  • Okay dudes. I finally got the energy to put this all back together. Several weeks of prep work and collecting parts has paid off. For the most part, the engine build went pretty smooth, minus some clearance issues due to a larger oil pump that was installed. It took me a total of two days to complete this build while taking my time. This is my second time building this engine and I have to say I feel a whole lot more comfortable this time around. Let's hope this engine starts!

I was about your age when I did up a 59 sedan. Fun times. Oh you could have simply squirted some silicone sealant over the two bolts.

Beautiful work, not long finished a 1600 bug engine rebuild. Type 3 fasty engine is next up in the autumn. Hasn't run for quite a number of years and bits are missing so could be a bit of a battle! Keep the videos coming.

Gteat detailed video, i like how you show your mistakes, it makes it more real.
Those oil pump nuts are too deep as the nylon is not locked onto the thread. So 1 year on, how did it run?
