I bet one of the Turkish companies could put out a pump-only visual copy for less than $600. And I bet they'd sell like hotcakes as long as they were halfway decently built.
I didnt know that the spas-12 was the shotgun in half life until i found out that you can unfold it so i never knew it was the spas and the spas-12 is my favorite weapon in l4d2 due to it killing tanks pretty easily
I really love how Scott is tormented by a t Rex and furbies from the 90s. He has a genuine disorder that causes him to HAVE to shoot watermelons when the appropriate time strikes. Absolutely love the content, always brings some comfort in hard times
One thing to be careful with, Scott is the lever type safety. They have a defect that will fire the gun if you take the safeties (yeah there are two, its really dumb) off in the wrong order. Later models have a cross bolt safety that replaces the lever safety. Might be worth chasing down a retrofit if they're available, for you and your camera operators' sake.
@pops55650 1 second ago True ask me how I know lol. I only load when I’m actually shooting, keeping it pointed in a safe until I can find a cross bolt safety. I was trying to see which safety he had
I bought a SPAS-12 in the late 80's. It was a toss up between that and a Benelli M-1 Super 90. I chose the SPAS strictly because of the way it looked. Started shooting it and regretted my decision. Sold the SPAS (at a loss) and bought a M-1 at a higher than original price. I eventually sold the Benelli as other shotguns became available. Today I regret selling the SPAS. That's TWO regrets for one shotgun. If I kept the SPAS I would probably still have it today since it was so COOOOL looking.
I wonder if Brandon ever got a replacement for the hook on the buttstock. If he hasn't, rub it in his face that you have a complete one. 😂 I remember him saying that finding one, and at a fair price, was almost impossible. Sweet shotgun.
The hook is missing from lots of them, it makes the gun unwieldy, catch on your clothes, etc and importing parts from France is a nogo now. I got lucky that mine was still with the gun, but i had to replace the buffer, mag spring, and some other springs and it was a PITA to get them. Buffers are available now at least... Problematic gun, but iconic.
@@BadHaddy I got a good practical use for said hook. Use it, with the safety on, to grab a drink bottle, food, TV remote control, etc., for when you’re so stuffed with food and you feel so lethargic.

The most amazing part of this video is when Scott shot the tops off the canisters (one handed) without hitting the actual container at 9:14. Impressive
I've always also been curious about the SPAS-12's successor, the SPAS-15. I hear it's even harder to find than the SPAS-12, but I hope you'd be able to make a video on it!
The fact is Spas 15 is extremely rare in US. I saw one at the gun shop long time ago. Thanks a lot to the politicians. They banned it because of scary look. Spas15 have a same function to spas12 but with mag fed. When parts broke, have to have special orders from Italy.
Honestly? I think the spas 15 is kinda lame. I dunno. Just never appealed to me the same way the 12 did. The spas 12 reminded me alot of the doom 3 pump shotgun.
@@TheHitman644 A friend of mine has one over here in Ireland, alongside a SPAS12.Both are cool looking guns, but in reality they do nothing better than a normal pump or semi auto would do,and the SPAS15 is an utter horror for a military/police gun.Sooo many little fiddley bits that could get lost in a field strip. They are fun guns when they work, but if you want relibleability in a pump/semi pick up a Benelli M3 and be done with it.
Man, as italian and a gun enthusiast, this is just perfect. One of my favourite shotgun, on Scott's channel with some clever actions and content! Keep it up with such amazing contents💪🏻
0:04 the king was already in check by the pawn, meaning he should have moved it, but the dino didnt, which means you moved twice in one turn, also there is already 2 pawns in whites back line that isnt promoted to anything meaning you have to have just moved multiple times in one turn,🤔 I believe the dino is completely justified in his actions.
These are so badass. I wish there was a well established, affordable, and reliable clone being made today. Functionally, the Benelli M3 is similar, but that’s very hard to find and very expensive (the only one I’ve come across was $2,000). I also just personally love the look of the SPAS, including the fore-end and the fold-over stock. Too bad more shotguns don’t have that kind of stock!
