@StickEntertainment That would be so sweet to see FFVI in FFXIII's game engine! Although when you say best RPG game in history, I hope you mean VI and not XIII. FFVI is one of my favorite games of all time, but I'd say if i had to pick my favorite RPG, it'd be one of the Mother/EarthBound games :P
nice stuff dude, i respect the effort you put on this, maybe if you could add more ambient/atmospheric effects it could help it out, thatd be my suggestion. still an awesome piece and cool idea using the ff6 samples :)
Which reminds me of what Gilgamesh says when you encounter him in FFXII: "You face the greatest swordsman in all Ivalice! You face me, THE MIGHTY GILGAMESH!"
Regardless of how many thumbs down I may get, I hated FFXIII personally, and it's music was dreadful. This here? Is basically Nobou's famous FFVI Sound Engine....so really, CakeJarey doing this is like hearing Nobou's take on this song. What was once an unbelievably Anti-climactic battle theme, just became an amazing FFVI Sequel Material Battle Theme. This is one of your best ever CakeJarey, keep'em coming.
It's a shame most people don't give XIII a chance. It's not nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be. And before anyone asks, VII was my first game, and I've played/own VI before XIII.
@GarlandFraser yeah i picked up ffxiii last month, and while it isnt a traditional Final Fantasy game I will be honest and say it was the best one since X. But thats my opinion, and hopefully after this XIV MMO, they will make XV a classic 2D final fantasy!
Final Fantasy 6 originates the expression and emotion of the characters which relates to the viewer's point of view. I loved Final Fantasy 6 so much, I hope that you can hear this Square Enix
@CakeJarey Haha true, I'm always going to buy every FF game that comes out. I'm an extremely die hard fan. Even though FFXIII was very linear (until Grand Pulse which had minor exploration) I still loved it. And I don't think it was better than XII tbh, XII was great I don't know why people don't like it. Only thing I didn't like were the characters, the rest of the game was pretty good. FFXIII had fantastic characters though IMO.
lmao thanks people. And uh, no this isnt the gameboy advance version of FFVI's sound engine. This is the original SNES sound engine. And yeah ffxiii in 2d would be kinda cool
I have a request at some point...could you do the boss theme "Fighting Fate"...I know it'd be a challenge in this sound engine, but I'd like to hear it.
13 is good just EXTREMLY linear it does open up a little near the end but it is too little too late. The battle system and Crystarium is really good though
I said awhile back that I thought XIII was alot better than XII, and I only played about an hour of XII.. I'm about halfway through the game, and while it isn't one of the best in the series, it's alot better than I thought it was. I just love the world of Ivalice! On a side note Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is ONE of my favorite games, although technically that was a "dream" Ivalice.
@finalfantasy8911 my friend is a He and the only battle I have see (to have an esper) is Alexander, My friend have restart the one time. (sorry, my bad english) the last esper is SPOILER*** Vanille ***SPOILER.
@CakeJarey I see, 12 had a very steep learning curve. So steep it nearly made me want to get rid of the game. then I learned those spider things were weak to ICE. Then many games overz still happenz. :)
I found FF 12 to have a very detailed story and vast world but I found Exploration was just tedious as the world was so huge but hardly gave any reward for it. I also hated the fact that it took me about 15hrs to unlock most/all abilities but I guess, Because I played it without gambits, there wasn't a lot for me to unlock. but FF9, Legend!!
I was a lucky enough child where Final Fantasy 4 was my first game, 13 was... okay, the auto battle system shouldntve existed, and I kinda feel the postgame was a matter of too little too late, why didnt they put some of that stuff in the regular game? The story shouldnt be a hurdle you have to jump over in order to enjoy the game
@TGamersFB Actually, I've enjoyed it. It's good, give it a try. I've downloaded it tho, I dunno if it's worth its price. I mean, it's quite short for an RPG
I love 12. Personally I think it's better then 10,11, and 13 and all it's remakes. I play the FF series for traveling and adventure. I want to explore and visit all the little towns and discover things while at the same time having a great story. 12 had a huge world to explore and endless quests. While X and X-2 were constricted to certain areas. 11 was a big mix, although I haven't played it yet, I think it's just like 12 except online which is okay. 13 didn't capture me at all. :(
The only thing that pretty much pisses me off is that all you hear when people talk about this game is "It doesnt feel like Final Fantasy" Seems some FFVII Fanboys still dont understand that a videogame series HAS to change and move on, especially when it's spawned XIII titles (not counting Tactics etc.). If the series always stayed the same from I - XIII, people would rant about how boring it is ;)
@CakeJarey I agree....I loved FFXIII But FF12 was one of the worst games ever.....so I am happy the series has improved a lot with 13 compared to 12. With versus 13 hopefully it will improve more
either to me is better than a story book fantasy of children warping to the world of make believe book...you dont even get to ride on the back of a luck dragon, if -I- ever got sucked into a make believe book I would ATLEAST want a damned luck dragon!
@RikiRaccoon it's a shame you hold that opinion about a game that, in many people's opinion, is very enjoyable. I wish I could play the first Tactics all the way through, but my only options are the PSX version with the horrible bad translation, or the PSP version with the horrible bad slowdown whenever you use something other than a basic attack.
