Over the past 3 years I fly wizz 2 times a week on average. About 85 percent of my flights are on time and go well. And considering I usually pay something like 20-25 eur for a flight and I sit in a brand new a321 neo... it would really be unfair to say that they are bad, let alone worst. ...

Man come on, when you are paying 15€ for a flight you can’t have any expectations. You get what you pay for, simple as that. Ryanair managed to make air travel accessible to literally everyone and I respect them for that. I work in aviation by the way (not Ryanair)
Also the cabin is so dirty because they don’t pay for airport cleaning service, the cleaning is being done by the flight attendants in a very limited time.

For me WIZZ air is always a life saver, it has much cheaper and reliable tickets, it's much friendlier and if you wanted to you could pay 35 euros for a 5 hour flight. Crazy right. The seats are also brand new and pretty comfortable, and the cabin crew is really friendly. Even Ryanair doesn't deserve it, honestly it's not that bad. Plus, would you rather spend 200 euros for a 2h one way flight?

As long as you look into Wizzair's guidelines, it's a decent experience. I took two flights with Wizzair, both impressed me for a budget airline. One from Paris to Rome that was delayed 5 hours due to protests. The airline could've easily canceled the flight from Orly, but instead offered us a bus trip to Beauvais an hour away in order for us to still take our flight. We made it to Rome without a hiccup. My other trip from Rome to Barcelona was on time and had no issues.

I just flew with RA two weeks ago. I didn't worry or get anxious at the gate about the weight of my carry on because...I made sure it was under 10kg. Yeah I know, I'm a genius. Most of those that rubbish RA are those who get caught out by not following the instructions. You don't have to opt for any of the add ons. For a two-hour flight in Europe who needs to eat on the plane? Who needs a great seat? It's a bus that flies. I've flown RA lots of times, and I've never had a single problem. Yet you regularly see shock-horror stories in the UK gutter press about poor dears who fail to print their ticket (get the app and have it scanned if you are living in 2023) and get charged £50. It's not difficult. I'm over 60 years old and I can handle the tech.

I have flown both and both are great. I've been a quarter ways around the globe for a £12 ryanair ticket (same price as a 30 mile train ticket here) UK to the canary islands with 3 of my friends, it's great. Ryanairs new 737s and the new airbus A320s of wizz air feel fairly high quality and comfortable.
You have to play the airline's game a bit, buy either early or last minute, check for the cheapest tickets, don't be annoyed at arriving at a smaller airport, have an open mind and go to some random city you have never heard of for a £20 flight and £15 a night apartment with everything you need in a small backpack.
The bad reviews are usually from older grumpy people who expect the silver service of British airways first class - but on a shoestring budget. Ryanair is my favourite airline just because I know I wouldn't have been able to afford any of the amazing trips I have been on if they hadn't been so cheap.

I fly with Ryanair very frequently, never have a problem. Booking is easy, there are no hidden fees, just take your time with the booking. Don't pay for priority, waste of time in my opinion. Bring your own food for the flight and before you leave make sure your baggage isn't overweight, then you should have no problems or have to pay any extra. As regards to boarding on the back or front, it is mentioned on your boarding pass, I can't undertand how that was missed in this video. Sure the seats aren't built for comfort but what do you expect for a budget short haul airline? Also I'm 5'9, leg room isn't so bad and I can have my rucksack on the floor as well. I feel like your experience is somewhat hampered by the fact that European low cost is quite different to US low cost. I personally have flown Ryanair a lot, and have found them to be great every time. Never had any big delays, maximum has been like 1hr 30mins but this is not often. And also I don’t think any of their fees are necessarily hidden, they just have an awful lot of extra fees, but you can choose which ones to have, and if you read the small print then you shouldn’t have a problem. As for the cleaning, they don’t really clean them at all which again is common on most European low cost airlines. They clean them properly at the end of the day hence why I try to get the first flight of the day out lol. They have a target turnaround time of 25 mins, cleaning? Ain’t nobody got time for that 😂. I’ve flown wizz a handful of times, most flights were delayed but other than that okay. But I avoid them for the mere reason I HATE HATE HATE Luton 😂😂 whereas Ryanair I can get flights from Stansted which is so much nicer