Scott, I'm always informing loved ones while we're watching your videos that you have guns that are near impossible to get a hold of. The SPAS-12 is yet another one. The gun fairy is alive and well in your life.
Scott, I reckon you weren’t even born when the SPAS 12 first went on sale but Luigi Franchi must have designed this iconic firearm with you in mind! You were born to use this gun !!! Thanks for bringing back some awesome memories to this old timer!
I still remember that day when your .50 BMG rifle blew up, man. Glad to still have you around even after that day, man. God's definitely been good to you. Stay awesome!
I love the slow mo with the wadding flying behind the shot as if to say "hey wait up guys, I wanna play too!" Such a kickass gun, I'm only a little lot jealous that you found a pristine example.
A lot of people probably bought SPAS-12s back in the day just as collector or display pieces, so it's entirely likely they didn't fire it. There were never that many imported, so most people using a beater shotgun for practical use probably would've just been using a Mossberg 500 or Remington 870.
They have a reputation of being picky guns, but the thing is really that the semi-auto mode is designed and built with the expectation that you're going to be running it with high powered combat loads, and if you just feed it that, the action is going to cycle that just fine. The pump-action mode is there for running low powered loads, that's the entire point of that. Now, these guns do depend on a little recoil buffer pad so that the bolt doesn't beat up the receiver in the semi-auto mode, and if that pad has dried out and pulverized (because it's 30 years old), or it's missing, you're gonna get some funky behavior, and the bolt is gonna beat up the gun, which isn't good. Getting a replacement recoil buffer pad is easy to do though, there's people who make cheap and high quality replacements which will be good for another couple of decades. Buy a bunch and keep the spares sealed in their packaging and you're good for life. It's a little clunky, a little quirky, but if you get to know the thing, the SPAS-12 will run very well for you.
I remember the last time you had it on the channel. It was so amazing! I first saw the SPAS12 in Jurassic Park (1993) and immediately fell in love with it. I was about 5-7 years old and every fantasy of mine had a SPAS12
Lol some of the values in the commentary. Retail price US was $1,500 in its final production year. It's estimated only 2-3 thousand ever made it to the US because of previous bans. If you can find one for under $3,000 it probably needs work done and is missing the forearm hook/carry handle or the entire folding stock. Conservatively the Spas-12 in good working order with or with any safety or bushing upgrades should hold a value of no less than $4,000 but I'm sure an unfired mint condition Spas-12 would command much more and possibly over 5-8k. The limited amount available in conjunction with a following like none other makes this a very valuable addition to any gun collections..Good day and thanks for another amazing vid..👍
If these things were still in production, and we didn't have all the red tape, I would buy one in a heartbeat. Maybe it's just a case of wanting what you can't have, but that gun is BEAUTIFUL. Thank you, Scott, for shooting the guns the rest of us can't.❤❤
Scott please be careful as it appears you have the old style safety which still have problems with rounds firing even when the gun is in safe mode. The push button safety is the one which fixed this issue.
Just got back from Realm Makers writing convention and regarding weapons, I had suggested Kentucky Ballistics as a great source- turns out most of my fellow writers are already subscribed to K.B. and prefer Scott over other content makers of this genre. It was amazing.
Ian at Forgotten Weapons for education and Scott/KB for entertainment. Okay, who am I kidding, either channel is both entertaining and educational, but for different reasons.
Scott I liked the tempo of this video after editing. Quickly switching between scenes shooting different targets. Very well done. Fun video as usual. Thanks for regularly posting. I know it’s a lot of work. You are appreciated brother
scott, I have been watching your videos and have been subscribed to you for more than 4 years now, and I just want to say thank you for the amazing videos you make. the amount of effort you put into your videos is remarkable and impressive, and you have helped me get through multiple tough times, like when I lost 2 of my good friends. again, thank you for the great content and i will see you again next time. keep up the great videos scott!
