Brilliant video and very nice presentation style, You are the first person to do this comparison that I’ve seen & personally for value I’d go PRX but the Tudor is also very attractive…keep up the good work!
killer video thanks a lot but when i look on accuracy diagram for PRX it’s all over the place i would not say most of points are at +5 seconds mark could you clarify this?
I got to agree. Both ooze 80s cool but the Tudor Royal is really something else in person. Wonderful interaction with the light from the polished and brushed surfaces
Thanks for this, I've been looking at both of these for myself recently. To me, the bracelet and case on the Tudor make it worth the extra money. The PRX case is just "flat" on top, whereas the Royal has some slight curves and angles. The Tudor looks like it's worth the extra money. The only thing I dislike is the Roman numerals. The bezel is weird but I could live with it. If the Royal just had bar or stick markers I'd buy one.
I'm so glad you mentioned the Tudor Royal clasp centering issue for people with small wrists as that's been a huge issue for me since getting the Tudor Royal SG 41mm. My wrist is around 6.2/3" which basically means I have to wear the watch with all spare links removed, but because of the poor bracelet design and the lack of extra removable links on one side, it creats the exact issue you describe in the video, the clasp ends up sitting to the side and sticking out beyond the wrist making it a bit unconfortable to wear and causing a kink in the bracelet when wearing. I wish I'd have noticed this before I bought the watch but it's too late now. I'm trying to sort out the issue by finding someone who would be willing to remove 1 or 2 of the premenant links but not many people are willing to do that since it requires drilling into the bracelet and there's risk of damage. TLDR - The watch is amazing for people with medium sized wrists and bigger, for people witth small wrists (I'd say less than 7") the bracelet could cause some issues depending on how fussy you are so keep that in mind. I hope this little msg will help some potential buyers with small wrists and won't leave them in the position that I am in atm. :)
Oh man you described the laborous task I went through to get it to fit perfectly and it still didn’t. I think the solution is to have a butterfly clasp for both sides to meet in the middle which Tudor didn’t do. I had to live with the clasp off centered and wear the watch loose. Wasn’t ideal at all. I’m glad you wrote this comment
@@villegas24 Yeah but unfortunately you don’t get that luxury with integrated bracelet watches. I’m currently trying to find a person that has the right tools to make alterations to the bracelet by removing two permanent links from it. Will update how it goes if I manage to find someone :) Wish me luck.
Here is a quick update on my Tudor Royal and the issue I’ve been having with it as mentioned earlier. I ended up taking the watch back to the Tudor AD where I bought it and explained to them the issue, I requested to have 2 permanent links broken out of the bracelet on the 6 o’clock side, they agreed to give it a go by sending it to Rolex and seeing what can be done. 2 months later I received the watch pretty much how I wanted it, the clasp now sits centred on my wrist and I no longer have the issue I described earlier. So if anyone is having the same issue as me just take your watch back to a Tudor AD and request to have the alteration done, also I didn’t have to pay anything for the alteration which is nice. Hope this info is useful for some of you.
The bracelet/clasp criticism is definitely valid. Especially me being a complete sucker for comfort & the bracelet/strap aficionado that i am. But after a few back and forths with the watchmaker sizing my royals bracelet, giving me confused facial expressions due to my analysis, I quickly realized if the fold over clasp where reversed it would sit so much better on the wrist. Although it is a bit awkward at first latching the clasp in the opposite direction, it is a world of difference in comfort. Once the watchmaker sizing my bracelet realized what i was trying to do, he smiled & nodded his head with clarification. Now my only criticism is my wrist diameter being between sizes, half links would of been perfect. But that’s an issue i have with mostly my entire collection, unfortunately i just happen to have one of those wrist that lands direct center of two sizes. Great video & comparison! 👍🏻
Thanks so much for watching. I agree with your thoughts on the clasp. It makes sense why some brands use a butterfly clasp for integrated bracelets though I’m not a fan of the look or execution, the Tudor is so close to being great in the bracelet comfort
I have the S&G 38mm Royal and the PRX panda Chrono. I'll say that the Royal fit and finish and comfortability is superior but as the price suggest. The PRX Chrono quality is good for the money, especially with the Valjoux movement but isn't as good as the Royal

6:50 There is no flaw. You're forcing the clasp and placing its hinge in a completely unnatural position. This position would be impossible when on wrist. There is no issue. You're misusing the clasp.
Thank you for this perfectly made comparison! I myself am in the market for a Royal vs a (future) powermatic 80 PRX in 35mm, both with blue dials. This comparison is absolutely useful! The bracelet design mistakes in the Royal made me think: ok, it's a Tudor, but the Royal seems quite overpriced if compared to the PRX.