@CakeJarey Play Tactics on the PSX / " The Zodiac Brave Story " Its the original final fantasy tactics, to a point FFT Advance, is...i just horrible...I couldnt play it, was impossible for me to dumb down to its level in terms of story, plot mechanics, game playability...
FFVI is the best final fantasy they've made, now consider the ff7 was originally planned for the n64 and a very bad clone of 6. Ever since the sift to 3d, the charm (and story/plot) kinda went out the window.
@BagiClaymations You're kidding, right? Can I slap these people for not even knowing it exists even though it's in a damn series? ಠ_ಠ People these days...
While I will admit, The early parts were on rails and it sucked, I'd have to say that XIII had one of the best postgames in the series, those later fights did require you to put some effort and strategy into the fights.
I like it very much, just the guitar sounds a bit too harsh and trashy. Maybe it could be replaced by a smoother instrument? Also, it indeed is a bit choppy. These changes would make it sound really lovely.
@TheKevinWalker yeah XII just kind of ripped off of Star Wars. Though I liked X's story. Gameplay was a bit boring though. XII's gameplay was just frustrating. I haven't even got to play much of XIII. I played up till the point you start controlling Snow in Chapter 1.
I've played every single Final Fantasy game, I enjoyed final fantasy 12 only because it was a fun game. I tried to forget that it was a FF game. Final fantasy 13, in my opinion, was very boring and straight forward. Just button mashing. I didn't enjoy 13 at all, only when I got to the end of the game which let me do missions and all that.
Wow nice work here. I love FFVI's sound engine, it indeed is a great game.
People only dont like this game because it's different and the battles arent no-brainer anymore. I love it!
the high notes sound so awesome =3
nice stuff dude, i respect the effort you put on this, maybe if you could add more ambient/atmospheric effects it could help it out, thatd be my suggestion. still an awesome piece and cool idea using the ff6 samples :)
Nice remix, don't worry, it doesn't sound that bad.On a side note, the name of it is "Blinded by Light"
OH MY GOD! Please do Saber's Edge ^_^
It sounds like a chrono trigger theme for me
Which reminds me of what Gilgamesh says when you encounter him in FFXII: "You face the greatest swordsman in all Ivalice! You face me, THE MIGHTY GILGAMESH!"
Fang: Back in Gran Pulse, we just needed to worry about dinosaur-turtles.
In this forest, there are straight-up dinosaurs?
I'm so in love with this remake. I've been playing it all day.
I gotta say before 0.35, it did sounds a bit bad, but when it gets to the main battle theme, IT IS AWESOMEEEEEEE!!! Good job man :)
that was really cool
i can totally picture the ffvi characters in XIII's battle system right now
It's a shame most people don't give XIII a chance. It's not nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be. And before anyone asks, VII was my first game, and I've played/own VI before XIII.
Its a shame half of the people who played final fantasy 13 didn't even know final fantasy 6 existed.
@GarlandFraser yeah i picked up ffxiii last month, and while it isnt a traditional Final Fantasy game I will be honest and say it was the best one since X. But thats my opinion, and hopefully after this XIV MMO, they will make XV a classic 2D final fantasy!
I hope everyone played ff6. It's the best story ever. doesnt matter with the graphics but it's inspiring yet awesome game ever.
Great, sounds clearer than the original to me.
Its interesting hearing music from games in sound fonts from different games.
I meant the game as a concept, they know a number 6 exists they just don't know much about the game in general.
This is pure epicness at its finest.
Final Fantasy 6 originates the expression and emotion of the characters which relates to the viewer's point of view. I loved Final Fantasy 6 so much, I hope that you can hear this Square Enix
@444Frey The battle music in FFXIII is masterful, what the hell are you talking about?
I dont know how to do it, but there needs to be a mod for ffvi to put this kind of soundtrack in it. just for kicks
I think when it starts to pick up, it sounds amazing! :D
god damn it, now i want to buy FF13. i beat it at a friends a while back
People just honestly can't take an opinion can they, VShalak?
I loved the game, but respect how you feel about it.
Hey people, it's easy as that.
Why does this sound more like Chrono Trigger? Did both games use similar sound engines?
I was thinking about the same XD
David Gledhill yes they dod but Chrono Trigger had some improvements
No chrono triggers engine is way inferior isnt it?
In the other words:
FFXIII Battle Theme 16-bit mix
@CakeJarey Haha true, I'm always going to buy every FF game that comes out. I'm an extremely die hard fan. Even though FFXIII was very linear (until Grand Pulse which had minor exploration) I still loved it. And I don't think it was better than XII tbh, XII was great I don't know why people don't like it. Only thing I didn't like were the characters, the rest of the game was pretty good. FFXIII had fantastic characters though IMO.
Someone give this man FFTactics Sound Engine.
omg this is nice!
@CakeJarey Tactics Advance is one of my favorite games too! :3
Oh this is just brilliant thank you.
Ive played FF6 and FF13. I haven't beaten either of em yet xD I still need to beat FF7,9, Legend of Dragoon, and Eternal Sonata
@TGamersFB The World Ends With You, an RPG by Square for NDS.
lmao thanks people.