I remember holding this shotgun in a gun store in Amsterdam (The Netherlands); it was surprisingly light for a gun that size. Of course, I just had to hold it with one hand, with the hook below my arm for balance.🙂
6:00 As a major dino nerd, I have to say it That was not a triceratops, that was sinoceratops (SEE-NO-SARA-TOPS). A very, very cool animal in the same family as the triceratops! Its name means "Chinese horned face"
I have seen this on other videos from guntubers, and I was expecting a lot of jams. I was shocked that it ran so clean, and being able to load it without having problems. Garand Thumb was not happy with his lol
Scott ive been on bed rest for a month now with at least a few more to go due to a broken back and ive been watching alot of your videos lately, they are one of the things that's been keeping me entertained this whole time. Thank you for doing what you do, demonstrating these unique firearms in a very entertaining fashion. Keep up the good work man i can't wait to get healed up so i can hit the range again
I got myself the Dickinson XXPA. AR style shotgun with pump and semi. Same issues as the spas-12 with cycling semi with lighter loads, but that's what the pump mode is for. Since it's mag fed, got a 20rd drum and let me tell you, dumping 20 rounds from a semi-auto shotgun will put a smile on your face. Would be cool to see what Scott would think of one!
Aside from the awesomeness of the SPAS12, around 6 minutes in when the steel is being addressed - you can see the shot going downrange. Rarely have I seen that before. Very neat.
Own a spas-12, its iconic, but honestly, it's a pretty crummy shotgun. They have parts that age and wear out, and are hard to get now. Primarily the buffers and the springs. It's heavy and operation clunky and unintuitive. But i'll be damned if it doesnt have a look!
I own one and the problems are exaggerated honestly. The original parts do go bad and wear out, but there are people selling replacement parts that last longer. Definitely heavy, but that also massively cuts down on recoil so I routinely dump 100 to 200 shells through mine. And even the overcomplicated controls are intuitive once you realize it’s a combination shotgun with both auto and pump shotgun controls and so long as you know which button corresponds with which, it’s not too bad.
Love the T Rex chess game intro. The SPAS-12 is a very unique shotgun. It seems a shame that they stopped producing them. I saw some online and they are not cheap which is what you would expect. Another great video Scott. Keep up the good work, live long and prosper.
Great video as always Scott I look forward to them every week! I’m new to the gun world and love that your videos are both very educational and very entertaining. Keep it up!
It's stuff like this why I love this channel. I watch Demo Ranch for the zany antics Matt goes through with his assorted target types. I watch Brandon for the in depth breakdowns if various guns and for the mechanical knowledge of how they function as well as for the historical significance of them on top of the stupid memes that always bring a smile to my face. And I watch Kentucky for the pure unhinged redneck goodness that only he can deliver. Always a little something for everybody.
One round I'd love to see you do a ballistic test on is a .300 WSM 150 grain ballistic silver tip. We've deer hunted with them for years and I swear, no other .30 caliber round overperforms its weight class quite like those things do.
whenever i see someone with a SPAS-12, i'm both so happy for them and so jealous, haha, but i'm especially happy that you have one, because you deserve it! if i could get 2 shotguns from any point in time, it'd be the SPAS-12 and the winchester 1897 (which i'd love to see you with!). both of them are so cool and unique compared to other shotguns, and i wish someone would remake them so i don't have to pay the very steep price that they have on the aftermarket nowadays 😅 the benelli M3 exists, sure. . . but it doesn't look as cool as the SPAS-12. . .
I actually saw a SPAS12 on the wall of a rinky-dink gun shop in Indy about 5 years ago. I remember the price being right around $2,000 and being shocked that a shotgun would cost that much. Now I know better....
