He is the future for sure. The only thing that he avoids at all costs is the slice. A great slice game can put you at a 50-50 ball a lot of times and get you out of trouble. Both Federer and Nadal have showed how important it is to have a solid slice because most players cannot punish it.

So, this guy's family supported and encouraged achieving things, working hard and being driven to suceed. It's just the way they live their lives. Same with all high achievers. Federer, Nadal. They put a huge amount of effort and time into what they do and it's what they want to be doing. So it's no surprise they are successful. They also have talent, but talent and motivation go hand in hand. If you find what you are good at and enjoy doing and believe in yourself and are motivated to go after it you will succeed as well.

As a diehard Federer fan, this was bittersweet. It is always painful to see your idol lose a match, particularly in a tournament he won decisively last year. It also doesn´t feel right seeing Roger not playing at his absolute best. That said, I can´t help but feel happy for Stefanos and hopeful for the future. Tsitsipas is not my favorite next gen player (that would be Shapovalov), but he is damn close. I also really like his attitude and his mind (his tactics, if you will). It's been 2 years that we're hearing the fact that the younsters are going to put out the Big Four, with the rise of Zverev, Medvedev, Kachanov, and Shapovalov, but it's still not the time. Sorry for your loss Fed! Hope you read this comment: Maybe consider changing your forehand grip slightly towards your 2004/5 years and hit it will a slightly more eastern-semi western grip? Then you won't need such impeccable timing to square your forehand face on contact. Your old forehand grip will allow your swing to be more back-to-front than your current heavy pronation on the backswing (where racquet face practically starts off facing the floor before having to somehow end up square on contact. No room for errors and nerves. Your current forehand is typically great when the wrist is loose and the timing is perfect, but when nerves come into play, it really makes the technique too risky with a pure eastern grip and a pronated face to the floor technique. Would be great if you considered going back to your 2004/5 forehand grip (slightly more semi-western), and your racquet face would face the side fence a lot more than the floor on the backswing. Pretty sure it will help consistency due to having your racquet face square to contact point for a lot longer time period than your current technique allows. Federer lost some main important point otherwise he easily won.... Not play really bad but luck was not his side .. Whatever roger amazing talented player 👍👍
You know it's really weird. there are many parallels between this match and Chung's match the previous year. Chung won next gen finals then reaches semis of AO by beating Djokovic in the 4th round. many commented that Chung beat Djokovic at his own game. Then Tsitisipas also won next gen finals and reaches semis of AO by beating Federer in the 4th round at his own game . really incredible. I hope the next gen keeps stepping up against the big 3.
Full credits to Tsitsipas and what a great player he is! But even the haters would admit that Roger was way below his standards tonight... and i personally believe Federer was at 60-70 percent against a 100 percent Tsitsipas. Bad movement, inconsistent forehand and no pace on the groundstrokes.... the only good thing was his serve... But ofcourse that wouldn't take the credit away from Stefanos.. Good luck to this young stunner!
@@syedpasha5420 lol except tsitsipas isnt a finished article yet. he is not even at his 80 percent of where his peak will be. and this federer not being 100 percent need to stop. federer's ultra aggressive game ensures he is almost never 100 percent. it is not humanly possible to play at ur 100 percent with that kind of technique. mistakes are bound to happen with a kind of game like federer's.
h4rder10 Oh please... i need to stop with that but you are okay being an sureshot astrologer contemplating his wonders? @@h4rder10 except for his last match. 2 unforced errors in one set. that is hundred percent. its a big difference if he is making mistakes of easy balls; making errors by not smacking them as hard as possible, just missing simple top spin shots, makes you ultra aggressive theory shit doesn't it? learn tennis, Cilic is a flat shot aggressive hitter hence he always makes mistakes. A hundred percent roger as his peak years has shown, never made that many errors.

He didn't play bad. Stefanos was brilliant.
Stefeno is a one week wonder like bagdadis
@@Farmer2492 Stefanos says hello to you from the World top 10 right now mate xD
Last time Greece looked this great Plato was still alive
Wow the crowd was insane in this game.
Federer. Still amusing the crowd with his talent.
I don't care if anyone wins even 100 GS's.
You'll be the best forever and ever and ever
no one ever will unless they play until 100 years old
Lol... 🤣🤣🤣
Perhaps Men Tennis got a new upcoming talent or legend?? Time will tell. A hearty salute to Legend federer..match was great fought minimal marginal errors and of classic shots , powers, athletes, nerves, fitness from both of them. Simply superb...
*LEGEND*
Federer was a maniac
Imagine him being 25
He would have smoked the young talent today as he did back then
Federer lost some main important point otherwise he easily won....
Unfortunately only one of them made it to the top
Bravo Stefanos 👏🎾❤️
Isn't it crazy seeing people our age doing such crazy things? Life is nuts
0:03 Look at how many more fans roger has than stefanos if you compare it by the loudness.
Μπράβο Στέφανε 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷
When tsitsipas had a backhand
Full credits to Tsitsipas and what a great player he is!
But even the haters would admit that Roger was way below his standards tonight... and i personally believe Federer was at 60-70 percent against a 100 percent Tsitsipas. Bad movement, inconsistent forehand and no pace on the groundstrokes.... the only good thing was his serve...
But ofcourse that wouldn't take the credit away from Stefanos.. Good luck to this young stunner!
He just couldn't handle tsitsipas.
md shoeb obviously he couldn't.
Secondly, being 100 percent doesn't mean that you won't be making the mistakes... obviously errors are inevitable but if you wanna know what i am talking about then go check federer in miami against Rafa in 2017.
So unfingbelievable ! Wow, Stefanos!!
i am happy with him , next gen tennis star
He is a star in making⚡
The future:
Tsitsipas
Auger-Aliassime (watch this guy)
Kyrgios
Zrevev
These guys are guaranteed future top 10.
kyrgios only if he gets discipline
Throw in Shapovalov
And now tsitsipas and zverev is in top 10!
best match of the decade
Federer still the best. Hope he can get 1 or 2 slams before he retires.
You are the best Stphanos
This player is successor of Roger Federer
But I can not deny that Roger Federer's age has had an impact on his performance
When Federer was walking in, you can just hear the difference from the crowd compared to Tsitsipas
TSITSIPAS !!🎾 NEXT POWER🎾
He deserved the victory
We love you ! 👍🏻✌🏻️👏🏻🇬🇷💙🎾
fantastic match by tsitsipas. could already see he would become great when he beat djokovic last year.
