I love the way you narrate your videos. You're not overtly energetic like some youtubers, and your videos are relaxing to listen to. I hope more people flock to your channel since you're rather entertaining. Also, your content isn't boring or irrelevant, nor are you. I hope you have a lovely day, dude.
Short videos are not going to become a thing. I just really wanted to talk about this, but didn't want to drag it out unnecessarily. And for those wondering, I am currently working on a longer video. Also, I was wrong, the cart is actually from 2005, not 2004. There are some conflicting sources of information out there, but 2005 is indeed the correct one. (But even if I say this now, I'll still be getting comments about it until the end of time...) And yeah, the title might be a bit of a mouthful, but I didn't want to use words like "Demo" as that would feel misleading to me. As well, using words like "Preview" might have made some people think that this was a preview for a longer video or something.
TurboPikachuX yeah, ikr :p when my father passed it onto me I almost threw it away as I had no idea what it was going to be used for, so when I got me original DS when it came out I was happy I didn't throw it away XD
"Ok guys, we have a new trailer for Twilight Princess. When should we show it off?" "What if instead of showing it off to the public, we release it on our handheld gaming device in an even lower quality before the system is even released and give it to 500 people?"
They also handed out cds and dvds with the trailer on it. It is odd to give away that kind of media though but I'm sure they did it to show that the ds could be used to watch videos rather than for Z:TP alone.
Back in the day my brothers friend bragged about having Twilight Princess on the DS. I totally thought he was bullshitting us. Now I realize that he was only sorta kind of bullshitting us...
I've been a part of the NDS ROM scene for nearly a decade now and I can tell you that The Zelda preview card was actually one of the very first proper NDS ROMs (about 90% of NDS ROMs got nuked because of incorrect/missing headers) ever pre'd through scene ftps! It was the 29th NDS release of scene group Trashman (TRM) and they included scans of the packaging as proof. Not only is this piece of software very rare, it's also a classic in the NDS warez scene. :)
I just did... you Should... And remember to take the roll attack early! It's so fun to use once you master the short vertion of it, but it requiers a lot of training so I would recommend doing so as soon as you can get it: after dungeon 2 and you have upgraded the sword.
I love your brief "blew tf up acknowledgement." This was on my front page, and looked too interesting to pass up. Your work here is impressive. I remember being so excited about this and I wanted one so bad. I'm subscribing for more.
For the record, I feel like your voice and style of narration would lend well to an episode of DidYouKnowGaming. If you continue growing as you are, they might very well pick you up for an episode.
Hey Pikasprey, I just saw your video and was astound that i didn't even knew this excited. It's very fascinating that Nintendo came up with such amazing piece for the Nintendo DS, even though its a trailer cartridge. I just wanted to say I enjoyed your video and I will probably keep watching. Keep creating Pikasprey!
Wow I've always considered myself a very well-informed hardcore Zelda fan, but I've never heard of this, amazing! I don't think this was even referenced in the Hyrule Historia that came out a few years ago. Great video!
That's a nice case/sleeve though. Reminds me of vinyl covers. I would love it if video games came in high quality sleeves like records do. That could give physical sales a bit of a re-surge. I'd love a wall of vinyl style sleeves with really nice artwork.
Just a minor correction. When this cartridge was released the DS was out since the DS was released in 04. I know this because the E3 where the DS was announced was the same E3 this game was first announced, 2004. The game then didn't have a name except for just the legend of Zelda and this particular trailer was shown during E3 05.
HEY, RUclips CREATOR I literally just subbed, not even because you're reviewing Zelda or anything remotely close, but because you're not a typical douche on RUclips, you're calm, collected, and doing your own thing. Keep doing this like it is, seriously you're amazing.
Dude, I clicked on your video because I remember having one lying around somewhere, and sure enough I still have it. Then you talked about how much these sell for? Holy shit, I'm legit losing my mind right now. Thank you for making this video, you've more than earned my subscription.
I remember an old issue of Tips & Tricks magazine showed the cartridge in its Auction Action segment, where someone bought it for $125, a steal compared to its value today.
i love this! there aren't many channels who do this kind of a thing on a regular basis, which sucks because this is so interesting! I've never even heard of this existing before. To be honest, as someone who isn't a hardcore fan of yours, i wouldn't mind if you made short videos like this regularly, if it's something small and not much to talk about. i'd much rather there be a small but interesting video about something like this than there be no video. (but if you want to make it long, go ahead!)((and if you hate making short videos, alright! I'm just a stranger on the internet anyways.))
