I hope you have good luck with your paccar as for me it gave lots of problems and not everyone can work on them. The key is lots of maintenance and don't wait for things to go wrong my paccar went out at 500k and I did my maintenance as scheduled.

Khori, I don't know if somebody might have already mentioned it, but the hood latch seemed to hold its "unlocked" position when you twisted it on that second attempt. Maybe that slight twist disengaged the latch?

Khori is that hood latch, mechanical or electrical? That’s crazy that damn thing slips back into place.

My company has 579s with the x15 and the eaton 12 spd auto and it does the same on the rpm as yours I manually downshift when I hit grades. I also agree with the flasher switch in the KW the flashers were in a better position on the dash.

I’ve got the2020 ultra loft with mighty Paccar. 406000 miles. My temp controller works perfect. My hood opens like a w-9 hard and heavy. Cylinder must be beyond worn and the lock stays open all the time. I have to pull it up to use it. Maybe it’s spring loaded. I love the auto. It gets annoying when it goes into neutral at the bottom of every hill just when u need power. The Jake is real aggressive. Always trying to grab a lower gear. I’m not used to 2000 rpm jakeing. I wonder if it’s tunable to driver preference. I did but the otr reader to delete codes and get off the shoulder. I’ve been driving almost 40 years and this truck is the best. Plan is to run it to 650k and buy a newer one. Keep on trucking.

How’s the truck now? Btw I got a tundra as well and I’m looking at buying the same model Peterbilt that has 350,000 miles on it. Curious if you could give me some insight on how the truck performs with that many miles and if you’ve had any trouble.

Truck is doing decent. It’s up to 564k miles. I had one major issue but the warranty took care of it. I’ve got a couple vids about it but basically the cam went bad and that’s an engine out repair. Not fun. I’ll get into more on my next video

@MrCOREY2000 funny you ask on Thursday the truck went into derate and was still able to go 65 mph i called dealer and was told truck has 2 hours before it goes limp i was 65 miles from dealer in Connecticut traffic but made it to North Haven Peterbilt. Friday dealer says it was water pump failing, didn't see any leaks and temp didnt increase as i had air conditioning on. Luckily still under warranty and a oil pan leak will also get repaired. After June 19 no more warranty and im looking to transition out of trucking im tired of being on edge.

Best of luck. Got people begging me to rebuild, replace or swap pit their Paccar motor. 450k to 550k miles and they tend to be shot and nobody works on them. To much headach to much bad design and to many issues. We wont bring a Pacar motor truck into the shop for anything.

Amazing how these truckers talk about how much it is worth it to stay out OTR, then discuss the low rates, overhead, maintenance and high parts prices. Not even realizing...it doesn't add up! Your netnet is diminishing rapidly. You're better off sitting a security post and being home EVERY NIGHT with the beautiful family. (Yeah, but then whattabout driving a Big Truck? "Grunt-Grunt" 😢)

But again if my Jeep sweater offends you, to the point it keeps you from subbing, you’re of no concern to my channel anyway. Because I f all you’re going to do is justify your basis on the reliability, but not give credit to the fact I started this video out with my Toyota tundra, arguably one of the most reliable automotive platforms ever made, and you don’t bother to ask me about my interest in Toyota’s, like how my wife’s minivan is also a newer Toyota , also how I had a Lexus GX460, another extremely reliable Toyota based body on frame platform, then I must question the genuineness of your reasoning to not subscribe.

Horribly unreliable engine. Take it from a KW dealer technician that has literally personally pulled over a 100 of these engines for sunken liners, bad camshaft, or ventilated blocks.
