    Thanks for the info, and I tried render scaling, but it created for me to some pixelated cloud edges, somewhat like vertical lines in them when flying.
    It varied depending on the scaling set, DSR however although the same effect occasionally was much less noticeable when running my 1080 monitor at 2560 x 1600.

    Great video. Thanks for the tips. I will try this on my system. I'm a long time watcher first time question. I see you are running an Intel setup. I have an AMD setup. In your settings you have AMD FEDELITYFX SHARPENING turned off or to zero. Now, being as i am running an AMD, where do you recommend me slidding this bar too? Or should i put this to zero as you have it? Tnx

    Native 4K DLSS 2 .... minimises shimmer, especially on the straight edges of glass cockpits.
    The difference compared to reducing rez and TA is massive.
    Not everyone has a bloody 4090.

      @dtrjones 9 месяцев назад +3

      A couple of things. If you are running 4K, you are likely to have a high end graphics card anyway, secondly Q8Pilot was refering to specifically 2K displays where shimmering was more pronounced, but anybody can oversample, it's an informed opinion which we can use to our advantage or not.

    My monitor is for 4k 60FPs since I got it for my Xbox series X but I play MSFS at 2K and I have a 3070. Should I stick with 2K or have it at 4k resolution in the sim? I also cap my FPS at 40

    With the 4090 do you see ground texture issues when on ground using dx 12 and frame generation with high fidelity aircrafts like the pmdg ?

      I run a 4080 on a i7-13700 and the worst for me is the shimmering on my flight displays in the add-on aircraft like FBW or Fenix.
      It’s like the writing on the displays is to thin or to “sharp”
      I’ve tried every setting combination imaginable to fix or reduce it.
      It only seemed to have gotten like that since upgrading from the Standard MSFS to the deluxe version.

    Q8, please don’t use TAA, it’s the worst AA. It should never be used by anyone. If you have a top GPU, a 4090 in our case then all it does is add unnecessary blur. Just upscale to 4k and use DLAA

    • @Q8Pilot
      @Q8Pilot  9 месяцев назад +2

      DLAA causes far more shimmering on my system.

    • @stevem4005
      @stevem4005 9 месяцев назад +1

      As always, it depends on peoples system and you cannot make a definitive statement like that. For most TAA gives crisper display graphics for example.
      And...not everyone can give Nvidia the amounts of money they want for a ridiculously overpriced 4090 can they!

    • @toadintheh0le
      @toadintheh0le 9 месяцев назад

      TAA works in an exact way, it doesnt matter what the system is. The temporal effect smudges frames together. You can of course sharpen that out but its well known that TAA is a poor but overused AA system. In fairness to Asobo they have implemented TAA well into the engine and its nowhere near as bad as some games, eg: RDR2@@stevem4005

    • @MichaelDomer
      @MichaelDomer 9 месяцев назад

      *_"Q8, please don’t use TAA, it’s the worst AA."_*
      Total nonsense, because it's all about how it was implemented by the developer, you have bad TAA and great TAA.
      Secondly, at 4K you won't see any bluriness of TAA, because of the much higher pixel density, plus you're not going to have a 4K monitor one feet away from your eyes, unless you like to turn your head constantly like an id.iot.
      So yeah, you talk like a noob parrot who just mindless repeats what other noobs say.

    1440p is NOT 2K, it's 2,5K. 2K is 1080p.
    BTW, increase render scaling can result in trouble "click" switches in some airplanes.
