolling the club but the one video where you guys explained right hand extension plus pronation is game changer. Problem is I have the yips on moving the club away from the ball lol.
❤
🙏🙏
Gankis!
This is a nieman type of swing right?
One of our favorites! But all about managing each individual’s system ❤️
Why's everything a "complex" or "system" (e.g. "hand complex")? Seems like the language adds an unnecessary layer of complexity.
Just a way of saying a region. Just our way of using language my man 🙏🙏
