Triumph is really funny, but there's not a lot of give and take. None of the people he interviews play along with it, they all just look really uncomfortable.

Oh, man, first they thought it'd be fun, but boy, they didn't know what would be coming. Insults are insults, you can't fake the hurt, you'll always see something in their face. Judd Apatow took it pretty well, but overall, everybody was having an enema, except nobody feels clean afterwards.
I think it's because they almost always get their asses kissed by everyone who interviews them that an interviewer that insults them is so alien.
Blackwolf, NY's Unofficial Wizard, gave it back to Triumph, and just kept setting up Triumph for better jokes.

I love the moments when Triumph's mannerisms show. It makes him a much more compelling character and a lot funnier. The jokes are obviously funny on their own but it shows that Rob Smigel puts a lot of thought into all aspects of Triumph's character.
Specifically at 1:31 when he looks wistfully off into the distance instead of at Rudd, 4:12 when he excitedly opens his mouth after getting him to say nanu nanu, it's all so good

I actually enjoy Apatow's films, Knocked Up was great, but this was pretty hilarious. Best line (paraphrasing) - "You know the new version of Final Cut has a great feature where you can edit stuff out off the film. You should try it." Brilliant.

Yeah, some people here think he was bothered by the jokes, but I thought he really got a kick out of them. I mean, why was Smigel even in the movie? Apatow enjoys his work, and wanted him in the film.

I do think Smigel's some kind of genius, but his remit is pretty fuckin narrow you have to admit. Insulting people as a dog puppet and doing impressions of Arnie and Dubya, that's about it so far.
It's a shame because I sense that he could do pretty much anything comedic he turned his hand to. His comedy show about the 2016 election was funnier than everyone else's put together. I will never forget him pretending to be Trump visiting black neighbourhoods in a tank, or when he set up a dunk-the-Muslim stand at a GOP rally...

Why should anyone NEED to lighten up when someone (or something --- dog puppet) are attempting to become famous at others expense by spewing trash from its mouth. There is no humor involved here, just stuff to entertain those people who have no depth in themselves so they laugh when good people are rudely insulted. No one ever grows by belittling others.

David Smith I feel bad that they take it personally. Yes the humor is kinda funny because there are sprinkles of truth in it. I'm sure megan foxx has been told many times that she doesn't act that well, and ya that sucks to hear, and perhaps she's not an emotional state to laugh at it, but when you become secure with yourself you can laugh at yourself. This is only wrong to do when the people are taking it personally and getting upset about it, but it's very possible to do this in a way that both the recipient and other people nearby laugh harmlessly. I agree often this kind of humor is used to put people down and isn't constructive,but in this context it's clear that it's over exaggerated, not intended to hurt anybody, and mostly a chance to sit back and laugh at yourself, which we all should do. Granted when they do take it personal they should step back and I think the guy (playing the dog) handled that fairly well, you could argue he should have stopped sooner with megan in particular, but overally he did alright imo.

Everyone just seemed uncomfortable with the whole thing. It kind of seemed like they cut out some stuff with Megan Fox, so maybe she got it kind of rough before the jokes that made it. Well, not much of a "joke" when he's repeating the same mean things people say about her. I think it was so awkward because they guy who does Triumph is part of the cast, and it's weird having a dude you know insult the shit out of you. Y'know, versus some random dude on the street holding a dog puppet...which is usually the schtick.