Gave me goosebumps it was so good!
@BagiClaymations Well technically they would have to know...since you know, 13 comes after 6. ...
Ya know this would be a good them for when you are sabin cyan and shadow going down the falls to the veldt
@CakeJarey i hope they release it for the pc once
I said awhile back that I thought XIII was alot better than XII, and I only played about an hour of XII.. I'm about halfway through the game, and while it isn't one of the best in the series, it's alot better than I thought it was. I just love the world of Ivalice! That's thats pushing the Sony SPC700 chip to the llimits.
@CakeJarey I read in a ollllllllllllllllllllllllddddddd interview that the producers plan to end it after it hits 21...
Lame joke is win
@deepincoma lol you're right about that
It sounds better this way
@finalfantasy8911 my friend is a He and the only battle I have see (to have an esper) is Alexander, My friend have restart the one time. (sorry, my bad english) the last esper is SPOILER*** Vanille ***SPOILER.
Final Fantasy XIII for Gameboy Advance! :)
@finalfantasy8911 My friend have found all the espers for all character with no Guide, I have only see Alexander (for Hope?)
HOLY FUCKING SHIT THIS SONG KICKS ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why is the key raised by a half-step in each of these tracks?
copyright possibly?
Do Saber's Edge with the FFVI remix!
This is... great.
FINAL FANTASY VI REMAKE!!!
@BagiClaymations Will it please you to know that I have a copy of Final Fantasy III on my SNES?
@CakeJarey I see, 12 had a very steep learning curve. So steep it nearly made me want to get rid of the game. then I learned those spider things were weak to ICE. Then many games overz still happenz. :)
I found FF 12 to have a very detailed story and vast world but I found Exploration was just tedious as the world was so huge but hardly gave any reward for it. I also hated the fact that it took me about 15hrs to unlock most/all abilities but I guess, Because I played it without gambits, there wasn't a lot for me to unlock. but FF9, Legend!!
@CakeJarey what was lame? it was pretty funny

@coreykun667 Most of the people i know didn't, somehow.
FF6 is my favorite series of final fantasy. Even though the graphics are bad, the story is the best
@CakeJarey yes... yes it was but also funny
Damn, now I'm expecting Sprite versions of Lightning, Snow and Hope to come out and start kicking butt sprite-style xD
@GarlandFraser i heard neir got bad scores cause of its combat
Can you do a Vice versa? Where FFVI music is remade with the FFXIII Sounds Engine?
Just curious, but what do you think of FFXIII-2's music?
The only thing that pretty much pisses me off is that all you hear when people talk about this game is "It doesnt feel like Final Fantasy" Seems some FFVII Fanboys still dont understand that a videogame series HAS to change and move on, especially when it's spawned XIII titles (not counting Tactics etc.). If the series always stayed the same from I - XIII, people would rant about how boring it is ;)
clearly the same with the ones who played 7
Wow.... why does this sound so familiar to me, when I never seen or touched FFXIII.
@xaeqw How do you feel about Barret?
@silvershot970 indeed
who remembers how difficult it was to get 100% on ffx2 without a stratagy guide, it preety much put me off the games ever since.
@CakeJarey
I agree....I loved FFXIII
But FF12 was one of the worst games ever.....so I am happy the series has improved a lot with 13 compared to 12. With versus 13 hopefully it will improve more
This makes me wonder what VI music would sound like with the technology we have today. 'know what I mean?
@Macdaddy487 ok!
either to me is better than a story book fantasy of children warping to the world of make believe book...you dont even get to ride on the back of a luck dragon, if -I- ever got sucked into a make believe book I would ATLEAST want a damned luck dragon!

Its the original final fantasy tactics, to a point FFT Advance, is...i just horrible...I couldnt play it, was impossible for me to dumb down to its level in terms of story, plot mechanics, game playability...
Download link please! er could u please try to make the crappy* parts a bit better? it would sound epic when you could try that please?
@xaeqw Dammit...
@CakeJarey Mother 2 and 3 FTW! =P lmao
FFVI is the best final fantasy they've made, now consider the ff7 was originally planned for the n64 and a very bad clone of 6. Ever since the sift to 3d, the charm (and story/plot) kinda went out the window.
@VShalak Whoa i never compared at all, I referenced it, I never have even played TWEWY so chill out dude lol
@BagiClaymations You're kidding, right? Can I slap these people for not even knowing it exists even though it's in a damn series? ಠ_ಠ People these days...
@AgitatedCookies Then your not very far into the game, my friend
Is there anything this engine can't do?
LOL Funny !
Final Fantasy VI still kicks your ass.
It's rated to No. 1 Best RPG of ALL TIME IGN
While I will admit, The early parts were on rails and it sucked, I'd have to say that XIII had one of the best postgames in the series, those later fights did require you to put some effort and strategy into the fights.

@LucasHorclox Just like North Dakota. :3
(Lame joke referencing a show)
@CakeJarey thats where ur wrong. FF13 was definitely NOT better than FF12. FF12 was the 2nd best FF, rite next to 7, imo
