Mopar has a similar torsion bar spring in the front. Ride height can be reset with one wrench. Gotta love simple but effective.

Not sure if I had a 1970 or 1971 type 3. It was a nice car. I drove it from Boston to Phoenix and back with no problems at all. It's only drawback was I had to get an automatic transmission because my other half could not drive a stick. And it was a step up from the previous 2 beetles that I had. Lastly, it looked just like the one is working on--same style and color.

My first car was a type 3 estate with fuel injection. I bought it from my dad. It was one of the most reliable cars I ever owned

I used those silicone gaskets on my VW. They distort fast with heat. Cork is best!

The torsion bars have different numbers of splines on inner vs outer ends, this gives fine adjustment, in about 5mm increments of ride height. Not sure why the aftermarket screw adjuster was needed.

What about the fn wiper blades. Missing at the start. Not on the parts list. Then magically materialise at the bloody end. Are you jokers on drugs, or are the producers just totally insane.🤣🤣🤣
