On a 590A1 there is enough slack in the timing of the shell interrupter and action bar to run that action back, take out the unchambered round and drop in the slug without having to seat the tube round with your thumb.
Not to diminish your theory and technique, but a shotgun is a dinosaur in this day and age. If I were a police chief, they would be relegated to the car trunk for roit control with rubber shot. I would not go willingly into a fight with a SG unless it was my only gun. If it is, you're unprepared. Gimme an AR with a 30 round mag any day. To me wasting time training with a SG is like practicing speed reloads for a Colt six shooter. But that just my opinion.
+Erin Sinks There are millions of Americans who do not have that ability. And a Mossberg Persuader costs about $300 which is more within the financial reach of the average American than an M4.
For law enforcement, I agree with you mostly, but for self-defense, the one shot stopping ability and low price of a shotgun make it generally superior to an AR. And, for law enforcement, I think training is more important than choice in arms. I'd take a well-trained shotgunner over a newbie with an AR anyday.
Oldie but a goodie. Nice work sir.

Practice, practice, practice. Thank you.

I actually completely agree with you

Pit bull charging at full speed? Give me the shotgun.
