Touch id is less secure, though i doubt the average user isn’t so important that someone would try to get a copy of their fingerprint just to unlock their phone.
Yeah, but it’s less secure with touch ID. Basically when you’re sleeping, someone can unlock your iPad using your finger and you might not even know it.
According to Apple touchID has a 1 in 500,000 chance of unlocking for the wrong person and Face ID is 1 in 1,000,000 faceID is secure it’s only on crappy camera based setups that it’s not
HOW??? Does she grab your finger and unlock it lol Also you do realise she can just open it once and add her own fingerprint, and she can just turn it around when your asleep with Face ID Just get a passcode
@@deadaccount2048 and also, my phone can't detect my face when my eyes are closed, welp in my ios it does turn on with my eyes closed shut but I am more active with android, so-
I prefer Face ID on iPad /iPhone because the extra step after you open the flap of an iPad to still rest your finger there for a full 2 seconds before the iPad unlocks is very annoying to me. (first world problem LOL). It is much more subtle to me to open the flap of the iPad and have it recognize my face immediately and just unlock. ❤️
on the ipads without home buttons, i strongly prefer face id. i haven’t used face id on an ipad yet but i have used touch id on my ipad air, for some reason it barely ever works. i am returning my ipad air 4 for a m1 ipad pro, this is one of my top reasons
Face ID instantly opens it, but I saw a video where a twin of someone opened her sisters phone, and Touch ID is more secure, cause no one’s finger print is the same, but someone could break into your phone if they had time
I've purchased iPad Pro M2. FaceID on my iPad the detection length is not the same as on iPhone, is it normal? with iPhone I can unlock it over 40cm straight from the sensor but with my iPad I can only unlock it max 40cm straight from its camera sensor. This is my first iPad, is this normal?
Touch ID is scary.. what if your sleeping and someone comes in your room and grabs your hand and puts your finger on your phone sensor then has access to your phone 😳😳😳😳
Conversely what if someone puts the iPad to your face when you are sleeping and unlocks it using Face ID? In that case they don’t even have to touch you 😳😳😳😳
I like Face ID more because if you have small fingers it’s easier because your face isn’t small and if someone tries to use your phone it won’t let them in. I hate Touch ID because my finger is small and it never worked and if you don’t like my opinion well shut up and find another comment.
TouchID My apps that use it automatically prompt me for the scan, I touch for a split second and I’m good to go All I’ve heard about FaceID is that you have to press and hold one of the buttons to initiate FaceID… so an extra step… Every now and then I have to enter my 4-digit code to unlock TouchID, but we are talking like 1-2/month most months. Still not sure why; maybe it’s a matter of how long the display had been on or off? Oh well Still hoping that TouchID in **ANY** form returns with the iPhone14. I’ll go Pro if I have to if thats what it takes (presuming it comes back at all of course) Between my hair being pulled back or flowing down in the breeze or wearing a hat or my ghastly morning appearance, there are annoyances I see happening with FaceID. I’m sure it’s been largely resolved, but I just don’t see why they removed TouchID in the first place “Oh, now your screen is bigger with no top or bottom edges…” Yeah, but now won’t whatever I’m watching have a camera punch-hole sized hole and my sausage fingers blocking the picture from where I’m holding the device, especially in landscape orientation?
Face ID is amazing, after having an iPhone 6s for a long time, I got an XR with Face ID capabilities and absolutely cannot understand how people prefer Touch ID, but to each their own. Actually, maybe you’ve just never used it. It’s like my phone turns on automatically, with Touch ID I had to move my finger around to get it to work. I’d tap but it would fail. Also, the Apple Watch is great for unlocking too.
@@user-sf9gs2pg1b I think I’m just overly concerned that I’ll accidentally confirm purchases or some other odd thing will happen I just like seeing that prompt and knowing that I have to make that half-second thought process I dunno, I’ll be making that jump in a couple weeks regardless when my 14+ gets here Once I saw how that dynamic island functioned, it took me 2 seconds to commit to the non-pro 14+ Yeah I “lose that sweet camera upgrade and the A16 chip” but I’m still going from an 8+ to basically a 13s+ and don’t have to deal with that slit-gap of screen when watching stuff (which I am doing constantly) and I don’t have to worry as much about always smudging the top part of the screen where the FaceID camera lives I’m sure the screen is rather smudge resistant, but still. Now if I was a heavy picture taker/photog, then I’d prolly have gone ProMax just to have that boosted camera, but I’m not so I don’t think I’d use it nearly enough to justify the extra money Might I ask if you’ve had to update your FaceID reference pics (however it knows to only unlock/work for you) cause between my hair being up or down, my shaving/trimming my scruff or wearing hoodies or masks as needed at times for work, I’m still unsure if that will prove annoying to me, or if FaceID is more or less past those hurdles
I must be the only person in the world having this problem because I can't find a single video related to my problem. My Android phone works just fine but I have a fingerprint scanner which I would prefer to use and every time I try to use it it tells me to put in four digit code as per security features. Reads my fingerprint just fine but at least 20 times a day I have to type in my four digit code instead of the fingerprint and it's really starting to piss me off. What is the damn point in having a fingerprint scanner if every time I turn around it says security requires you to put in your four digit code. Then I might as well erase the goddamn fingerprint option then. I mean literally what is the point of a fingerprint option if I have to put in my four digit code 20 different times a day. The people running these phone companies are either purposely trying to piss us off or they are dumb as a fucking rock.
I haven’t ever run into that issue with using the fingerprint or Face ID with my iPhone. There might be people on other platforms who are talking about that issue like Reddit or Twitter/X! Hope you find a fix!
