I camp alone (single) and I would still pick the 17B. It gives a place to sleep on those very rare instances it's needed and the bunks can be used for storage space when not used for sleeping.
I purchased a 2022 17B, the roof peeled, so I have lots of water damage. The warranty company decided it was a total loss, so they were gonna put me in a 2023 17B. Would not let me switch to the 17R. This was in January. Now, in the middle of September and they are just getting the paperwork finalized but now I'm getting a 2024 17B. Camping World is gonna then swap me out equal trade in for the 2024 17R I want. So, hopefully, in a few weeks, I'll be in the 17R and not have any roof issues.
I hsve been looking for a year or so. I keep coming back to this one. Bathroom Bathroom Bathroom. Bed, not so much. So much you can do though. Many ideas. Small sofa where dining is or a work bar across. Not much of a inside hangout place. It can work for the price. Upgrade are available. Its nice for starters.
I bought the 2024 Coleman Lantern 17r. I love it for a single person it’s perfect. If you have time Can you explain the solar stuff for it. I’m not understand quite how it works. Thank you
I am definitely not a solar expert. It seems there are a lot of pieces involved to make it work how you want, depending on your need. Hopefully someone else on here will answer for you!

We got the 17R did not come with a spare tire, don't know why so we had to buy one and a mount. The toilet doesn't work, we need to take it back to the dealer to check it out. we put a bigger propane tank on it. and added so nice little hooks under the control panel for keys and whatever. We also got a bigger memory foam mattress. Over all it is a very nice two person camper. We got a Firman dual fuel generator to run the A/C and or the fireplace. We have not tried the water heater yet. After all the fees and charges we were out the door at $20,000. They are cheaper now!.
Your video was good sales pitch. And your model is of course last years. The 2025 model has pretty much the same things except the water heater is now on demand and the cabinets open out instead of up. We just took delivery of ours yesterday from Camping World Calera, Ala.
The really good news is that it can be powered by the jackery 3000 pro with the help, of adapters, and or, an f150 powerboost... Also a inexpensive dual fuel generator... love it and thank you!... Just to add, upgrade to a 40 pound lp tank, it will also support a dual fuel generator, just add water, i would also add that you upgrade to a combination, heater and AC unit.
Im the type of guy that would buy this but do some extra mods.... reseal the roof which is pretty easy....weld supports on the frame underneath especially where the hitch assembly connects to the frame. All cheap and easy mods that will make that thing last a loooong time 😆
Man you guys sure are good at reviews! Seems like a nice camper for it's size and weight. Personally, I won't own a single axle trailer. I have been towing trailers for over 45 years now from singles, tandems, and even a 45' long triple axle 5th wheel beast. Based on my experience, I'd rather have a trailer a little bit heavier with tandem axles. Thank you for the good work that you do!