I own the PRX. The lume is literally useless. With a UV light and pitch black the hands will glow for 5 mins tops. Love it tho! That power reserve is really clutch. It gets grabbed more than most because of the fact when your in a hurry it'd always good to go

Hey Larry, where did you end up on your search? I do a lot of shopping ... I'd say Tudor for what it is may be the most elegant choice at that price point. But I might also challenge you -- why do you need a swiss automatic? Would you consider something else? There are loads and loads of gorgeous watches under $2k.... and plenty of excellent watches under $1k. There are also pretty fancy quartz watches. None of those watches will have Tudor warranty (a couple will) and consistently reliable build quality. All the best. From what I have seen....
Excellent video! Stumbled on it while doing my due research for the PRX. Would you recommend it as a first Swiss watch in a steadily growing collection? Would love to get your insights.
Thank you Tony! It's a great starter point into swiss watches and I've own a few- and it'll hang all day with other pieces that are far more expensive. It has everything one would want from a swiss watch- detailed and interesting dial, exceptional mechanical accuracy and finish work. The areas that the Swiss are usually known for. Because of its integrated bracelet It's also unique enough to occupy space in a collection that will have pieces come and go.
I'm planning to add one to my small but growing collection. So far I have a bb58 blue and plan to add this. Then I'm going to try my luck with a oyster perpetual green face in 41mm. I'd advise you to add it to yours also if you haven't already!
Im not a huge fan of either but if i had to chose i would buy the PRX. At nearly 2k Tudor is powered by a simple non-cosc sellita and the sunburst dial with theese shiny markers looks cheap. Prx got matte textured dial which makes it classier.
I agree, I dont understand the attraction of the cheesy shiny bling look of the Tudor Royal. Some even compared Tudor design to the legendary Vacheron Overseas 😂, no way! Also the Sellita power reserve is crap. I’m no huge Tissot fan but this PRX model with its simple elegant understated finish wins hands down.
5:48 How would the bracelet fold upwards like that in normal usage??? 6:50 I don't see how the Tudor clasp will ever come undone like that in day to day wear?! No way would anyone suddenly decide to put a finger inbetween like you did, and thus release the clasp.
Both watches are excellent. Thanx for showing us these watches. For me, the Tudor Royal is a nicer watch. However, I also love the Tissot. Personally, I would shop around and buy a used Tissot PRX in quartz. I have seen them used for 300 dollars. I would buy the Tissot for its looks as an occasional dress watch. I wouldn't wear it all the time so grab and go quartz is how I would like this watch. Oh, I have an old Seiko Chronograph from the 90's that has a case and band like the Tissot. I don't like it because I can't read the dial with my bad eye site. Its a silver dial chrono with silver hands. I think the visibility would be good with the nice blue dials on both of these watches.
Thank you for watching! Also I should mention tissot is releasing a 35mm version and a 40mm on a leather strap which will be interesting. These 70s style cases are just too cool!
Since I shopped both of these pretty hard (bought neither), I can appreciate the strengths of each. I love the dial on the automatic PRX... and i have the powermatic 80 in a different Tissot - and really appreciate that movement. But the flat case of the PRX wears large and remarkably 'clunky on my 7.25" wrist. I could not get it to lay down and wear comfortably. Whereas the Royal is a gateway to luxury watches. I understand the PRX attraction. But it's correctly positioned as an accessible sports watch with that integrated throwback design. The Royal has much finer finishing. Everything about the watch is better than the PRX for me except maybe the small, inelegant clasp. But the idea of comparing these watches doesn't really make sense to me. Each is for different people and different purposes. That said, I would have absolutely bought the PRX if it came out in 38mm instead of 35mm. And though I think the Royal has few equals at its price point, the clasp concerns will probably keep me out of that watch also.
I just got the prx auto in 18k rose gold. I have to say the tudor doesnt look as good especially with the fluted bezel on the prx. I can't say how the Tudors braclet wears but it does look more interesting. Great comparison
This was a good comparison. I definitely want the PRX Powermatic, though I am trying to figure out where to fit it into my purchasing with all the other watches I want. I had not seen much in the way of videos on the Tudor. While I think it's a decent release, the only watch I really want Roman numerals on is one made by Cartier. They just feel too old fashioned otherwise. I honestly think that is what is turning a lot of the watch enthusiasts off. I wonder what it would look like with Black Bay markers. That could be incongruous, but maybe not. Anyway, thanks for the comparison.
I loved my time with the Cartier Tank even tho it but was the Tank Solo model the dial really made that watch special. It’s the only watch I really regret selling in the past few years. Thanks for watching
I own the Champagne Tudor Royal Day and Date. I may be biased but this comparison is heavily weighted in favor of the tudor, not even close. the prx looks cheap and unimaginative.. thnx for the video!

Tudor royal looks like the omega constellation Manhattan from 1985 with president+blocky omega chimera bracelet and thunderbird bezel sans the claw, and dial like Rolex... Kinda strange and not the best combo tbh, kinda confusing identity...
