  • ⬇ Details below ⬇ This video shows all of the siren tones that are available with the programmable Whelen Carbide system/ Command software - with and without Howler (Whelen's low frequency siren speaker). Our Ford Ranger demo unit is equipped with plenty of amazing Whelen products. All of them are controlled via the programmable Whelen Carbide light & siren system.
    This system not only features 68* international and even country specific siren tones, it also allows you to program and control the entire Whelen light & siren package. This way you can easily set up and change flash patterns, siren tones, automated functions and much more! Whelen's programmable systems take you into a new galaxy of emergency lighting and sirens as there are almost no limits to what you can program.
    We don't want to make this description too long, otherwise we could even write a book about the endless options of those systems. So let's stick to the sirens. Whelen almost covered the entire world of (even country specific) siren tones with the available sirens in the Command software. We attached chapters to this video and a list of all tones below as well.
    * 68 tones as of June 2020. Future updates may increase that number or change tones.
    In and around Germany the siren options come in handy for:
    - Germany and other countries that solely allow two tone sirens
    - emergency vehicles near borders with different sirens for different countries and
    - a set of numerous country specific siren tones for long distance/ international ambulances that regularly cross multiple countries, so that those ambulances would always be able to use the legal siren tones and common sirens of each country.

    The howler truly is for American sirens. And now I want one. In town the separated tones are nice, hit the piercer when approaching intersections and flick the howler on when close for that bass that grabs attention.
    For longer distance responses the wail yelp combo is nice to break up the pattern some .

    8:37 No one else going to realize that GTA Vice City's ambulance siren sounds super similar to the HiLo 610-760 siren? Also, I never hear any agency in my area or anywhere in the province use the alternate wail tone, but then again Ontario is almost full of D&R intimidator siren units in police cruisers. But I ain't going to lie, I do like the sound of the wail 378p3 tone.

The Fed. Sig. Pathfinder has those tones, but they sound a tad slower. And the "B" tones sound like the PA-300 tones.

    Schade das die vielen Funktionen (Airhorn, wail, yelp, piercer) in Deutschland alle verboten sind..... Leider haben BOS und die Sicherheit ihrer Mitarbeiter in diesem Land weder eine Lobby noch einen besonderen Stellenwert, sehr traurig!
    Ich finde es aber super das hier versucht wird, gute und wirkungsvolle Produkte zu etablieren, viel Dank dafür @BLB 👍

    • @BlueLightsBerlin
      @BlueLightsBerlin  3 года назад +3

      Das stimmt, es ist wirklich schade. In den meisten Ländern um Deutschland herum sind zahlreiche Funktionen und Optionen (wie beispielsweise wail, yelp und vieles mehr) und Whelen Standard. Nichtsdestotrotz haben wir auch viel Passendes für den deutschen Markt 🙂
      Vielen lieben Dank für die Anerkennung! Wir probieren hierzulande den weltweiten Marktführer zu etablieren, um es schlussendlich allen Einsatzkräften, Ausbauern und Betroffenen (einschließlich der generellen Bevölkerung) einfacher und sicherer zu machen. Mit Whelen heben wir uns deutlich ab und haben auf viele der existierenden Problematiken bereits passende Lösungen, innovative Ideen als auch wirkungsvolle Produkte.
      Als eines der nächsten Kurzvideos kommt übrigens bald unser "Blitzmuster Rettungsgasse" - da sind wir bereits sehr gespannt auf Feedback! 😊

      @BlueLightsBerlin  3 года назад +2

      Interesting that you found an Indonesian ambulance using this tone! On the other hand we've also seen 2 videos of American police vehicles using the Germany Land Tone and the French tone 😄 I could search for the videos if you'd like to see those. In the end this is exactly what the Whelen systems allow everyone to do - choose whatever tones they like. The tritone at 7:02 used to be the mandatory ambulance siren for the Netherlands until maybe around 2012. So you can find plenty of videos like this for example: ruclips.net/video/vXixgtb9wlk/видео.html Unfortunately the Command doesn't have the fast tritone.

Only aspect where it might in fact get difficult is on e.g. EMS units with your crew partner attending the patient and no two-way intercom available on the unit, then it would be difficult for the driver hearing the partner or the other way around ... simply due to the distance and the fact that most ambulances have only a small window between the cab and the rear.

    • @BlueLightsBerlin
      @BlueLightsBerlin  2 года назад +2

      The Howler is a low frequency siren speaker. It creates a very low frequency tone that drivers of other vehicles are able to feel. Despite that it's also very noticeable (especially at intersections) due to its low frequency and the fact that it travels into all directions.