I'd heard horror stories about Luton but I've now flown from there to Warsaw a few times and am yet to see what the trouble is 😂 Only issue I've had at Luton was on one return flight waiting for baggage claim while the ground crew were striking, that did take about a couple of hours and meant ultimately hitting my train from Liverpool St - Norwich during the peak period when I had an off peak ticket. Luckily since GA were also striking that day and running a reduced service, they didn't have any restrictions on off peak tickets being used on peak trains so dodged a bullet there 😂

@@George1789 When you go for training with cabin crew its not just as simple as just going into a job and they train you as you work, you have to study how to deal with first aid responses from small cuts and how to identify what type of bleed it is to preforming CPR and using the onboard defibrillator in case of cardiac arrests. How to deal with pregnant women from miscarriages to labour to assisting with birth and the delivery of the baby. Our role as cabin crew medically is quite extensive and covers a lot of our training and i know for Ryanair specifically from my past experience of working there the pass mark for all exams is 90% they do tell us that no matter how much you train though some may never be able to handle the situation as well as others and that's just part of the human condition as well as some who have become too comfortable in the norm become caught off guard when situations arise. Panic attacks we try assess what is the matter and if they have experienced this before, give the passenger some breathing space turn on the air vent offer some water and in extreme cases sometimes we administer oxygen in the galley to help calm them down. Panic attacks are quite tricky as often there is nothing much you can really do but offer a comforting presence and promote their recovery.

Both ryanair and wizzair provides information on electronic boarding card which door to choose while boarding. I find their mobile apps to be much better than apps of other "regular" airlines that Ive flown.
"Rough landing", well most passengers dont understand this but good landing is when plane touches down inside runway's touch down zone and it is ok to be rough (from safety point of view). Better to land hard in that zone than smooth somewhere in the middle of runway and not be able to stop before end of the runway. Also during wet conditions smooth landing can cause aquaplaning. Training and operating procedures standards are very high in both airlines although highly based on automation.

The fares are usually extremely cheap, but you have to comply with their admittedly unusual guidelines. Entitled people who feel like they deserve to be treated like a celebrity on a 10€ flight and not comply with the rules usually end up paying high fees, benefiting everyone else by allowing Ryanair to charge low fares and still turn a profit. • @cigmorfil4101

The cancellations are likely due to risk analysis.
The low cost airlines need their planes to be flying for as much of the time as possible. They schedule the planes for a whole day's work. If a plane gets damaged it has a knock on effect on all the flights it would be doing afterwards.
It was quite interesting earlier this year using flightradar24 to watch the plane on which I would be flying doing its outbound from one airport, its return flight to that airport, then inbound flight to where I was, before becoming my flight home to that airport, whilst we were awaiting our airport transfer from our hotel (I tracked it by looking at the scheduled departures and likely previous arrival).

Hey Eric, just wondering if you could compare Australia’s best airline and worst airline, for me when I went to Australia I had a bad experience with Jetstar, but had a amazing experience with Qantas. Hope this could be a video plan. 💀💀💀

Not really sure why you're calling them hidden fees. Having flown both, i had no problem understanding what was included in each fare tier. Also, forward or rear boarding has always been indicated on my boarding pass.

i can attest to ryanair's rough landing. went to spain this summer with ryanair, and when landing, it felt like the captain smashed the plane down to the ground, i actually moved up in my seat from impact. no slowing down, no slow descent, it was honestly very scary. i have the landing video, and i can hear people gasping and screaming when landing.

There are many reasons why an aircraft is put down hard. Almost all legitimate reasons.
This type of criticism is rarely valid. I have flown 140 flights with Ryanair AND work in aviation at an airport so I know what I'm talking about.

