This video will remain available to the public til Friday May 28 unless it reaches 50k views.

@@thefutur Thank you 🍀
Amen!!
What you say becomes!🥳
What's up? Did you get u're success? 3 years passed
Mo finally addressed my concern. Every time I'm having a conversation with a client, it feels like I must do everything for everybody. I do video, photo, and design work. However, when I try to talk to clients, I felt like those services I offer play insignificant or irrelevant impacts to clients.
One example is when CTR is excellent because of engaging video, but then the Customer Service cannot close the deal because they are not well trained to communicate with the customer.
It's also nice to learn that I can extend my services to achieve my client's goal by working together as a team or making a new team.
thanks guys :D
So impressed by Mo's (sp) response now. So much more like Chris Do's teaching
Finished watching the full session and Chris puts everything in perspective. Very criminal that we get to watch these for free, thanks Chris.
You’re very welcome
I’m a videographer and business owner, and this is literally like watching art haha like I’m so impressed on the approach and how you broke everything down to politely convince your client. Love the approach I’m definitely going to give this mentality a go.
This is the most productive 2 hours of my time today
This is such a good example of how as designers speaking to clients the tools we provide are just a bridge to the real value they are after. "IE customers, traffic, conversions, "
This is legit one of the best videos I’ve seen on the mentality you need to transition out of being a technician.
You put so perfectly. I've been the technician quite literally my entire life. The guy who fixes things and I was mostly focused on the technical stuff. I always suffered with this mentality of not knowing enough like a scientist would.
This just made me realise I need to accept that in all truth i am good at what I do and that my main focus shouldn't be on improving my technical skills for now, but to focus on sales and marketing and thinking of the business as a whole rather than think like a freelancer
Love you folks over at The Futur, you are making such a big difference in so many creative's businesses, long time watcher great content- THANKS!
A small note on this session: in the session we go straight for the money conversation with the client (while extremely important), this is very similar to most other money conversations i have seen Chris do only this one is with a "video" overlay instead of a "design" overlay. Glad we get some insight from Chris on how to set up and operate the business later on but it comes down to "Be the agency, not a production studio" which is like "know advertising, not video" (not bad advice tho). I bet there are peeps on The Futur team who can speak to "how to be a great production studio" because not everyone wants to "be the agency". I would love to see some of that content.
Thanks all!
Help spread the word.
Chris saying that it gonna takes 45 minutes vs i alredy knowing the lenght: "It's gonna be awesome"
This is gold - for whatever reason, this does get taken down, it's too precious not to have. I've got my copy! I believe it will remain up.
Am transitioning too from photography and filmmaking to Problem solving (hiring what others do) and I was deeply meditating and slowly applying this philosophy. Such a suprise to see a whole video about it, definitely some great takeaway in here.
Wonderful!
This man just showed us how to be an executive producer
How did Chris get to this level? At this level of expertise, he's world-class! It's amazing, I'd love to know what he does day to day!

