I think the original anime hinted Starscream would have been a better leader than Megatron. There are episodes with Starscream telling Megatron to test their new gadgets before just using them in combat. He was proven to be right many times.
Depending on your perspectives, I think the original file card does too. While I think GI Joe's Cobra Commander is kind of a peek into what Starscream would be like as a leader, I'd like to see it happen in Transformers.
No - in the Original TF Cartoon Series, the Autobots were concerned about the day that Starscream ever becoming the Leader of the Decepticons because of his thoughtless aggressive attacks...
I think would make more sense if Starscream's ghost possesion worked ONLY for those who are either weak-minded or have treacherous mind, something akin a similar mentality as him. And honestly, a Decepticon Civil War sound like an interesing story line. Your analysis always brings fresh topics to think about. I love them! 👍
Thank you for your kind words :D That angle on who he can possess is really interesting and yet another story you could do with him! Maybe even use Starscream to influence character behavior, rather than directly control them. The devil on the shoulder pushing the character with suggestions.
Also Starscream's death is meant to symbolize Galvatron doesn't need Starscream since he now has Cyclonus as his second in command who is nearly everything Starscream was but fiercely loyal.
Cyclonus doesn't have a personality in the movie though. Neither does Scourge. I seem to recall the only line between the two of them is "We belong to him now.", to which Galvatron responds "I belong to nobody!". That said, I really enjoy Cyclonus as a character. I think his dynamic with Galvatron in Season 3 is both more entertaining and more interesting than Season 1 and 2's Megatron Starscream character dynamic and WebWorld is one of my favourite episodes.
I was happy to see Starscream get killed by Galvatron because he got what he deserved after all the years of treachery and betrayal to Megatron. We all knew his killer someday would probably end up being Megatron albeit we didn’t know he was going in the form and name of Galvatron until the 86 movie
Eh, kinda. They never focused on the death aspect like I would and I wouldn't touch the clone thing since I'm not keen on it, but I see the end result being similar.
I do too, but I think a lot of these depends on what story you're trying to tell. This is why I'm not 100% keen on the Core Character concept introduced after the 2009 film, I think it really limits the brand's story telling potential.
Not exactly. Back in ye olde days, it used to be that the design staff would give the contracted media company the "playground", characters, setting, ect, and get them to make something. These days the story is made in California and everything is designed around that.
Decepticons need that Power Struggle Dynamic. Makes them more interesting.
I think the Decepticons in general have a lot of untapped potential. They're more interesting as a whole than the Autobots.

@xtraflo Do you have a specific episode? Because I don't recall the Autobots specifically mentioning him beyond being a Decepticreep.
@@SGD_ToysDownUnder I wanna say "Starscream's Brigade" season 2 episode 3. I'd need to rewatch it but I think that's it!
@@SGD_ToysDownUnder Great Episode BTW !!

@@SGD_ToysDownUnder While he didn't say much in TFTM Hasbro built upon what he was supposed to be in Season 3.
@@SGD_ToysDownUnderTo me the episode Web World was the one that brought the personality of Megatron back into Galvatron

@@Widow-Maker2k23 At least a little bit of it. Optimus Prime using the Matrix of Leadership to get rid of the Hate Plague helped as well.
Starscream did the death thing once, but he just kept coming back because he never knew when to quit.
The Starscream, The.
You just described animated

Unfortunately Hasbro has always been more interested in toy sales than story arcs.

@@SGD_ToysDownUnder I stand corrected.
Also, some have the IDW comics had some of the best writing. Not just TF comics, but in comics as a whole.