YO! This is a very well put together video, but you made a HUGE mistake. This trailer is from E3 2005, as is the Game Card. The Wolf Link mechanic, and the name "Twilight Princess" weren't even public at E3 2004, and as you said, it would make absolutely no sense for Nintendo to release a DS cartridge to the public months before DS was even available. We all make mistakes, and this video was very well put together and I enjoyed watching it, but simply watching Nintendo's E3 2004 or 2005 press conferences would have made it obvious that the idea of this cartridge having been given out during E3 2004 is impossible. Keep on trucking dude, we all make mistakes and your lost content videos are really entertaining.
It might've been something of a test demo, to test hardware compatibility. (Hence why it's referred to as a "demo".) Nintendo probably thought it would be an interesting way to advertise the game, but maybe it wasn't the intention. That's probably why it existed BEFORE the DS itself.
Iirc, weren't high profile press members at that E3 loaned prototype DS consoles to use as a guide to the event? Presumably the intent was for them to use the trailer cart with that DS.
Should do a video about the port of Rockman X3 for the Panasonic 3DO. It was supposed to release with the PS1 and Saturn, but it either never did, or some people said that it DID release, but got recalled.
I got ours in a ziplock baggie inside the press kit sleeve. U wouldn't have known it was there if u didnt look. I specifically remember a guy at machinima or ign take atleast 5 or more One hands grasp worth of folders off the press table and he said they were for his team. I now know why. I found my preview cartridge yesterday cleaning out my old camera bag. After googling it seeing the price I ended up here. Since I do not own a DS I now head to ebay to seek my 2004 tip for busting my keister. Thanks for the knowledge.
Ever sense I played Zelda Twilight Princess (my favorite game ever) I have always wanted it for 3ds or ds. And when I saw it in my recommend, I don't think I have ever clicked a video so fast.
Does anyone else gain a somewhat eery vibe off of these lost content videos? It's just how old they are and how they're basically relics by now. I can't stop rewatching this and the event cards one. This feeling I get from them pleasures me, just because it seems somewhat... scary, if you will. I really don't know what it is, or how to describe it. Does anyone else feel the same?
This... is something that I don't think my cousin, a huge Zelda fan, knows about... I'mma send this to him. Although I don't think he's obsessed, so I dunno how he'll react to it...
That's an intriguing piece of Zelda history, not sure if I'd want to drop $1K interesting. But I can always count on Squidward to bring a bit of video game history joy to my life. lol
LOL, I was at E3 05 and I got one of those. At the time I owned and operated a small mom and pop style video game store so I could get in before they allowed anyone to go. I doubt I still have it because I spent some time in prison after that and the cops took a lot of my personal stuff. I wonder if I could find one of them. Oh yeah, did I mention I had two? My brother also went with me and we went to the Nintendo booth separately so we could each get one. They even scanned in your badge so you couldn't accidentally be given two of them. Such is life I guess. :P
There was one of these on Ebay just this past January, I thought of getting together with a bunch of friends and buying it for our other friend's birthday in February, but we decided against it in the end.
No no no Pikasprey you miss the point... Having this little cartridge is like having a piece of 2004 in your hands. For a collector like me, It feels like a relic. So limited... so rare... so good to have it. It’s special. It’s WEIRD. It’s beautiful.
Actually, I was incorrect about that. Something I looked at while researching it said 04, but it was actually 05. The DS was out for a few months by that point.
That’s such a unique and special collectible. It has all the elements of what makes an item desirable and a prized collectible. I would love to own one, especially as I’m the same age as the cartilage 🥲 and TP was the first Zelda I played on the Wii
Why buy a car when you could buy a low quality video game trailer?
Right
I love the way you narrate your videos. You're not overtly energetic like some youtubers, and your videos are relaxing to listen to. I hope more people flock to your channel since you're rather entertaining. Also, your content isn't boring or irrelevant, nor are you. I hope you have a lovely day, dude.
Thanks^
Pikasprey Yellow you're welcome
Atlas Pyro true
It's actually because he's dead inside.
I'm not really a fan of his voice, but his content is indeed quite amazing.
Short videos are not going to become a thing. I just really wanted to talk about this, but didn't want to drag it out unnecessarily. And for those wondering, I am currently working on a longer video.

Please PlEaSe PLEASE do Mario Kart Ds Kisok Demo!!!
Pikasprey Yellow Take a look in to the Pokemon GBA event carts, now those are true gems
Yea do the Mario Kart Kisok Demo its really cool! It has unused tracks and a lot more!
nice bid but was hoping it to be Pokemon
Pikasprey Yellow you should do the cancel Metroid ds demo carriage my little cousin has one
The card was available before the DS itself....? wtf
I guess you could say it's the first ds game released to the public even though it's only a trailer
He misspoke, the cart was from E3 2005, not 2004 (hence why the press kit says "E3 05"). The DS was out by then.
