Found out from a video only rich people or people who wanted to show their distinguished family heritage had last names. Whereas the common man didn’t leave their towns as much and just used their parents name (I.e. Ericson) in the case of other people having their name or some other title. The Black Death changed that so all the rich land owners hired people to work their land from far away and thus people needed last names.
I really liked the presentation but I never got around to backing it. I honestly think many of the problem with the game may rise from the kickstarter being "too successful." They wound out cutting a good portion of it out but still not enough to fix the issues. Less is more yadda yadda.
As soon as i heard it had 100 playable characters, i already knew that the game was not for me. There's no way that they could make 100 characters fleshed out, well written and have good interactions. I hate jrpgs that have too many party members which was why i couldn't get into Star Ocean 2nd Story R. Eight should be the maximum number for a good jrpg.
I feel you, games like this more often than not have the characters end up closer to pokemon than people. I wanted to try a different approach the the formula and was unfortunately left disappointed. The only other RPG that's on my radar this year is Visions of Mana. Hopefully that wont suck.
I wanted this game to be good, but good fucking CHRIST the localization shit the bed and ruined a potentially great JRPG. Oh well, at least I still got Legend of Heroes Trails through Daybreak.
Yeah, some of the localization changes were heinously retarded. Thats that's only a small part of the problem with this game. I feel like even had we got a proper translation. The game would still just be painfully mediocre.
@@nihilisticnerd Yeah, that's why I'm good with Trails through Daybreak being my JRPG of the year, because Legend of Heroes is so good and let's be real Falcom just keep knocking homers left and right, especially if we're talkin' all the way back in the Y's days.
The “die pig” scene from Suikoden 2 was legendary. Sad to hear Eiyuden doesn’t match that level of savagery at all.
It gets no where near. Apparently late game things get somewhat dicey but I lost interest long ago.

Also wanted to say great Hellsing reference. 👍
Interesting I didn't know that.
Was that a Hellsing reference?
Yes. Unfortunately, my editing skills were lacking and I wasn't able to make the glasses glare.
I was hoping this game would scratch that itch and who doesn't live war lol
Not going to lie bro. War mode was half the reason I got the game and then it was the most disappointing part about it aside from the story.
Ohhhhh...... I remember this one now. Yeah it didn't vibe with me so I didn't back it or buy it on Steam.

@@nihilisticnerd I'm currently waiting for Metaphor Refantazio. That game just looks too good so far
Just checked it out. Doesn't look half bad. I'll keep my eye on it.

@@mattmaddogwheaton4724 I'm hoping the "Visions of Mana" game is decent.
@@nihilisticnerd Same here.
