My life in the military consisted of arriving at the office at 6am, unlocking, turning on the lights and getting the 2 gallon coffee pot going. My day consisted of typing various memos, promotion papers, duty rosters and other mechanics that keep a company running smoothly. My schedule would be interspersed with trips to Division headquarters to pick up top secret messages, trips to the base post office to pick up the company mail and then sorting said mail. Throw in Thursday afternoon weapons cleaning at the armory, because we had to stand inspection every Friday morning after running our weekly 3 mile run. Once a month I had 24 hour guard duty, usually at the armory and one week of mess duty every 6 months. Periodic gas mask exercises in the CS gas chamber was always fun, as was the yearly Intra Mural Rifle and Pistol Matches, which I was always "volunteered" for. Three or four times a year I'd check out my folding portable office from it's storage at the supply shack and restock the forms, carbon copy sheets, pencils and pens and various other office implements I'd need for a week in the bush during maneuvers. The night before deployment was spent stuffing my rucksack with uniforms, toiletries, mess kit, first aid kit and just about everything you thought you'd need, but trying to keep it light. I still had to roll up my blanket and shelter half poles in my shelter half and strap it to the top of the ruck. Most of the time I felt like I was driving to a normal 10 hour day job, working in an office, with small excursions or errands to break up the monotony. Weekends were usually spent with the wife at our trailer off base, maybe grilling with some buds and sucking down some cold ones or driving to her mother's house for the weekend. @@badgerattoadhall I can't believe something I read of reddit with one person claiming that most veterans don't have any disability pay.
You'd think that everybody knows specially in the army and marines would be getting some small amount of at least a ten percent disability check a month when they get out
@@golfery5119 I knew a former Navy man that had every sort of military disability there was.
Including ringing ears (don't know how to spell the real word)
"Hey it's 10% right there and they can't prove they are not ringing"
@@badgerattoadhall thanks for sharing. I have my tinnitus documented now by the way so I hope that at least counts.
of course they pick the most high speed SGT in the whole battalion. show us the crusty 8 year SPC who doesn't care anymore
Love having that 101 combat patch. We’ve had 2 younger brothers of guys in my platoon join up for the 101. 2 generations in one platoon so far. That patch has a draw to it. The 101st arguably has the most esprit de corps and pride than any other unit in the main Army that also rivals the Marine Corps. 1-61 Cavalry 2008-2011, get some boys were rooting for ya young troopers
This is beautiful

That’s not our greatest strength
It seems like it’s more of our Achilles heel
@@kingslate1 yep, living the Army values is what makes the Army strong

The diversity of our military isn't a weakness in the slightest, and thinking so is purely out of blatant ignorance.

Here’s a real day in the life
05: wake up (you’re still drunk from the night before)
06: show up to the COF for pt a 3-5 mile run
0650: vomit the remaining alcohol
0745: think about how you should have joined the airforce on your wait to breakfast
0930: you get smoked by your TL for falling out of the run
After getting the living shit smoked out of you, you find out you’re on a connex detail, you proceed to spend the next 4 hours unpacking a connex looking for a tough box the PL needs a tarp inside of and then proceed to repack the connex knowing damn well you’re going to need something else out of there in a week
1130: lunch
1300: you show back up to work and get screamed at by your PSG for your hair (it’s in regs but he’s on his 3rd divorce and doesn’t have a relationship with his children, you are his relief)
1330: sit in the cof until 1700 thinking to yourself “why the fuck am I still here”
Why so many people who want to join the military, want to join the army (in today's time when you know the air force and coast guard are much less shitty in comparison) and want to do peacetime garrison infantry is so far beyond comprehension
What are these people expecting?
Let’s keep it 100 I was infantry for a long time you forgot to about the log days at the Motorpool smoking PVT’s because of boredom
I remember 90% of the time in the infantry you're doing yard work. Mowing lawns and sh**. And 10% of time training.
yep... still holds true today
The deadliest janitors in the world.
Hell yeah look at these young Hooahs getting back to what being a Soldier is all about
The Best MOS 💙

