You can put a regular AR grip on it, as long as it doesn't have the beaver tail. Mine has a Magpul grip on it. Like you say, I've had mine for well over 30 years and it's worked flawlessly.

i have that exact stock bought it in 2009. the folding stock was $50.00 i have the vented handguard also. $20.00. i put on an extended mag release from bastion gear $17.00. you could not find any type of folding stock for that price. i put on super glue on the handguard to hold it in place. i also bought a scope in 3 x 12 from gander mountian for $150.00.i bought the 10/22 used at a gun show for $70.00. i am very happy with my purchase of all items. i have spent 50 years putting my collection of firearms and associated items together. i consider it money well spent.

if i was going to spend 30 bucks anyway i would just buy a damn gas block. instead of spending the time and money to destroy a perfectly good a2 front sight/gas block

I prefer folding it and using a Ranger Band on the stock. Easier to utilize under stress and still is out of the way as to lower the tangle hazard when doing vehicle exfill movements. Ronin Tactics has a great video on this.

Very simple and effective way to stow when needed. I do this with my Vickers sling when in a bag, the Edgar Sherman sling has a special doo-dad sewn in to tuck the excess. I've been trying to find a way to attach some shock cord to be able to do the same on my others.

On a 590A1 there is enough slack in the timing of the shell interrupter and action bar to run that action back, take out the unchambered round and drop in the slug without having to seat the tube round with your thumb.

There are counterfeit muffs that have spring contacts in the battery compartment that look just like the Howards so be aware of that!

Gen 3 has issues. I shot my Gen 2 today and Gen 3. Gen 2 never jammed, gen 3 always jammed, wouldn't feed, would even get stuck in the magwell

That recess is there to store a 50 round box of 22lr ammo. I've had my stock since 1992. Durable enough.

I had a weird problem today. My rifle would grab the next round but not fully chamber it. It was like halfway in the chamber at an angle.

Have the same ftf problem with pmags in both my AR-15 and my AK-47 not cycling properly after 3 or 4 rounds. Have absolutely no problems when I use metal mags though, they cycle fine every time.

Actually 5 main components, magazine being the 5th. Great video tho, just got my 3rd gen g17...the back part of the guide rod drops sometimes after installing it and you can see daylight if you look on the side, just a small observation😉

Use a piece of .750 diameter stock and you can clamp the FSB in the vise by the rings. That will eliminate any distortion from clamp pressure or heat. Just let it rest and cool off. Dunking it in water will make the material brittle. I would have used a low profile gas block as cheap as they are these days. Dimple the barrel and a little high heat threadlock and the gas block is there till you want to remove it. Reinstall the pins and tag your FSB with the serial number or batch number of the barrel so if you want to reinstall later, the pins match.

Just buy a low profile gas block! They are fairly cheap. Now if you ever wanted to put back to original it’s expensive to do so.

Could get by with 20 dollars worth of hand tools... pulls out 10 dollar harbor freight angle grinder.