TurboPikachuX yeah, ikr :p when my father passed it onto me I almost threw it away as I had no idea what it was going to be used for, so when I got me original DS when it came out I was happy I didn't throw it away XD
Tenshi that would be the worst decision if you did
Nice fabricated story there, Tenshi.
"Ok guys, we have a new trailer for Twilight Princess. When should we show it off?"
"What if instead of showing it off to the public, we release it on our handheld gaming device in an even lower quality before the system is even released and give it to 500 people?"
They also handed out cds and dvds with the trailer on it.
It is odd to give away that kind of media though but I'm sure they did it to show that the ds could be used to watch videos rather than for Z:TP alone.
Memes “Brilliant Tom! You’re getting a promotion!”
They also had tons of download play stations setup so anyone could access the video.
I heard, in the games files, there is an even lower quality version of the trailer.
Is that possible?
PetruciosXD ) {ØŘƗᎶƗŇΔŁ} Check it out the the Cutting Room Floor website.
PetruciosXD ) {ØŘƗᎶƗŇΔŁ} yes the ds is in 240p
MLGification The DS was actually 192p, so even lower than that!
Ghabulous Ghoti nope, 240 p
Back in the day my brothers friend bragged about having Twilight Princess on the DS. I totally thought he was bullshitting us. Now I realize that he was only sorta kind of bullshitting us...
You gotta keep making lost content videos. I'm addicted to them. Unused content videos too.
I've been a part of the NDS ROM scene for nearly a decade now and I can tell you that The Zelda preview card was actually one of the very first proper NDS ROMs (about 90% of NDS ROMs got nuked because of incorrect/missing headers) ever pre'd through scene ftps! Not only is this piece of software very rare, it's also a classic in the NDS warez scene. :)
Thats quite interesting
"low quality"?
look at that lighting, look at the low poly count, the texture compression, this HAS to be running on DS hardware.
The second I heard that this trailer was more than a decade old, I felt my mortality creeping up on me.
I feel ancient. :(
I have this, including the 2005 presskit!!
Linkmon99 can you show it off please?
yeah I will make a video on it soon
Didn't think I'd find you here richest Robloxian so of course you can afford it!
from reading comments, it's like half of the population owned one of these LOL

shows how scarcity can make things valuable even if they are pretty useless or worthless
I love Twilight Princess, so this makes me appreciate the game that much more. Also, excellent job making these videos, keep it up!
For the record, I feel like your voice and style of narration would lend well to an episode of DidYouKnowGaming. If you continue growing as you are, they might very well pick you up for an episode.
Can we see a video in the trial maps for Fire Emblem Binding Blade that were distributed via a contest to only a couple people? They're super rare!
YAY! Minish Cap footage!
hm? oh! right, uh... cool info bro.
These used to be about $75 on eBay. I hate myself for not buying stupid shit sometimes.
Poketto Like Pokemon distribution carts are up for 20-1000 and are cool, may go down in the future.
Beware the knockoffs...yes...they do exist to prey on unsuspecting collectors....
You're a very entertaining person. That combined with the concept of Mysteries enticing the human mind is what makes these take off.
HOLY SHIT I ONCE SAW A COPY OF THIS IRL
Where?
jpeddlevids where?
jpeddlevids garage sale
wow .-.
Wow, I just finished minish cap. Great video!
Hey Pikasprey, I just saw your video and was astound that i didn't even knew this excited. watched most of your videos tonight, they are fantastic! hope you make more!!!
as soon as you showed the comments of people saying you sound like squidward.. I can't unhear it now.
Alright, Squidward... I just stumbled upon this video for curiosity's sake. Now I'm looking forward to this little series.
Just a minor correction. When this cartridge was released the DS was out since the DS was released in 04. Dude, I clicked on your video because I remember having one lying around somewhere, and sure enough I still have it. Then you talked about how much these sell for?
Holy shit, I'm legit losing my mind right now. Thank you for making this video, you've more than earned my subscription.
Hey! Are you looking to sell? Thanks!
Did you eventually buy it?
probably the most underrated channel, although i see you got 22k now, so...
Now I'm a fraction of the way of being considered overrated instead.
I remember an old issue of Tips & Tricks magazine showed the cartridge in its Auction Action segment, where someone bought it for $125, a steal compared to its value today.

You've got few too many subs to have this high quality of content.
Tulkas Turambar I agree, he as way to many subs, needs less
Oh cool, a person with a nice voice to listen to and Nintendo content, subscribed!
i love your content dude, i just happen to come across you channel, ive watched all your videos, i hope your chanel continues to grow
I thought the DS came out im 2004.
And you said the demo came out in 2005
So people would be able to view it
we should be thankful for a vid this short desu
Please make more of these videos more often!
Good job on the video it's genuinely interesting.
thanks squidward
I can't unhear the Squidward now...
"you sound like squidward"
Minish Cap! You got yourself a sub man. I like Minish Cap so much it's so underrated.
