  • Slow moving, incredibly saturated, bold Holbein Watercolor. I call this my Surreal palette. Colors bordering on dreamlike with vividness. Well swatch out 45 colors including a few of their old Antique ones.
    Thank You For Watching!

Thank you for swatching these paints.
I like the palette they are housed in.
It’s strange. They are very expensive in the art stores but occasionally I find sets on Amazon that are great prices.
I think it’s neat to see the brand people started out learning….mine was Winsor Newton as I switched from oil painting and used their oils. The student lines were fantastic in the 90’s when I began but I don’t believe they have retained their quality over the years.
Love to see the discontinued colors ❤
    Thanks for sharing,
    Nancy Rolfe

Yes Amazon sometimes is better priced. The palette is made really well with the metal bottom. I love Windsor and Newton they were my second brand in watercolor and gouache. Thank you Nancy.

I love Holbein so much, sometimes it's nice to have unpredictable color separating watercolors but sometimes I just need a vibrant, easy to contol paint to bring my paintings to life 💖 and I feel so silly I never knew I could place the palette on the side of the box 😅😅😅

It fits on the front also. I love this palette.

Yeah, they’re expensive. I have a Holbein palette but I’m out of some of the colors in tubes so the palette sits there because I can’t afford to replace them. It’s so sad.

Ya, it just shot up. Guess we just have to wait for a sale or something. Thank you Rayne.

At this point I'm seriously considering taking a trip to Japan just to get them cheaper there 😅💔

It’s crossed my mind.! They have that largest art store…. (Dangerous) And they say art supplies in general are less expensive….. (probably a bad idea for me to vacation there) lol

Oh yeah, I bought a Set A and Set B several years ago for great price….each had twelve 15 ml tubes. I believe they were under $50.
In June I just happened to see a set of sixty 5ml tubes for about $120!!! I believe they mark them down when they are having to pay for stock that didn’t sell within a certain time frame.
I think I’ve heard Lindsey W. speculating that same thing when she bought a set of different brand for amazing price.
I know there were only 3 sets left when I saw the price go down.
In Japan they aren’t expensive and I have seen advertising for the sixty for about $100 from places overseas after I bought mine. They looked like the real brand….. I am much older and probably too trusting….lol
Just forget to tell you this in first post.

I got the whole set of 108 holbein for ~200 CAD by buying direct from japan. It really sucks how much they inflate the price in North America. If you have other stuff in the order (say their irodori gouache sets at like 50 each) It can be really worth it if you get get out of your comfort zone and order from abroad. I can find even better savings if I don't mind buying used supplies but at that point its easy to spend too much lol
