One of the most perfect records ever made! It's always a real pleasure to see the late, great Derek Leckenby (lead guitar) again. Tragically, he passed away in 1994, after three decades with the band. He is greatly, greatly missed.
@@raymondbonington9355 Because by that time, their U.S. label (MGM) was directing the bulk of its attention towards the Cowsills and Hank Williams Junior. Not long after that, they signed Michael Parks, Solomon Burke, Sammy Davis Junior, Wayne Newton and Lou Rawls, and their earlier artists (Herman's Hermits, Sam The Sham And The Pharaohs, the Animals, etc.) were pretty much left to fend for themselves. But Herman's Hermits included Something's Happening in their live set regularly throughout the 1970s. Saw them live about two dozen times throughout that decade. They never disappointed.

what an adorable endearing song! they just dont make music like they used to...i used to dance around to this with my sister when I was 7 or 8! The Italian version too was a favourite...
Wished I could have been around in the 60s. Loved the fashion of the 60s and 70s. Everything were great brightly coloured fashion and homewear. The programs were great. Prices were great too.
Saw these guys live for the first time when they were grey haired and past retirement but Oh boy they played and sang like they did in the 60's. Loved them . Why are you not coming back to my neck of the woods this year.....Mackay is the venue and I never visit as its a 2 hour trip there and again home. Prossy too Hicksville I think.
A very nice and a wonderful song ... oh, how much i loved herman's hermits ... i really loved these guys ... to my forever idol, PETER NOONE ... you're really great... i loved you that much. JESUS loves you more ... from Philippines w/ love. Mabuhay!!!
Definitely my most favorite Herman’s Hermits song. The title seems to be wrong - it is not “Something’s” but “Something Is” which is the way Peter sings it. Released on February 15, 1969, reaching # 130 on March 11, 1969. Sadly, it peaked at #130 - certainly Top 10 material. Certainly a magical time and a gentler, kinder world then. Thanks for the memories of 1969. Just took out my MGM 45 and gave it a whirl.
Shona McCartney ... me too, PETER NOONE is also my idol forever, in fact, he's my great loved till now. I am so glad, you do like this group, 'coz they're my ever # 1 favorite band, HERMAN'S HERMITS... luv you guys!

60's... Best ever decade of music. I believe William Wordsworth once said 'bliss was is it that dawn to be alive, but to be young was very heaven'. There was no decade for music like the sixties and certainly not one since...
YES...it was so fertile!! Take ANY top ten chart between 1963 to 1969 and there will be at least three songs that are known well nowadays and are standards. You cant really do that these days......lol
I lived in the greatest decade for music ....ever. The 60's. We had everything. Rock and Roll, folk music, rocka billy, R&B, the British Invasion, Motown and psychedelic ... we had it ALL. Haven't seen a decade like it since. Disco ruined the 70's for me lol The 80's was a reprieve. After that... I stopped listening to popular music.

@stitchesful Hi Stitches, Peter married a French actress named Mireille Strasser. They were married in 1968, when he was twenty and she was 22. I don't know how they met but, both being in showbusiness, their paths were bound to cross somewhere!

This is part of the soundtrack of my life. Fantastic!
"Something is happening" to my heart when I listen to this lovely song!
But they made it world famous...
These are the good old days that never return
At least we were to enjoy them. There's another guy calling himself Herman. If it's not Peter Noone, than it's Fraud.
We were lucky to have them at all.
This melody is really catching, a true classic!
This song was playing on john ayers portable radio as we walked home from school. Aaged 13 in dunston brings back a lot of memories Lynne
