LUIS SHOPPING AT DEL AMO MALL

After visiting our home in PVE and going to the scenic sites of our city, we accompanied our beloved cousin Luis to the Del Amo Mall. When we took this video, that mall is the biggest in the USA. The video camera we used for this video was also the latest and most expensive at the time. It was also a lot larger than the video cameras today, not to mention the higher resolutions they provide. Unlike today's cameras, the cameras 32 years ago used an 8 mm tape which is larger than today's iPhone which definitely could take better videos.
Technology has improved so much since 1990. This video shows several big stores on Hawthorne Blvd., in Torrance that are no longer there today. Two of them are Mervyns and Toys R Us. We wonder what killed them. Is it the internet?
From Del Amo Mall, we enjoyed a delicious dinner at Mami King Restaurant in the Torrance Restaurant row at the corner of Torrance and Hawthorne Boulevards. From there, we shopped for Pinoy delicacies at the Sampaguita Filipino Store in the City of Carson. After picking up some Pinoy "chicherias", we drove back to San Pedro Port where the MV Dole Ecuador was docked and waiting for Luis.
