I was working the Saturday Jazz Dance bar at the Rams Head, Disley as an 18-year-old in 1968. RIP my LI150, The Scooter rallies and the thousands of like-minded people across the whole UK who gathered for the music (first) and the lifestyle.
Do I Love You is by far the greatest Northern Soul record of all time. I would have loved to have gone to Wigan Casino. My brother (a DJ from a pirate soul radio station in the Sth London area) did and told me how great it was. Alas my brother died over 20yrs ago but Northern Soul lives on.
My wife and I have been going to Zante for many years and love going to Northern Soul Nights in That Bar Tsilivi. Chris Baxter the DJ plays great records and Frank Wilson's song is our favourite. Jivebunny from Scotland.
It's mostly late '60s, early '70s R&B and soul that didn't chart in the US. I remember hearing many of the songs growing up back then. Had no idea those songs created a phenomenon in Northern England. I hope there's still a scene there when I cross the Atlantic in a few years for a vacation in London. That's gonna be a wild experience for sure!

Love this tune ,, walked back down the aisle to this after marrying my soulmate. June 2019. X😁😁😃😄
Seen them dancing at Tiffany's in Blackpool 1978 sixteen years old absolutely gobsmacked it was brilliant
They are really rolling, cutting loose, I mean really, really doing it😀😀👌👌
Can’t stop playing this, so many happy memories and one of the best n/s tracks ever, Thanks

Wow! Things have changed since the mid 80s… Flares are in! Who'd guess that? And no Mohair anywhere? Shame to see so few holding the flame these days but I guess these are the most dedicated diehards, Well done one and all.
Loving the memories of the best days of my life, thanks. RIP my LI150, The Scooter rallies and the thousands of like-minded people across the whole UK who gathered for the music (first) and the lifestyle.
Love the music wish I could dance love to watch them dance
One family no matter what colour age etc we all have one religieon KEEP THE FAITH Northern Soul !!!
Those who claim that the perfect song doesn't exist clearly haven't heard this. 👌
These songs defy age and are as awesome as the day when they were released
My wife and I have been going to Zante for many years and love going to Northern Soul Nights in That Bar Tsilivi. Chris Baxter the DJ plays great records and Frank Wilson's song is our favourite.
Jivebunny from Scotland.
Bring back the good times, KEEP THE FAITH...
Good lad 😁😁😁
They are all gone only memories of this genre of music in our youth of the 70s
Never heard of Northern Soul until a few months back - where have you been all my life? Aloha from Vegas
It's an English phenomenon, started IN the greatest city in the world MANCHESTER!
Goto my other NS videos on uppyraptor49 and welcome to the best music ever♥️😁
Exactly uppy, even though I come from Chester! you can’t beat Northern Soul👏👏
Bless you love it was the best dance in the day. From nottingham. England. 😀
Whenever I hear this great track, I wonder - What the hell went wrong with the country to make it end up the way it is now?
Borders language and culture and our inexcusable lack of defending them for starters. When you dance with the devils you deserve what you get.
people keep voting tory
@@boblloyd6977 In America people keep voting for the dangerous destructive damaging dumbass liberals with always the same result... higher taxes, more big government, less personal responsibility, less quality of life, more regulations, less business, more law breaking and lousier government school systems with bigger and bigger price tags.
If you are English you are a dying breed...me too. be thnkful we saw good times.
@@boblloyd6977 and Labour with its lame leaders are better eh! Need some new parties and ones we can trust for a start..
