  • THE TREVI, ROME, ITALY
This video of the Trevi Fountain in Rome, Italy was taken in August 1994 with an 8mm Sony camcorder. The Trevi is one of the most popular tourist spots in the city. People love to visit and toss coins into the fountain while making a wish especially in the evenings. It was designed by Italian architect Nicola Salvi and completed by Giuseppe Pannini and others. It is the largest Baroque fountain in Rome and the most famous fountain in the world.
The Trevi fountain was featured in several films, including ROMAN HOLIDAY (1953), THREE COINS IN THE FOUNTAIN (1954), LA DOLCE VITA (1960), SABRINA GOES TO ROME )1998), and THE LIZZIE McCGUIRE MOVIE (2003).
TREVI came from the Latin word TRIVIUM, which means intersection of three streets. The TREVI fountain is right at the center of these three streets: De 'Crocicchi Street, Poli Street and Delle Muratte Street.
