I havent played flight sim since FSX, but I fondly remember my first ever time playing it as a kid was in the Cessna 172 at Friday Harbor (the default spawn airport), which my dad loaded up for me after he built our family PC. Still remember it so fondly/vividly :')

As a man of a certain age, I've used every version of Flight Simulator since the early 80's and WOW, we've come a long way since those very early days of the hobby. As to answer your question on what I will do first? Well...my game plan is pretty much the same as it was for MSFS 2020. Once I get MSFS 2024 installed and tweaked to my liking, most likely I will spend time flying GA aircraft around my home area. While no one really knows how much time it will take the dev teams like Fenix and PMDG to make their existing products ready for 2024, I will be very happy just exploring my area from a few thousand feet, flying low and slow and taking in the beauty and majesty of the brand new sim and be thankful to Microsoft/Asobo for what they have brought to us over the past 4+ years and beyond.

Not just sim but no game, no matter funding or amount of testing has released and was perfect. Not even GTA 6 will be perfect on release, I'll guarantee that.
Also, FS2020 was a huge gap from FSX. FS2020 was a huge learning period for them I'd imagine. There's a lot of new stuff in 2024 to be excited for, you'll get your critique when it's out and in hands of people.

@@FluffScripts No one is asking for perfection but again from what I see in the visuals, the marketing images look phenomenal from the point of view of ground elements - plants, grasses, actual 3D trees, rocks etc. I thought that this was exactly what the sim needed for a feeling of something more authentic especially when on the ground. And from what I'm seeing in game it's still this flat, boring, uninteresting land where maybe 30m of autogen is created around the plane and then you should stop looking for fear of being disappointed that again its just a big bald sphere with not much on it.

I especially like to visit the European Alps. People do not realize how much the Europeans have capitalized on that asset with lifts, trails, and restaurants. There are over 25,000 ski lifts alone wandering through these marvelous places. And Google has captured many of them in 3D photogrammetry. This could potentially be so much better in MSFS2024. Start with a trip up to the top of Mt. Snowdon on their cog wheel train. And most all of Switzerland. I now also have a Pimax Crystal and a 4090.. Wow !