What a clever Girl, to use the good old "le flip" on Scott. Beautiful, iconic, well functioning. That's an absolute amazing Spas 12. Congrats on getting one in this good condition. The Triceratops isn't a triceratops. Might be an Styracosaurus. It's missing the two great Horns. For a moment I thought, Scott would just throw the Watermelons right in the Chip-o-matic. And man, what a mess you've created with this wonderful shotgun. Greetings from Germany.
I bought mine 15 years ago for 350 bucks but it's missing the hook. I still haven't fired it as I love the lightweight fast action of my M1 Super 90.. love your channel brother..be safe out there

I was just saying to my gf how I can't believe no one is at least remaking them. Brownells or PSA!!! Hop on that!!
My Dad had one back in the 80s and it was gorgeous, but the pump action was very stiff and unwieldy. Ended up trading it.
That Arnie impression while shooting the Predator was priceless!
😂😂😂😂
Scott please be careful as it appears you have the old style safety which still have problems with rounds firing even when the gun is in safe mode. The push button safety is the one which fixed this issue.
Mine has the old lever switch and I’ve never had an accidental discharge….. and believe me I’ve tried to get the thing to do it!
Props for enduring the heat good sir. Born entertainer or not, you have leaned into the character and become someone we all enjoy watching.
Just got back from Realm Makers writing convention and regarding weapons, I had suggested Kentucky Ballistics as a great source- turns out most of my fellow writers are already subscribed to K.B. and prefer Scott over other content makers of this genre. It was amazing.
It's hard NOT to be subbed to Scott. He's a ball of goofy energy and good vibes.
@@DinnerForkTongue Well said!
Love the face the Furby made after getting shot.
I remember holding this shotgun in a gun store in Amsterdam (The Netherlands); it was surprisingly light for a gun that size.
Of course, I just had to hold it with one hand, with the hook below my arm for balance.🙂
0:16 lol, the scream
these videos always make my day better, nice job scott! love the content.
5:28 that "Dang it!" Kills me everytime lol
I absolutely love going through frame by frame on those slow motion parts! Great content, love your enthusiasm and video editing style!
I love it when Scott does the "IT'S WATERMELON TIME" it's always fun to watch them get destroyed in slow motion like that!
6:22 c'mon now Scott, that's a Sinoceratos :p
6:00
As a major dino nerd, I have to say it
That was not a triceratops, that was sinoceratops (SEE-NO-SARA-TOPS). A very, very cool animal in the same family as the triceratops! Its name means "Chinese horned face"
Definitely remember Scott doing a SPAS-12 video several years ago. Very memorable because of the number of jams. Nice to see this one run so cleanly
I have seen this on other videos from guntubers, and I was expecting a lot of jams. I was shocked that it ran so clean, and being able to load it without having problems. Garand Thumb was not happy with his lol
6:02 - Scott, that's a Sinoceratops not a Triceratops
Scott ive been on bed rest for a month now with at least a few more to go due to a broken back and ive been watching alot of your videos lately, they are one of the things that's been keeping me entertained this whole time. Thank you for doing what you do, demonstrating these unique firearms in a very entertaining fashion. Keep up the good work man i can't wait to get healed up so i can hit the range again
Hang in there, hope you get well soon.
I hope you recover quickly! ❤
The SPAS 12 is awesome! Thanks for never failing to entertain.
I always wondered why it was semi-auto in some videogames and pump-action in others. Great video!
6:12
When the census man knocks on your door
Scott you never fail to entertain with you videos, thank you for the laughs.
10:36 that furby's eyes are just like "Oh, not again"
He shot a Furby!!! 😳😱😭
Thank you Scott for entertaining us, even in the middle of a blistering southern Summer!
This heatwave is brutal! You looked like you were melting out there, Scott. Good to see the iconic Spas 12 on the channel.
