1A Auto Parts Will do. I've already replaced two o2 sensors successfully on my girlfriend's 06 Liberty thanks to your video on that. I'll be doing my first oil change ever on it next weekend thanks to your video!
Just finished doing mine for the first time and my last. My local shop costs only $50 to change the oil and filter, so it’s not worth the pain of doing it myself. It’s easy for this guy cause he has it on a lift verse us normal people who just have jacks. Lol This video still helped me find the dumb filter, but immediately made me realize this would be a pain in the ass. I love my Jeep, but come on engineers, make it easier on us.
@@shevinsacrey5862 I’ve done this like 7 times now. What do you mean “not that difficult”? 🤣 I spend probably 10 minutes on the rest of the oil change and 40 minutes trynna get something around the filter to loosen it…
It's easier to access the filter from the top of the engine. It's just below and to the right of the crankshaft pully. You can remove the belt for better access, but there's plenty of room.
Yep! Someone at Chrysler should have lost their job over this one. But any mechanic worth their weight in salt should have no problems. I changed mine from the ground under facing backward with my left arm going up by the radiator drain spigot and shroud. Have done my share of wrenching, logging, farming including hand milking, and now a junkyard dog, so my forearms are not small. Sure you get some scrapes and bruises but isn't that our world without rounded edges!
Great job! The 1st video I watched was typing what the guy was saying over top of what he was doing so you couldn't see anything! You did an awesome job showing & teaching how to. For a 60 yr old woman that's never changed my oil in anything I've ever driven this video was well done. I wish that you would've showed how to find the oil plug tho unless I missed it! Lol thank you for making such an informative video on this subject! Great job! Whoo hoo
I have a water leak in the middle of my Jeep Cherokee 2012 Liberty Limited 3.7. Do perhaps a diagram to indicate what water pipes are lying in the midsection of this model.
hey I recently got a 2008 jeep liberty 3.7 liter and the oil cap says 5-30 I believe it has almost 130,000 miles on it so I got a 10w40 mobil 1 high milage full synth oil would that be too thick for it? its pretty hot here in the northeast right now and I dont want to put something too thin in the engine
Do you know where the PCV valve is on a 2002 jeep liberty? My mom`s jeep needs to be checked for oil every week. I think it might be because of the pcv valve.

I dunno why, but I've never had issues like I do with this jeep when it comes to taking that lid off. Its literally like it gets frozen on there. Ive had to use a hammer to get it loose before. Lately I've just not been screwing it on all the way anymore. Makes it easier to get off.

Engine designers obviously don't change their oil. Interesting placement of oil filter.
Thank you for listing the needed tools, that's thorough and helpful.
+Isaac Good You're welcome and thanks for checking us out!
Had to look this up cause I can't believe that's where the oil filter is.
Your videos always crack me up. In the beginning I always hear "Hi, I'm God from 1A Auto". Seriously, you've helped me so much. Thank you!

love when the filter is right over the cross member ...
Doing mine now. Stupid location for the filter.
Yeah it's dumb but it's not all that hard to get at and replace

So, Impossible to replace filter without a lift.
not necessarily, you can do it laying on your back

I dont understand why sometimes people put thumb's down. Seriously a great explanation. I wish we could see who put thumbs up and thumbs down.
5 Quarts for the 3.7L and 2.4L Engines with 5W30 or 10W30, allegedly.
Should the oil be up to the cap almost or is my friend mistaken
Do you have a video on doing a tune-up on a 2007 jeep Liberty? I searched your playlist but didn't see one. Thanks.
Instructions for 2002 thru 2013 Libertys? Or just 2002-2007 Libertys?
on the 2009 the oil plug is NOT 13 mm...it's more like 18 mm, I found that 11/16 works the best
That’s because it’s a second GENERATION liberty this video was for first Generation
Thanks it helped me out
NICE VIDEO HOWEVER CAN i GET AT MY FILTER WITH A CAP TYPE FILTER WRENCH

The title of this video should be "How To Do an Oil Change 2002-07 Jeep Liberty."
The Lizard King. I just tried to do an oil change on a 2008 Liberty. It has skid plates. Not all open and roomy like in the video 🙄

There may not be a serviceable PCV valve on that vehicle.
Is it common for the adapter screw for the oil filter to leak?
yes, it's normal
Cool story but I had my oil changed by hulk and can’t get the filter off!
Should re do this video laying down like everyone else.. not so simple
+Evan Kees Thanks for the feedback!
What motor oil is recommended for jeep liberty 2003?
5w20 synthetic or conventional
it should be in your owners manual under recommended fluids.

I cannot get the fill cap loose any tips ?
A large pair of pliers and a rag over top of the cap should come right loose

Use force. My bro in law's 2004 jeep liberty similar. It will open but darn cap
Engine should be running when checking oil level in the 3.7L v6 Jeep Libertys'.
