8:37 - I'm impressed that they created a character who was half human and half snake and didn't just automatically write him off as a monster!

Greek person here! I really appreciate the fact that you make these videos for people to feel interested in Greece and it's history (myths being a huge part of it). I have to say, your pronunciation of the words is really funny. They're wrong but it's super adorable! Keep up the great work!!!! I could binge watch your videos for hours even if I know the stories better than I know my own name!
Also fun fact: Arachne means spider

Athena's difference with Ares is that Athena's especiality is planning and tactics meanwhile Ares is more combat-wise. That means neither is as good when not partnered with each other.

Like I think Ares holds back or Zeus protects Athena cause as we know men are much stronger than women. So I think Ares could do some serious damage to Athena if they were on an even playing field

Except these aren't mere men and women, they are gods and their sex is much less relevant. Zeus doesn't need to protect Athene, she simply is stronger than most gods, male or female. Ares definitely doesn't hold back, he is just weak. Read Iliad book 21 and see for yourself.

Oh boy how I need JON. I never got this deep into Greek mythology. Without Jon, I think I would be lost. This culture is interesting and when I was reviewing cultures, I was having some difficulties with the Greeks. That was 40 years ago. I guess I just needed for Jon to be born and educated so he could bring some clarity to this subject for me.

Zeus has a headache, had one of the other Gods (Ares if I remember right) crack his head open with an axe and put popped Athena, full grown and full adorned in her battle-armour God-outfit ... or that’s the way I was taught it when we did Greek stuff in school. And all I can think remembering that is *”Ouch!”* 😂😂😂

I heard a similar story where Athena gets angry at a mortal man and tricks his daughter into sleeping with him (idk how the man didn't realise it wasn't his wife, it may have been the darkness lol). When she gives birth he is horrified to find the child is his son and grandson. So he casts her out and she gives birth but rejects the child, and Athena watching over decides to take the child in.

Yep. It was Hephaestus. I actually just watched the episode of Great Greek Myths about Athena and it was revealed that Hephaestus had been tricked by Poseidon, thinking that Athena was coming to, you know, do the do. He got too eager and ripped her tunic, showing her in all her glory, and that's when he accidentally came on her thigh.

The story I read about Metis had nothing to do with him eating her- it was rape/murder
He chased her around the earth trying to rape her. Since they both could shape shift Zeus had a hard time tracking her down but determined to defile a woman be persisted and knocked her out and raped her.[head injury] Later he got a vision/fortune that the child Metis bore would over throw him, so he caught Metis again and killed when she was pregnant by knocking her out [head injury] then killing her.
That when he got the headache,
and gave birth to wisdom. Man gives birth to wisdom after killing the woman he raped and the resulting child. Historical this kind of made scenes, some cultures would kill the young males of the cultures the concurred because they knew when they grew up they be warrior seeking revenge. but its fucked up all the same