10 minutes in and I'm already so impressed by Mo! I've been watching this channel for quite some time and it's amazing to see everyone part of the Futur team grow
Thank you 🙏
This is insane free game, knowledge, social queues, that we are getting. Thank you FRFR !
Brilliant! Notifications changed to 'all'. People not even realising the value they just got for free. Don't question it, just rinse and repeat this process. Throw in a subscription model, and your business is now free
I go through that process in my Content Strategy Workshop and I love it. And I've been sensing I should do it during the discovery call but I freeze up so much.
Great value here!!! Gonna need to watch this a second and third time!
please do
What a value bomb and deep knowledge shared here for almost 2 hours! If you are good and succeed to sell the impact that you create, you'll be able to scale your business easily.
Drigo thanks for putting me on this dude! He’s a beast.
Thank you Drigo!
Always love a whiteboard session!
Thanks Chris.
This video is great. I knew about this concept for years but finally this video was the wake up call I needed! Thank you for this! Been binging a lot of your content about sales. Thank you so much!
This is probably the most valuable video I've ever watched on RUclips.
Not saying that lightly. Chris, you're tha man.
And this production quality is amazing.
I don't know how to thank you for the difference you have made in my life during these hardtimes during Covid. I have started WhatsApp groups teaching some of your concepts and other things that I have picked up in my journey. I am grateful for the value that I am delivering
Glad to help
This is such good advice, I tried to automate my price estimates with an online form but all the questions focus around "what i make" i.e. videography related e.g. do you want voiceover, do you already have an animated logo etc. And prospective clients often do not know what an animated logo even means. To flip it round to speaking to them about strategy rather than the video itself seems like such a good idea and fascinating. So much so that I watched this right the way through from start to finish. Lets hope this advice works out in the field.......
Thanks!
The real competitive advantage, its to have access to this content! Thank you for that guys. It was amazing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Chris, you really help me become a better business minded guy. My video business is starting to boom out here in Atlanta. Thank you big dawg!
You can see how many people struggle with adopting the business mindset. It goes against the worker mentality that we're programmed with.
A lot of it has to do with what kind of parents you had growing up. Did you parents who owned a business or parents who just worked for someone else all the time
I would say no one has ever exposed me to thinking this way and I listen to a lot of people however hard work is the barrier to entry.
thank you so much for these! Always looking forward to learning with you guys
This may be the most profitable, beneficial and absolute golden video I have ever watched
Chris, you're a gifted educator. Thank you for sharing so much valuable information. 🙏🏼
Thank you
Gutted to miss this one but glad to see recording. 🙌
The roleplay was awesomely performed and very insightful :)

As a newly started nonprofit my heart has always been for business. Extremely good content. Very intrigued especially when you dropped the term neuroplasticity in your latest video. Love your work. Keep them coming guys!! Chris you're a different breed of beast
Mo questions are the best!!! 🙌 what a valuable piece of content!
THIS IS GOLDEN! THANK YOU FOR THIS!
It's extremely hard for video creators to get out of the space of "I can make an amazing video for you." That statement is to ambiguous and really doesn't solve anything. Or "I have this equipment, blank, blank, etc." When the reality is business owners don't care about that, what they do care about is solving a problem they have. Mostly it's one they aren't completely aware of. Thats the top layer and where the details live is the pain points that people are uncomfortable in unraveling. "The devil lives in the details." The real trick is leaning into the pain and ripping off the band-aide and really digging in and disinfecting the wound wether it be their sales funnel needs a re-work or some step in the process ie, wrong ad platforms or incoherent brand awareness. These need to be re-thought and scrutinized. These aren't sexy conversations by any means but it's where the diamonds in the rough live. Once problems are addressed it then becomes plugging in the right video for a desired outcome all along the supply chain for their customers journey.
Moving me up that brand ladder with each and every video.
Me too
one video at a time.
Master DO showed up today!!! Love to see it
Soooo helpful!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Wish I caught this live, Watched this video until about 10 mins then had to sit on my hands bc i wanted to take notes but i find listening to these deep dives helps to let the information percolate first. Bustin out pen n paper for this, thanks FUTUR team
You're very welcome. are you part of the pro group? you can get access to live recording.
This definitely helped shift my thinking from being strictly creative to an entrepreneur. I get where Mo was coming from as far as being able to do the job, but it's about the result.
thanks so much for this video and that you show it to all RUclips viewers! was so useful stuff and I like that you work on such an ethical level with your clients. really helped me a lot. thanks!
This video is a full-on mental unlock, I appreciate Chris and the team for putting this one together.
Thank you
Chris, after studying this 100x, this lesson was a bit difficult to apply because the scale that your students in the room set up. Y’all are talking about millionaire clients and productions for tens of thousands of dollars. I think a more relatable scenario would be the budding filmmakers. Trying to land their first $5-8k project. Diagnosing the issues and problems for a small but growing business. Hope to see more of that one day :) still, cannot thank you enough for the knowledge.
Yes. Also, a millionaire client would probably already have a marketing staff etc behind him. Actually most well stablished business already have a team devoted for the company’s problems. So if they are reaching out for a video, they are not expecting you to diagnose their whole business and come in as a expert bussines man. I bet they would probably think your outsider you lane and they just want a video. But in a small business just starting out, maybe this could apply.
@Anjos do Mar my friend back in 2012 had a construction company approach him for a video so they can use for a construction bid. When the company ask for the price, my friend said 30k and they agreed. Later he found out the construction company won the bid for 30 million dollar project. This is when my friend learned about value based pricing.
@@nicholasolivas317 30k is a lot for a marketing video. How do think you are entitled to back end profit. The mistake you make right out of the gate is not understanding the other person’s business model. 30 million dollar project might only make
8 -10 million that might be over time like 3 yrs.
@@anjosdomar269 talk to Flash Film Media. He made a career pm what exactly you just said.
@stephenbrody2717 you raised a good point about not understanding the costs of the construction company. But I think you are mistaken about 30K being alot for a marketing video. 1. You are thinking with what you can afford. Maybe you can't but the construction company can and agreed to without any hesitation.
2. You are not understanding the cost associated with my friend's firm. What other costs or outside contractors he needs to bring onto the project. You are assuming he is a one man showing up with a camera. This is 2012, Chat GPT wasn't around, he had to hire a copy writer, not to mentioned since the client was a construction company, safety precautions had to be implemented so my friend can get B-roll.
You are correct this value based pricing is not taken account the other costs of the company.
Same can be said for the low bar clients who try to low ball the video production companies. They are thinking with their pockets and don't understand our business model or our overhead costs.
This is super under-viewed video! For those who want to go one level deeper in Strategy, this one is for you.
Remember, the video production business is just a case study to be more specific! But you can watch it for any industry.
We drill into specifics w/ video creators but it can be applied to any creative business. Thank you Yuri.
Great job you guys !!
love to see more of such content ☺
thank you, collaboration vs one man band, awesome discussion.
So far viewed through 20 minutes: This does a good job at explaining how to collect sales information. But can someone one comment as to how exactly our video products meets the business need? Essentially - Are we claiming that the quality of our video gets more business for the client?, The placement of the video?, The timing of the video? At the end of all this talk, we are going to pitch a video. That is the "what" but "How" are we claiming the video will achieve the desired outcome for the client?
Mo is like making the customer feels difficult with more problems than they need, which is the opposite of customer service.
I'm a new subscriber. These are GOLD. Thanks for doing this type of content. Appreciate Drigo, Mo, and Coach Chris.