11:22 RIP Sinoceratops mistaken with Triceratops, you will be missed
The furby execution was hilarious
I got myself the Dickinson XXPA. AR style shotgun with pump and semi. Same issues as the spas-12 with cycling semi with lighter loads, but that's what the pump mode is for. Since it's mag fed, got a 20rd drum and let me tell you, dumping 20 rounds from a semi-auto shotgun will put a smile on your face. Would be cool to see what Scott would think of one!
10:13 Man, was so hoping you'd get sprayed in the face. 🤣
@@BadHaddy Kind of sad to hear that. I’ve never handled a SPAS. In the U.K. they exist, on Firearms licenses, but I’ve never seen one for sale here.
This gun is my favoritest shotgun ever. Pretty fantastic shotgun also.
8:20 Garand fanboys every time they hear the ping
"Fanboys"
No homo
We've all seen it slowly developing over the years but as of this video it's undeniable. Scott has become the next Gallagher
I love the spas12. It is one of the coolest shotguns in existence. It is so cool that you got one
10:35 had me laughing out loud so hard 😂
Well the scene with the spinning Ferbie in slowmotion was hilarious. Also, your face expression while shooting semi auto, epic 😂👍
I would love to see a video of Scott showing us all the guns
he has collected over the years
enough for an army
enough for an army
Absolutely love your content man, you make the most hilarious and consistent guntuber videos out there! As always I'm looking forward to your videos
Love the T Rex chess game intro. The SPAS-12 is a very unique shotgun. It seems a shame that they stopped producing them. I saw some online and they are not cheap which is what you would expect. Another great video Scott. Keep up the good work, live long and prosper.
My favorite part of the intro is how it clearly becomes separate takes once a firearm gets involved. Safety is king.
We've deer hunted with them for years and I swear, no other .30 caliber round overperforms its weight class quite like those things do.
whenever i see someone with a SPAS-12, i'm both so happy for them and so jealous, haha, but i'm especially happy that you have one, because you deserve it!
if i could get 2 shotguns from any point in time, it'd be the SPAS-12 and the winchester 1897 (which i'd love to see you with!). both of them are so cool and unique compared to other shotguns, and i wish someone would remake them so i don't have to pay the very steep price that they have on the aftermarket nowadays 😅 the benelli M3 exists, sure. . . but it doesn't look as cool as the SPAS-12. . .
This entire is video is just Scott having the time of his life
10:46 if you play it at X2 speed, you'll get rick rolled
I actually saw a SPAS12 on the wall of a rinky-dink gun shop in Indy about 5 years ago. I remember the price being right around $2,000 and being shocked that a shotgun would cost that much. Now I know better....
6:38 that's actually Pachyrhinosaurus
3:51 good oh yeah
Around the 1:09 mark the thanos impossible meme 😂😂😂
What a clever Girl, to use the good old "le flip" on Scott.
Beautiful, iconic, well functioning. That's an absolute amazing Spas 12.
Congrats on getting one in this good condition.
The Triceratops isn't a triceratops. Might be an Styracosaurus. It's missing the two great Horns.
For a moment I thought, Scott would just throw the Watermelons right in the Chip-o-matic.
And man, what a mess you've created with this wonderful shotgun.
Greetings from Germany.
Ceratasaurs
thats a sinoceratops!
I'm fairly certain it's actually a sillycarrottop.
At first I was thinking it was a Pachyrhinosaurus but OutspkenPariah got it Right its a Sinoceratops
I bought mine 15 years ago for 350 bucks but it's missing the hook. I still haven't fired it as I love the lightweight fast action of my M1 Super 90.. love your channel brother..be safe out there
3:00 minutes there’s actual content. You’re welcome everyone.
Za
I thought it was from special forces group 2 when I first saw it
Its from gta 3 😁
Omg it’s the gun from Cold War
That one kid “😭☝️ it’s from fortnite” grandpa:what’s a fortnight?
HL1, anyone?
WOW IS THAT AN ARM BRACE !!! STRAIGHT TO JAIL! 5:06
Words can’t describe how much I love this weapon. stock unfolded/folded, doesn’t matter.
