HA, I actually didn't see the mic until halfway through..i'm like. ok, this dude different, but Dave seems like he knows what he is talking about, so i'll stick around. then boom. cord. lol. Thanks for info Dave.
Thanks for the info here. We just bought our house a year ago and have a bathroom sink that started to rust through the bottom. It's undermounted but also has the faucet holes in the actual sink. It was helpful to hear that most undermounted stinks don't actually have the faucet holes in them. Wish us luck!
Thanks man, I just order a 36in cabinet base and I’ll buy a butcher block for muy counter top ,but when to Home Depot and the sink that we like is 33in and i was wondering if I can use it ,but you answer my question thanks 🙏🏻😁
I just got new quartz countertops installed in my Kitchen with undermount sinks. I previously had drop in sinks. Now my plumblng ABS pipes are too high to put the drainage pipe from the new sink into. Does this mean I have to rip out all my existing ABS pipes, and redo it all over again? Any good videos on how to do that for an inexperienced aspiring plumber like myself? Thanks!
That MIGHT be what that means but send me a picture. You can dm me on Instagram or tweet me on twitter @remodelmedia or email me at info@remodelmedia.tv
So i have a undermount countertop stainless steel that has a crack on the counter behind the faucet. I was thinking of replacing it with a drop in sink & cut out the cracked counter behind the sink. I just need to find a sink that can do that. Any suggestions or tips? Thank you
I can give it a shot. Why don’t you send me pictures of your installation along with measurements of the countertop and the cut out and I’ll see what tips I can provide.
@@RemodelMedia I am currently going through this. I will be getting quartz countertops installed my base sink cabinet is a 36' and I want to install a 33' rectangle double bowl kitchen sink. Do you think this will work.
A 33x22 inch sink is perfect for 36x24 inch sink base. As long as the sink base is in good condition you won’t have any problem with the size of the sink.
Why would someone switch from a drop in to under counter? In fact I have no idea why anyone uses under counter sinks to start with. Every under counter I have ever had eventually dropped, and they are a nightmare to work on. I am not talking about 10 years either. The first one I had was in a brand new house and it fell after a year and a half.
Because drop in sinks are a speed bump to wiping down a counter top. Stuff easily get stuck around the edge and requires incessant cleaning. With an undermount, wiping the counter into the sink is easy.
It's not related to caulking; a drop in sink is above the counter, so you don't have a smooth unimpeded surface when wiping the counter. Think of scooting bread crumbs into the sink - they get hung up on the lip of the sink that sits on top of the counter. Caulking just makes sure the crumbs (or whatever) don't end up between the counter and the edge of the drop-in sink. @@luisfonseca2826

If you have a tiled counter top it's probably time to change it for something much better anyway.