This video made 50K!!! I was a little worried when it was only halfway there a couple days ago.
we got there!
You are always concrete and practical. I love this 👌📈
Love this session. Question: This approach only seems to work when you are talking to entrepreneurs and business owners. however when talking to big clients like nike/coca-cola/google they already have a very solid strategy team and they are only coming to you for what you make, usually you wont be talking to their head of marketing but someone down the line in the decision hierarchy..
How do you approach talking to big clients like that? How do you get to talk to the person calling the shots on clients like that?
That’s correct.
Different approach for Nike. I think we made some content that shows how.
@@thefutur if anyone knows the name of this video I’d love to see it 🙏🏻

Chris is talking about handing off the 1M project to someone who can actually do the work, but in order to do that you have to know or have a decent level of connections to be able to hand it off? I think what Mo was asking at 47:38 was what if you land a 1M project but you don't have those connections and structure in place to be able to turn around and get someone else on to do it for you? Or would you just hire a Producer, what if you don't know a Producer?
You do need to know prople or have the confidence that you can find the right people .
I actually think Mo was asking more about how to truly handle the "why you so much more expensive than ur competitor" ...?
@@thefutur Being part of the Pro Group would be a good way to make those connections, right?

Chris, I think this is very good advice for people who want and can move towards being a full service agency (as your chart shows at the end), however I can't see how artists wanting or having the capacity of being a production company, and production companies being agencies. Although budgets definitely increase as you move to right of the chart, many other things also need to come into the picture including people actually wanting and knowing how to run an agency and how to actually help businesses grow.
I can only show you a way. whether it works for each individual is up to you.