I get this, it borrows dna from other watches and it isn’t original. I find it interesting that Tudor took a year to bring this over seas from Asia. Apparently it was a hit in Asian markets. Keeping in mind the omega constellation sells well in Asia too
I ordered the royal and regretted it. She's way too small for me. For this price, I expected much better. Many say it's better in real life but for me it's the opposite. She looks better in photos. I returned it the same day. I will no longer order online. I'm going straight to the store now. I got the PRX and it was much better for me.

It’s an issue, for sure. I have a very small wrist (woman here) and have had my clasp on the 34mm Black Bay come undone at least a few times.
Great vedio !
How many centimeters(or inches)is your wrist?
16.5? 17?
Thank you! It is about 16cm
@@perpetuality thanks :)
The Tudor Royal is beautiful in person, even incomparable to the powermatic.
Good review and comparison thanks! I cant wait to sell few of my watches and get that beauty blue PRX :)
It would be better if royal did not have date, so you don't have to adjust it very often due to the short power reserve.
Great vid bruv
Thank you Ty!
Great video... some slight audio edit errors. Keep leveling up!
Will do. When I noticed it was just too late to do something about it but I’m happy you caught it! Thanks for watching Jason
I know that the Tudor is 2 mm smaller, but it looks comparable in size with the Tissot when you put them side by side
I just got the prx auto in 18k rose gold. I have to say the tudor doesnt look as good especially with the fluted bezel on the prx. I can't say how the Tudors braclet wears but it does look more interesting. Great comparison
Could have compared it with tissot gentleman powermatic, from the dials perspective
Awesome video
It would look like the black bay 36 or 41.
I Have Tudor Royal , very Nice Watch
Great Review
Thank you!
This person loves the Tudor Royal!!!
What is the size of your wrist?
It is 6.5in
@@perpetuality thank you :)
I own the Champagne Tudor Royal Day and Date. I may be biased but this comparison is heavily weighted in favor of the tudor, not even close. the prx looks cheap and unimaginative.. thnx for the video!
You can feel the difference when you hold these watches, Tissot feels cheap compared to the Royal but it’s nice for the price
This person loves the Tudor royals!
The tudor is let down with the 40 hour reserve. This is where the prx shines. I own the tudor, looks very nice.
Does it matter if both are automatic? I can understand 38hr being an issue if you have a manual wind
Love that Tudor 😍
It’s a really solid watch for the money 😃
If the PRX was 38mm, it would be the much better proposition, all things considered..
My vote...Royal!
Is Tissot a underpriced watch brand ? I think so .. prx ,gentleman, seastar etc.
I look at the price and choose PRX. If I have enough money I would buy Tudor Royal.
I bought the 41mm Tudor Royal with day date and the PRX.
Tudor royal hands down
i just wish tudor gave us fluted bezel all the way around instead of partially fluted, looks weird.
why 4 is wrong ?
I’d love to see a Tudor royal vs Christopher ward 12
I love the prx but I need that tudor
If tissot made a 38 mm I would have purchased already
I sold my Rotal 38mm because the bad clasp. The watch case + dial + design is beautiful but the clasp burn them all...
I tried Tissot at Macy's today and hated it. The bracelet seems cheap and I thought I'd like the dial texture, but it just looks bad.
6:28 When the chuff kicks in
Or a soulful possession 😂
6:31 you can talk two tracks simultaneously :)
I have an idea but both haha. 35mm Ice blue and Tudor 38mm
As someone who owns both, they are very lovely pieces!
I own the Tudor do you think I should get the prx as well?
Update: I bought both and they’re both rather different
Bold move! Which one are you getting along with more?
@@perpetuality It's absolutely the royal. Wears so well on wrist.
@@eugenevedensky6071 I am glad you dig it, really great watch for the money that i feel is misunderstood except to those who experienced it first hand
@@perpetuality I really can't imagine how folks see it as ugly, it is an absolute stunner.
@@eugenevedensky6071 I think it’s a tough one as photos and videos don’t do it justice. Each time I’ve seen one in person it’s immediately caught my attention 👍
Since I bought my PRX I am constantly surprised by its wearability.
I would buy the Tudor if it had stick indices and not Roman numbers.
I do very much like the Maurice L Aikon but I feel it looks to much like royal oak
I was cross shipping these two!
Did you decide on one? 😃
@@perpetuality In my heart I know I want the Royal, so I'll have to save for a bit ;(
Was finally able to put my hands on a PRX. The Royal towers over the PRX when it comes to quality, polish and detail. The PRX is outclassed.
A watch 4x the price towers over a 4x cheaper watch? Thank you captiain obvious. Tell us more…
@@matyasd007 This video compared the Tudor and the Tissot. I made a comment regarding this comparison. If a comment can't be made regarding the comparison of these two watches, which two should I comment on?
