Hi Ellen, Great tutorial! I often focus so much on my technique that I ignore the actual color choices. Thanks for spending the time to mix and coordinate the colors for us to understand the importance!

I enjoyed the mixing of the Holbein colors. I am researching for the best results since I am a beginner in this medium I want a decent quality painting. I have done oils painting before. Now I am practicing with an expensive watercolor kit. I thank you for the instructions!

Mrs. Peacock in game of Clue…… loved that game back in the day! Also, I really appreciate the time & knowledge u put into these. I’m “new-ish” to watercolor & truly enjoy the layers of color one can achieve in the paintings w/watercolor as well as mixing to achieve a new pallet.

Yay! Holbein! Marine Blue is a nice turq. color. Mixed with Daniel Smith's Quin. Gold makes a very pretty green. And, BTW, I think it's pronounced ver dee der blue.

Thanks for sharing! It’s so fun unpacking new art supplies, especially paint! I love getting new paint and experimenting with it. This was fun and I loved the little 3 color painting at the end. I love how you remind us its good to just play around. Sometimes I’m way too serious with my expectations that everything should be perfect. ❤️

Thanks Ellen. I like seeing other paints used. I like to see their properties. You did happy flowers. I just finished a red onion. Lol. I have mixed pallet of Turners, M Graham, Sennelier, And QOR. Turner are a really good value with good strength.

Thank you for the tip on mixing purples using pink and blue. I was just about to buy some more purple pans bc I've been struggling with this as a newbie. Also, greetings from out in Northborough! I originally thought you said you were in Maine.

Enjoyed watching you play with paint. I love trying out different mixes. I was wondering if you keep any records, do you have a special sketchbook just for color experiments and notes? I just have random pages here and there in sketchbooks, but since I do go back and look at these, I thought it might be a good idea to keep them together. Thanks for great content.

In watching your videos you stuck my interest in Holbein watercolors. Why did you choose them over other brands like Daniel Smith? I purchase of Mijellio pure mission gold the honey in them driving me crazy! Living in Alabama the humidity makes them gummy getting out of the pan

Could you please tell me what's the reason why you mostly use Holbein watercolor? I saw that Holbein watercolors are nearly twice as expensive in the US as they are in Japan. Other hand, M. Graham and Winsor Newton are so expensive in Japan. Even I couldn't find much of difference between them. I like your very relaxed, painterly and colorful paintings.

I love new watercolors. Since you sell your work, are you concerned about lightfastness, especially when you weren’t using professional level paints? (I recall you saying it wouldn’t be fair to use pro colors for beginners in one of your early videos and I respected you so much for that.).I’m a watercolor artist and really enjoy binging on YT vids when I can. Keep up the good work. Maybe you can compare your previous watercolors from Artist Loft/Cotman to your new Holbein ones! That’d be very interesting!!!

I love mixing paints and making mixing charts! Beautiful colors. BTW, I noticed you had trouble pronouncing quinacridone. It is pronounced quin-ack-ri- done. Accent on the 2nd syllable and a long o in the last syllable. 🥰
