I’m sincerely going to cry when The Anthem changes from “our Queen” to “our King”. When that sober time finally comes, Her Majesty The Queen’s departure from this life will be devastatingly sad.
Bye Liz! You've had a great life, feather-bedded by the populace whether it liked it or not. Ted Heath quietly pushed a Bill which ensures that your income can never reduce; stuff the rest!
I did. Today whilst watching her funeral. I cried. I cried for the loss to my country. I cried with joy at the peaceful transfer to His Majesty the King. God save the King.
As an Organist, I can tell you that it is the most amazing feeling to 'cut in' on the Trumpeters....Probably the most thrilling is our National Anthem, after the Gordon Jacob Fanfare...Chills, every time! ❤
Nobody does pomp and ceremony like the British do. The UK also has the most famous and the grandest monarchy headed by their regal and dutiful sovereign, Elizabeth II.
This fanfare was written for Elizabeth II, first played at her coronation I believe, but I do hope Charles keeps it when the time comes eventually - I'd be sad not to hear it again.
@@ianrobertson5798 Is that true? Why shouldn't it have been incorporated into the Anthem by now? If trumpeters are not available an orchestral arrangement or an organ's brass functions would do quite well.
Yes, It's been the Anthem of the United Kingdom since September, 1745. And finally when Queen Victoria became Queen in June 20th, 1837 this became the anthem. If a King if the current monarch at the Moment it is "God Save the King" but if a Queen if the current monarch at the time it is "God Save the Queen".
Cheers and always trying to be respectful of others peoples country's cultures is what I'm trying to say here in American English use of words here on RUclips.
She was the UK. I do feel sad she is gone but I am more sad that she had to endure the pain of the last couple of years. The media and the public held her to that commitment of service until the end. Maybe if we hadn’t she may not have had to endure that pain. There will never be another. I don’t know what that means for the monarchy but a lot of countries like Australia didn’t want to remove her as head of state while she was alive. That may change soon.
@@iwasglad122 Although I now live in one of England's ancient Cathedral cities. My family didn't have any English connections. The 'anthem' was concocted by Handel, grovelling for recognition from the German George, added the ghastly verse about the Jacobean Scots(never sung) can't think why, we have so many English nationalists around these days. Musically, as an anthem, it is truly crap.

what did she ever do? Curious. Oversaw destruction of England and sat by?
This time has come 😥
You can start crying 😢

The trumpet fanfare transitioning to the enormous rumble of the organ is spectacular.
And the accompaniment by the trumpeters during the verse truly magnificent.
by Gordon Jacob, truly amazing indeed

The queen be like I love how everyone sings about me and my long reign!

Definitely stays… as God Save the King
The Gordon Jacob fanfare is wonderful. It tells me something special is being celebrated and lifts my spirit.
The fanfare at the start is "blow yours socks off" superb! Love it.
Haha god old England love us
Rest In Peace queen hard to imagine England without you
🇺🇸❤🇬🇧
This fanfare is so special it’s so regal and British 🇬🇧 god save the King 👑 RIP Elizabeth the great x
A wonderful bit of pomp and circumstance. Thanks for posting.
God bless her

Plenty of English wine, British cars, British shoes and British watches in the UK. Who wears watches these days?
The song turned my passport into a British one.
I have to speak to those who did not like the Vídeo.
Gordon Jacob, what a great Fanfare!
British guards never disappoint
Ive played this a lot of times but only once with full fanfare team. Ive even conducted it once. God it is good and makes your hair stand on end!
R.i.p. Queen 🕊️
Long to reign over us, indeed!
It's the Platinum Jubilee year! Long live the Queen!
"...my whole life, whether it be long or short..."
A couple more years and she will pass Louis XIV of France as the longest reigning European monarch.
Fantastic!🇧🇷
Wonderful!!!!!!!
One day --> God save the King
This became real things in September 8, 2022
The emperor’s guards were there with their helmets off.
How long was the trumpet at the beginning been apart of the anthem
The Gordon Jacob fanfare was written for the coronation of HM Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. It has been used ever since on special occasions.
Only when her Majesty is present
and when a Hight Court Judge enters the cathedral for the Legal Service in a city
A High Court Judge being the Queen's person at church and at court!

Did they sing this for Queen Victoria too?

Ok I thought so Nicholas but I just didn't want just assume they use it during Queen Victoria's rein.
Understandable and I admire your logic when it comes to this situation, cheers!

Myron Martin The Gordon Jacob version (the Fanfare) was written for the current Queen's Coronation in 1953.

Strange traditions we have.
Oof! don't they look so happy? They look as if everything is going to plan. 😉
so it would be awkward for the queen to sing the national anthem. (and I adore her, just find it funny)
Just as same as she doesn't use cash or a passport or a drivers license. It's all issued in Her name.
