This is one of those moments where “RIP CoD” comes to mind. This game has the potential to be the best battlefield of all time. Literally letting players do what they want is insane. The only better thing would be community created maps. Portal makes me not even want to bother with the main game multiplayer lol.
Especially hardline since when the game got launched it was very underated so it might popularize it. Just hoping for downtown map and the one with a sandstorm (maybe cops and crooks player models and the vehicles might be impossible to do but maybe its possible)

If I’m not mistaken tom henderson mentioned that every season of battlefield will have 2 new maps for the portals (among other new things like main game maps and specialists) so it’s entirely possible, and I don’t doubt they’ll be bringing back maps that are beloved, and lord knows battlefield 3 had loads of beloved maps. Personally I wanna see damavand peak and ESPECIALLY Seine Crossing

The caspian border visual update completely blew me away. Same vibes I had when the BF4 campain came out and you get out of the building in the first mission. Absolutely stunning.
This is why halo has stayed alive especially halo 5. You can give us turds of a game but if you let us make our own content within the game and it stays alive.
If you're looking for proof that User-generated content keeps games alive, just look to the original DOOM. the game itself is nearly 30 years old and there's still a _huge_ modding scene for it.

I think BF1 is the best feeling Battlefield in terms of atmosphere and looks. But the gunplay is just not very good. An lmg that only gets more precise after each shot in full auto is just ridiculous.

The only really dissapointing ones were bf5 and bf Hardline. Bf1, I thought was pretty interesting. Entirely new weapons and playstyle, new era, etc. I just loved it. I would say I would prefer a lot of the BF games over BF1 but I still don't find it to be a bad game. Same with BF5 and Hardline

Even if they have hella issues it will still be the best fps hell it may be a few years before anyone even comes close. This game is going to have so much replay value
Expecting a flawless launch is very unrealistic. Not saying Cyberpunk level bad is ok but even decent games will have launch hiccups. Games of this scale are extremely complex (more so than most people realize) and will not be perfect. Weapons will need balancing, maps will have weird/ glitched out spots, animations will have problems, people will fly on MAVs like elevators. Things get missed.
One of the coolest experiences I've had on battlefield was a bf4 custom hard-core server with no hud, no player names, friendly fire, so you had to actually see the enemy well enough to confirm their uniform before you shoot. Otherwise you just teamkill. Surprisingly I wasn't killed by ff more than once a match usually. Typically people use better magnification optics. Slows down objective pushes, gun fights, reaction time

The #1 thing - and maybe only thing - I want to do with this is to play on a server with all jets completely removed from the game. Can't wait for that pure ground and helicopter combat experience without jets ruining the fun for everyone.
Finally something that looks and feels like Battlefield. But I still won't believe it till I see it all happening at game release without it being micro transaction hell.
Here's hoping then. I checked out of BF after BF 1, didn't even bother with 5 sadly. I've been playing since the first BF and this feels like it might be a highly creative way to reboot the fan base. You guys seem to be of the opinion that it should be ok on the micro transactions side of things so I might try to see if my brother and a couple of our friends might be interested in giving BF a go again. It's been years since we all played together on BF 4. Happy memories.
I cant wait to go back and play 1942 again for some reason :D The future of this game is now insured. The replayability is endless. As you said, they can just add more stuff, test new features and even make future games as part of this. And with this, if they make a new Battlefield game the developers will have a lot more knowledge of what the players want, just from looking at the most popular mods - and if they still mess it up, players can just adjust the game themselves :D I might be overthinking it though, we'll have to wait and see, maybe its too good to be true. It's very nice to see that there will be progression though, so you dont feel like you are wasting your time playing this "side game" without gaining XP or unlocking stuff.
It's actually kind of nice to see another company adding a sort of Halo forge mode to their series. I can't wait to see the kind of games that could be made here.

Honestly lvlcap this is a good step in the right direction because also put it this way with the new portal system the community can let dice know what to tune up or down when coming to weapons, gear, gadgets and vehicles and it helps out the player base who just wants to chill and have fun than sweating out in regular 2042 game modes and it brings custom games to the max

Women played an important role in some aspects of WW2, but usually not in places which would make for interesting FPS combat gameplay (save for the 2000ish women snipers - out of 428,000 Red Army personnel who received sniper/marksman training, a little over 2000 were female…that is just 0.46% of all Soviet sharpshooters). I recently read that a good number of women were trained to operate AA guns. They were also searchlight operators and medics (though it’s unlikely “medic” is the same as “combat medic” or “corpsman”).

To what extent we don't know but if we make a big enough deal with it as a community they will implement it I would think. Again I'm going off what's being said and what there saying and I'm seeing small changes in behaviour but I always could be wrong.
I hope we can create BF2 squad system as well. 6 men squad, one squad leader, you can ONLY spawn on the squad leader. Man this feature boosted teamplay so much, never seen better teamplay in public than in BF2.
Can't wait! Wished they included a dinosaur mode, playing off all those memes and eater eggs since BF3 haha! Would be crazy to see an entire team consisting of t-rex, raptors, ankylosaurus/triceratops, and pterodactyls go up against 4 squads of humans on any of the junlge maps throughout the BF series! An objective mode on Caspian Boarder would be cool too, where the human team would have to defend the wall/gate from the incoming dinosaurs, preventing them from crossing over and destroying their base.
Yeah since you can adjust health and regeneration, damage, so much stuff. I got a big nostalgic moment thinking about Operation Flashpoint with all these options available.
I guess you could tweak and play around to get a decent milsim feeling. Not sure if it will be better than what's already done, certainly lots of money poured in so it might be okay?
I can see it now, Infected from MW3, with 128 players, on a large map, no tanks but atvs and jeeps are available. The possibilities with portal are ridiculous the community is really going to make this special and Dice is doing a great thing giving us the chance to make this game great
I think a Stealth-based match would be awesome where maybe you could turn off sprint for a team of 15, and lower their health to 25% (One-shot for a pistol) and have one player with a suppressed pistol try and capture a flag without dying. It’d be cool if they also allowed you to switch maps to day and night.
The ease that they’ll be able to bring in expansion packs with old maps from battlefield three in battlefield two and battlefield four is going to be awesome to see..... I mean.... Rouge Transmission then back to Karkan..... life changing
This is so smart in terms of DICE. They can let players try out which gamemodes are the most fun, and which game modes are gonna be profitable enough to include in base games continuing forward.
My friends and I used to love battlefield 2 special forces because we could set up a match where it was just us 3 against an army of bots. We are gonna be able to again, nice
I feel like this mode could be huge for Battlefield. It could be the equivalent mode to Warzone, that connects Battlefield games and allows us to play old and new maps with our own rules and paramiters. This is the kind of stuff that keeps games alive for years beyond the standard content cycles.

