    The reason they picked Quebec City and not Montreal is because they knew there would be more people who act like they have a giant stick shoved up their ass therefore making it funnier lol. I almost died at the end when he said "do you hear that, that's the sound of nobody giving a shit"

      +Sheppy99 Here's what a pansy country this is: the day after this originally aired, an NDP (what a surprise) member of parliament raised this sketch during question period and wanted to know what the government was going to do about it!! Honest to God, that is the mentality of the socialist assholes in Canada.

    I got to go to Triumph's show for free in Montreal (my hometown) in the summer of 2004 after he did this segment...my older brother (who used to be an underground rapper back then) actually opened for him, so I got to go for free. Triumph started the show by saying, "Pardonnez-moi, mes quebecois...I only thought that you could take a fucking joke!!!" 😏

      Maxime Schmitt Thanks pal. In reality I've only learned the English little by little by watching tv. Especially with Jerry Seinfeld in the 90's. I still have a lot to learn.by the way this little silly "war" between Anglos and Francos would never happen if everybody would be bilangual. If people in Quebec city refuse to speak English that's fine!! They just don't know all what they're missing. That's all.

And that doesn't include the millions of dollars spent outside of the province to print products in both French and English. Or the extra money spent by regular citizens to learn french to get government jobs, at both the provincial and federal levels.

    I know, that's what I'm talking about. This is just some TV skit, this is not satire. I'm not saying that it's not funny or that satire is better or whatever, this is just two different things

    They're theoretically bilingual; English classes are mandatory from grade 1 an up. However, lot of the interviewees seemed pretty old, so maybe their education in English wasn't so consistent. Several of the people also seemed to be tourists from France. And this is Quebec City we're talking about; the people there don't have many opportunities to practice speaking English, and maybe they had a hard time understanding Triumph's accent. The situation would've been different closer to Montreal.

    btw, I found it funny and still love Triumph although like most ignorant americans he mixes France's stereotypes (wine, beret) with Quebec's. And for all those like Jason Laughlin who don't like us, guess what? We don't like you either

    @mattysea And what if you have to go through Quebec? That's not the problem of Quebec. You can go on train or in car without any problem, just like an American from Michigan goes to Canada in train or in bus or in car. That's not an excuse you mention mate. Quebec was a French territory, and anglophone territories were not part of quebec nor viceversa. I don't understand what's your problem exactly. Maybe fear.

  • @MrCloutip

    @mattysea SO, YOU'RE SAYING JUST THE SAME i SAID ABOUT qUEBEC, THAT THEY WANT TO "BREAK AWAY" (YOU MEAN, GET INDEPENDENCE). IF THEY WANT TO KEEP THE CURRENCY OR NOT ITS NOT THE IMPORTANT FACT.

  • @MrCloutip
    @MrCloutip 12 лет назад

    Stupid thing. Independance means that we want to be considered like any other independant nation of the world. Not more, not less. We have an Open Source Everthing mentality.