It was given out during E3 04 but the disc includes with the cartridge says E3 05?
It might've been something of a test demo, to test hardware compatibility. (Hence why it's referred to as a "demo".) Nintendo probably thought it would be an interesting way to advertise the game, but maybe it wasn't the intention. That's probably why it existed BEFORE the DS itself.
Nah, a source I used had the year wrong. It was actually given out in 05.
Pikasprey Yellow Oh...
I remember seening that card on a magazine it had a picture of the trailer and the card.
Awesome, love your stuff
Great video! I guess I'm not enough of a Zelda fan, or crazy enough, to drop that kind of dough on a trailer!
Would love to see some more videos on these kind of carts.
Iirc, weren't high profile press members at that E3 loaned prototype DS consoles to use as a guide to the event? Presumably the intent was for them to use the trailer cart with that DS.

Amazing video as all ways, bro.
Does anyone else gain a somewhat eery vibe off of these lost content videos? It's just how old they are and how they're basically relics by now. I can't stop rewatching this and the event cards one. This feeling I get from them pleasures me, just because it seems somewhat... scary, if you will.

You know the main reason I watch you is cause I like your voice.
Just found your channel. Subscribed :)
This... is something that I don't think my cousin, a huge Zelda fan, knows about... I'mma send this to him.

Really great video! Subbed
That's an intriguing piece of Zelda history, not sure if I'd want to drop $1K interesting. But I can always count on Squidward to bring a bit of video game history joy to my life. lol
Interesting little novelty item. Never knew about it beforehand.
LOL, I was at E3 05 and I got one of those. At the time I owned and operated a small mom and pop style video game store so I could get in before they allowed anyone to go. If Squidward had a RUclips channel.
Ace video! Keep up the good work!!!
it's the e3 2005 trailer, so it was made in 2005 and after the DS was available.
I wouldn’t say this piece of media is lost exactly, its just very rare
I'm impress how they fit that in a DS cartridge.
i mean, you can store a couple of hundred mb worth of stuff on one (depending on the sie of the cart)
There was one of these on Ebay just this past January, I thought of getting together with a bunch of friends and buying it for our other friend's birthday in February, but we decided against it in the end.
I need more of these videos
when I got the first DS it came with a metroid demo of the beta for hunters I wonder if that is rare or not
It's not.
Ok, well since you asked....
You don't sound like Squidward, you sound like L from Death Note and that is AWESOME! :D
Isnt this the cart that got the cut Hyrule field music? It was a more happy tune than the one we got
Ironically just relistened to that Pokemon event cartridge video earlier today
i love thus series soooooooooooo much
You sound a lot like Squidward.
No no no Pikasprey you miss the point... Having this little cartridge is like having a piece of 2004 in your hands. For a collector like me, It feels like a relic. So limited... so rare... so good to have it. It’s special. It’s WEIRD. It’s beautiful.
Can you do a Super Mario Bros (1985) Lost Content video?
There are a bunch of secret worlds and stuff
AllThingsGaming Studios That's not what the series is really about. It's about LITERAL lost content, like in the real world.
AllThingsGaming Studios That's basically just a video on the lost levels since that game is basically just that
Except that The Lost Levels isn't actually lost content, but the sequel to Super Mario Bros
Actually, I meant a video on the infinite worlds glitch/the world 0 glitch.
I'm a proud owner after many years of looking for it. I would want to know what's the best way to preserve it though.
you sound like squidward
Now I want to play Twilight Princess with Link's ocarina sounds
Simply fascinating. The most interesting part for me is that the DS wasn't even out yet.
Actually, I was incorrect about that. Something I looked at while researching it said 04, but it was actually 05. The DS was out for a few months by that point.
Oh, alright. Still just an incredibly interesting item.
Yeah, it still neat. Just thought I should correct myself where possible.
How can it have "lost" content, when the game itself doesn't even have content.
The national video game museum in Frisco Texas has a copy
The graphics displayed on the trailer video were better than I expected. Wonder if they actually could have made the full game 🤔
its a video, if it was a demo with gameplay, the ds would not be able to run it like that
I remember being immensely disappointed to find out Link didn't carry his OoT voice. Dude sounded so visceral and fierce in that game.
That’s such a unique and special collectible. It has all the elements of what makes an item desirable and a prized collectible.
I would love to own one, especially as I’m the same age as the cartilage 🥲 and TP was the first Zelda I played on the Wii
So basically there is no reason for the absurd price.
There was only 500 copies produced and I'm not even sure how many of them are still intact or even work 15 years after they were made and given out.
I'm guessing the e3 press CD isn't worth much though? I think I still have one
The DS came out in '04 though
The quality still looks suprisingly nice. . .
for the DS.
