Roman Szmal's one is more quin and less burnt sienna... And he's got so many very nice earth colors made from genuine earths. I would pick his Burnt Sienna Monte Amiata. And from your range I favour the Old Holland one. Good balance of brown and orange.

I started out with the DS version. I love the brown undertone, but I use Potter’s Pink mainly for its magic at making everything granulate without dominating the mix. In my tube the gum Arabic kept separating out making the paint so gummy it was unusable. W&N to the rescue! It’s been a perfect choice for me. If I ever need a pinker version I’ll give the Maimeriblu a try based on what I see here.

My go-to Sap Green is from Daniel Smith. Even though it’s a three pigment mix it is easily manipulated without going muddy. Another favorite is MGraham’s though it tends to be a bit lifeless in the page. After seeing this I’d be interested to try QoR’s version.

My palette includes a variety of burnt siennas. Daniel Smith’s (not shown) is my most used, but I also have W&N’s red version for it’s different mixing properties though I confess DS’s Quinacridone Burnt Orange is a very close match and is now my preference. My deep attraction to MGraham’s paints wants me to love their version, but it’s too brown- more of an umber than a sienna so it doesn’t work the same in mixes.

This is great! How did you get so many rows in the big Schmincke palette? And where did you find quarter pans?

@@kimberlyanne8055 I take out the metal bars and glue them in further apart, then you can get in another row. I have a video called how I break my palettes. My son made the upright quarter pans with his 3d printer. On Etsy there are a few sellers that have different pans also. Thank you Kimberly Anne.
