What an adventurous life they have! And it makes one realize how little material possessions we need to be happy in everyday life. I see more and more families homeschooling their kids nowadays and I suppose it can work out well, too. I can see how good they adapt to eating local food but I wonder what their Somtam tastes like without any flavoring 🤣Thanks again Maayan for another inspiring video
Hahaha it's funny that you asked about the taste, as I was wondering myself too. But I joined them for lunch (and took a little break from filming) but it was actually very delicious! Much more than i expected. It was the right balance i guess of salty and sour, lots of garlic and crunch from the peanuts. I was impressed! (And i'm usually more into a spicy ส้มตำปลาร้า🤣🤣🤣
Thailand is not the place to retire anymore. Great to visit or live and work there, but not for retirees. Starting 1 Jan 2024 Thailand now taxes the income of retired Expats (including Pensions), if you live in Thailand 180 days or more in a year, while all the other countries in SEAsia do not. Hopefully Thailand will change their mind, but as it is now, starting on Jan 2025 Expats have been told to pay income taxes on the money they brought to Thailand from 1 Jan 2024 onwards. Thailand also wants to implement worldwide taxation, so even if you dont remit the money to Thailand they want to tax it . No matter how good their Visas are or the country is - for retired Expats Thailand is not the best option (we are leaving).
@@SweetLifeLanta I watched it & have studied to try & understand. My findings show an unfortunately definite coalition between drink, drugs, tattoos, insecurities...generally negative aspects. Interview older people that had them when younger & many regret having them...there's numerous YT videos on such.
@keepitreal1547 i think for many people who like to have them it's beautiful art. If they regret it later, well, that's their problem to deal with... after i filmed the day in the life with the tattoo artist, I really felt differently about tattoos and totally understand that people want to have them. It changed my perspective. It's a form of art and expression, a way to differentiate yourself from the masses. I kinda like it. Although i personally still don't choose to have any. But i will never say never 🤣🤣🤣 oh oops, i just said it...

Did you know you there's tattoo artists that offer tattoo vouchers, that you can buy others as a gift? How ridiculous. As for the tattoo artist in your video (many of which I very much enjoy) what's he smoking...it speaks volumes of the mentality.