😎💪🏻🇺🇸❤️
Aviation is the best
When did they get all of that amazing equipment?
I was in 10th Mountain at Ft Polk and we didn’t get any good equipment or cool vehicles like that.
I was also in a scout platoon and that sniper shouldn’t be doing cqb banging doors open lol.
Overall, it was a decent experience that helped me to grow as an individual and as a man.
God Loves the Infantry!
A former army infantryman, the best job ever, hooah 🇺🇲
LOL
Hoooah!!!💯
2005-2014 , both active and guard, 2-27IN / 2-135IN. Had a great leadership group in both when I was there. Unfortunately a couple injuries put me on the shelf for a little while.
Wolfhounds!!
Yay Army!!!
Where's the part about cutting grass, tanning rocks or sweeping the rain water?
You sound like you got chaptered out as a PV2 for a DUI and were one of those guys who married a stripper and bought a Camaro at 40% interest.
Good morning. Men.. total war pre-work out.. I'm training hard..! You have my support..!
Happy birthday!!!🎉🇺🇸
Airborne infantry! A/2/504th PIR. Strike hold!
Go Blackheart from a former Blackheart 97-99
They should do a commercial where it's just the Pat Tillman documentary.
They need to take some recruitment notes out of Regiment's playbook..
You forgot to show how to mop and wax the barracks floor, endless weapons cleaning…eighteen SHARP briefings a year…endless ruck marches followed by digging fighting positions then filling them back in. This vid DOES NOT show real life of 11B…it’s actually WAY more fun…most days😂 Follow Me!
And remember recruits your back pain will not be service connected related...
When will the 10th Mountain and 4th ID swap places? When will 25th ID become part of the XVIIIth Abn Corps? When will the Army bring back LRS units?
God Bless Flores 🇺🇸
Im going to take my ACFT soon and ship out after that, im also doing infantry. Wish me luck😂❤
i'm planning to sign as a parachute rigger when i'm 18
Go 11b
@@IGMELVARGAS i would but i want an 100% chance to be airborne
@Grizzliegaming1 They can give you airborne in your contract regardless of the mos, otherwise what you will be doing is preparing the parachutes for the rest of your contract
@@Grizzliegaming1 Bud, I just want you to know that your best chance of being an actual paratrooper, is signing an infantry contract with Option 4.
Option 4 gives you a spot in Airborne school, and you are almost guaranteed(especially as an 11) to go into an Airborne unit.
You can definitely get Airborne on other MOS', but 11b/11x is the way to go if you're wanting to actually live the life of a paratrooper, plus you'll be way more likely to get picked up for RASP if you want to be an Airborne Ranger.
@@_DMNO_ oh alright, thank you. not planning on ranger but i'll look into option 4. i think infantry will be a lot more interesting, thank you!
hes just like me exactly like me, my brother was in the army and im attempted for a 2nd time to join the army. Im thinking about MP or what my brother did a Cav Scout but i guess Cavs are dying out so i might do infantry
Love from Cuba, I hope to join soon. Depends on USCIS
Prospective recruits, what you're seeing is exactly 1% of your daily life. 99% will be full of Motorpool Mondays, Layouts and formations for formations. You will never use most of the equipment they advertise here. Have fun though...
They forgot to mention 24 hr CQ duty and Fire watch 😂. Mopping in the rain and checking for soft spots on armored vehicles…
The 24 hour CQ duty as well as doing vehicle maintenance can happen in pretty much any MOS in the army especially in a forscom unit, but yeah the mopping rain water and constant janitor work is more of an infantry thing
@@golfery5119yup because I had 24 hour staff duty not too long ago
I want to be infrantry, I scored a 29 on ASVAB this past Friday so I’m qualified for the 09 Mike Program. Only thing is I need a waiver, today I’m showing documentation of my expunged/dismissed case it was a 3rd degree felony Human smuggling. But there was no guns drugs or violence involved. It was and is my only charge ever, what are the chances of it being approved? Really want to join the army and go to the program and score high on ASVaB then pass basic and AIT.
You should be good , tell your recruiter you want to be in the infantry etc , why you want to join infantry ?

11B4P 2/505th Eighty Deuce for one hitch sounding off...
Yep, they left out a load of details both good, bad and indifferent.
Love them shades at the 3 minute mark...
They should do a commercial where three females get special training at Fort Benning before going to Ranger School. There's a one star general who checks in on them. The Cadre don't let them quit and they get special treatment. One has a book deal set before they even graduate. Oh wait, that already happened.