@tortozza Flight operations and crew support. And a weight and balance qualified load master on 747s. And your experience and exposure to aviation is what? I take it you are in aviation too but I'm guessing not a pilot either. Maybe involved in maintenance/ tech support?
I learn a lot of what I know off pilots. I've spent a lot of time over the last 15 years with pilots waiting for aircraft to arrive and we chat about all sorts of stuff. Landings being one of them.
What's your problem? I share some knowledge and you get the arse with me. You suggest I've got an attitude. Seems that's coming more from your side. And after looking through other answers, some of the factors have already been covered.

My reviews compared: mom + dad bookings since I’m 13
    0:54- for us, that’s normal
2:29- wth is wrong. That’s so normal (for us)
3:10- it’s only in specific airport I’m pretty sure cuz those security scanners are expensive
6:40- why would they have PADDED HEADRESTS?! It’s not a long haul flight 😂
    6:59 - that’s fair enough. I don’t really have a problem since im not 5ft8
7:09- WHY WOULD IT PULL OUT!? It’s a short haul flight 😂
8:35 - I can agree the landings are quite rough, but I’m used to it so it’s ok
That’s my opinions. I do not wish to be rude or anything here. I found this video very entertaining to watch. I’m not going to do the same to the wizzair one since I’ve never been on one.

I see you're using the "It's a short haul fight" argument a lot. A lot of things that European airlines (including full service carriers) only offer on long haul, are the norm even on short haul in the rest of the world. The ultra-slim seats you see on most short haul aircraft on European airlines (including the legacy carriers) are only found on ULCCs in other regions. While that might not be a big deal for a short flight, the likes of BA, Lufthansa, and Swiss, use those same aircraft with no adjustable headrests, fixed recline, 29-30 inch pitch, and no IFE whatsoever, on 5+ hour sectors to countries like Jordan and Egypt.

Ryanair are by some margin Europe's largest airline by passenger numbers, of course there will be complaints . Ryanair led the way to provide cheap affordable air travel for everyone To do this, they compete by being more efficient than others, this is achieved by high load factors and quick turnaround. They offer a low cost no frills flight with certain rules to drive efficiency. When you decide those rules shouldn't apply to you then you will obviously pay more. If you need luxury then you can fly first class on one of the few remaining legacy airlines for about 15 to 20 times the cost of a Ryanair flight. If you stay in a budget hotel the you can't really complain that it isn't 5 star, if you drive a cheap car you can't complain that it doesn't have a Bose audio system and that the suspension is a little harsh. Some people need a dose of reality Ryanair does exactly what it says on the tin, no more,no less.

Hi Eric, I like your channel a lot! However, as a Dutchman currently traveling in Canada I think it is fair to say that comparing Ryanair and WizzAir to Canadian standards (with a proper low-cost carrier missing, except for Flair/Lynx - both relatively low in market share) is not fair. The airfare is waaaay lower. If you decide to fly with just a backpack, flying Ryanair or WizzAir can be cheaper than scoring a breakfast here in Canada (Calgary).
Their business model is to fly into B-airport or far (nearly separate) terminals at A-airports. The base fare is extremely cheap, and you pay for the add-ons. IF you compare a 'full' ticket (with lots of add-ons like checked luggage, hand luggage, and seat selection) with more premium carriers, choosing a premier carrier could be as beneficial and more comfortable. However, if you travel lightly (just a backpack, for example) and have a short flight (1/2/3 hrs), I would definitely be open to paying a bit less.
Haven't had any issues with both of them. Just follow their strict (luggage) rules, and you should be fine.
Keep doing more European airlines! KLM or Transavia ;)
For Ryanair/Wizzair; buying an isle seat will do the trick

    • @A_Canadian_In_Poland
      @A_Canadian_In_Poland Год назад

It is also because in Canada, airports are under exclusive federal jurisdiction, may not receive any subsidy from a local government (how Ryanair often negotiates low fees or even indirect subsidies), and since 1995 are mandated to run a revenue-neutral operation. This means that there is a ~$20 fee that goes to the airport and a ~$8 security screening fee that is a fixed amount irrespective of airline.