I haven't watched a battlefield video since the trailer, and when I saw this one, I actually had to sit down to comprehend everything I just watched. It really caught me off guard.

We need to give them time, fans usually rush releases putting pressure on the devs and releasing a mediocre product, I would expect at least 1 delay
Launching with minimal issues is absolutely critical. They really need to finish STRONG, and make this the greatest battlefield game of all time.
Expecting a flawless launch is very unrealistic. Not saying Cyberpunk level bad is ok but even decent games will have launch hiccups. Games of this scale are extremely complex (more so than most people realize) and will not be perfect. Weapons will need balancing, maps will have weird/ glitched out spots, animations will have problems, people will fly on MAVs like elevators. Things get missed.

One of the coolest experiences I've had on battlefield was a bf4 custom hard-core server with no hud, no player names, friendly fire, so you had to actually see the enemy well enough to confirm their uniform before you shoot. Otherwise you just teamkill. Surprisingly I wasn't killed by ff more than once a match usually. Typically people use better magnification optics. Slows down objective pushes, gun fights, reaction time

The #1 thing - and maybe only thing - I want to do with this is to play on a server with all jets completely removed from the game. Can't wait for that pure ground and helicopter combat experience without jets ruining the fun for everyone.
Finally something that looks and feels like Battlefield. But I still won't believe it till I see it all happening at game release without it being micro transaction hell.
hopefully the microtransactions stick to purely cosmetics similar to battlefield 5, maybe a little crazier than bfv would be preferred in my opinion.

Here's hoping then. I checked out of BF after BF 1, didn't even bother with 5 sadly. I've been playing since the first BF and this feels like it might be a highly creative way to reboot the fan base. You guys seem to be of the opinion that it should be ok on the micro transactions side of things so I might try to see if my brother and a couple of our friends might be interested in giving BF a go again. It's been years since we all played together on BF 4. Happy memories.
I cant wait to go back and play 1942 again for some reason :D The future of this game is now insured. The replayability is endless. As you said, they can just add more stuff, test new features and even make future games as part of this. And with this, if they make a new Battlefield game the developers will have a lot more knowledge of what the players want, just from looking at the most popular mods - and if they still mess it up, players can just adjust the game themselves :D I might be overthinking it though, we'll have to wait and see, maybe its too good to be true.
It's very nice to see that there will be progression though, so you dont feel like you are wasting your time playing this "side game" without gaining XP or unlocking stuff.
I reccomend you to play the original BF1942 instead of this.

Honestly lvlcap this is a good step in the right direction because also put it this way with the new portal system the community can let dice know what to tune up or down when coming to weapons, gear, gadgets and vehicles and it helps out the player base who just wants to chill and have fun than sweating out in regular 2042 game modes and it brings custom games to the max

Women played an important role in some aspects of WW2, but usually not in places which would make for interesting FPS combat gameplay (save for the 2000ish women snipers - out of 428,000 Red Army personnel who received sniper/marksman training, a little over 2000 were female…that is just 0.46% of all Soviet sharpshooters). I recently read that a good number of women were trained to operate AA guns. They were also searchlight operators and medics (though it’s unlikely “medic” is the same as “combat medic” or “corpsman”).

@@arnoldkearimal in this video he did not mention that but if I recall another did, that there would be admin controls it was a question thrown to them(banning/kicking). To what extent we don't know but if we make a big enough deal with it as a community they will implement it I would think. Again I'm going off what's being said and what there saying and I'm seeing small changes in behaviour but I always could be wrong.
I hope they add some BF1 maps. I mean think about the fights you could have on Paschendale or Ballroom Blitz.

Would be crazy to see an entire team consisting of t-rex, raptors, ankylosaurus/triceratops, and pterodactyls go up against 4 squads of humans on any of the junlge maps throughout the BF series! An objective mode on Caspian Boarder would be cool too, where the human team would have to defend the wall/gate from the incoming dinosaurs, preventing them from crossing over and destroying their base.
Milsim groups are going to love this feature

I think a Stealth-based match would be awesome where maybe you could turn off sprint for a team of 15, and lower their health to 25% (One-shot for a pistol) and have one player with a suppressed pistol try and capture a flag without dying. It’d be cool if they also allowed you to switch maps to day and night.

With all the settings shown it could be possible. One of the 2042 maps is as big as one from PUBG so that's taken care of.
This is so smart in terms of DICE. They can let players try out which gamemodes are the most fun, and which game modes are gonna be profitable enough to include in base games continuing forward.

I feel like this mode could be huge for Battlefield. It could be the equivalent mode to Warzone, that connects Battlefield games and allows us to play old and new maps with our own rules and paramiters. This is the kind of stuff that keeps games alive for years beyond the standard content cycles.
