Ngl, seems the Iron sultanate could be the 2nd bastion of humanity if New anthioc falls.
Also is this only me missing something, but militarily speaking seems the Sultan's army is way more prepared and organized with specialist and all.
Well the principality is just a melting pot of cultures and combat doctrines, and the trench pilgrims, are a bit insane.

Fun fact ~ Gork and mork from 40k who are the ork gods and the orks themselves were kinda a reference to the muslim creatures in the Quran Gok and Mgok who will devour everything during the end of days leaving nothing left for the war torn humans of that age, they are huge hulking creatures who are very hard to kill and reproduce like crazy, sounds familiar?
The fact that these people fight against hell itself, right in front of their eyes and undeniable, I bet it is very easy to convince them that heavenly paradise awaits them once they die for the cause.
I doubt that is what actually happens to you though in this setting, but at least it should raise morale.
Yes but consider that in this setting, Heaven and God are very much real. So, this could actually be what happens to them when they die fighting against evil.

As a turk, I love this but some of the names could change for example "yüzbaşı" could be change to something like "ağa" for example yüzbaşı is a late Ottoman army name for captain
I think that’s what they’re going for. This whole game/story is essentially a timeline. Where all progress in terms of culture in religious aspect was halted due to the war against hell. So it makes sense that a lot of old world terms are used to define these modern day units. At least that’s my guess
@ashyashy1018 yüzbaşı is a new term. In older times, they used different names like ocakbaşı or ocakreisi or something like that

Are there going to be any other religious factions besides Muslims and Christians? And where can I find lore/updates?
There are mentions of things like Hebrew Knights in the lore, but rules and models will need to be somewhat limited at the start of any new game.
@@scannerbarklyI assume they are in the works. But given the current social climate I doubt anything will be revealed soon. But if I were to guess they would be a smaller faction driven to take back their homeland lost in 1099.
Would be cool to see Hindu and Buddhist factions.
@@im_aleey it would certainly be interesting to see what spin they would give the Buddhists given their pacifistic nature being confronted with the fact that literal demons are running rampant. If I ever get into this game the Sultanate is likely to be my faction.
the geo of this world confuses me, are the sultans a completely different faction or are they another force at Antioch, if they are from Turkey how do factions travel around if the whole world is overrun by demons
It looks like they're akin to the Seljuk Turks combined with Ottomans. Because I heard Rum somewhere.
I think Constantinople never fell, so they probably controlled eastern Anatolia before the fall on Antioch.
The No Man's Land between the Wall and the rest of Europe isn't filled with demons and heretics. Also, air and sea travel exists
@@luisa.acevedo3326 nah, it fell - the forces of hell reached the Fortress of Rijeka in what I believe is in Croatia.
And unfortunately, Mecca, Medina, and much of the Middle Eastern Peninsula has fallen to infernal forces.
Welp I found my faction! At least of the initial factions anyways! I personally would have preferred an Ayyubid vibe, more then a Seljuk one, but the fact we get this from a bunch of white dudes is fantastic! It's respectful, and well informed, while still fitting into the brutal and grim setting! No Orientalism, no modern political allegory. If they can maintain this sort of balance going forward. If/when they they expand the setting east into the steppe, and central Asia, and to the south into Africa I'll be a happy nerd!
Perhaps in future literature of this game, we will get the perspective of each of the factions of the other factions. I would like to see what the Iron Sultanate thinks of the forces of New Antioch or the trench pilgrims as well as what they think of the sultinite.

Ahh The Iron Sultanate is cool as heck! Between them and Infinity's Haqqislam Islamis getting some cool factions!
Solomonic and Goetic magics are intrinsically linked, Solomanic magic leading to the devation we call the Goetic, if Im not mistaken. So its interesting that the Sultanate use something that is the source for the derivative magic they practice in hell.
Also cool that they have alchemists and the church does not(?) As alchemy was an ancient arabic practice before being translated and brought to Europe.
I truly wonder about mecca and medinah are they part of the Sultanate or not?

I wonder which assassin is more powerful, these guys or the ones who got the pope
You mean the Death commandos?
If I had to guess I'd say the Islamic assassins are on average better, with the exception of the 3 who caused the year of the broken trinity (given that the ones who killed the pope, prophetess, and emperor were the strongest death commandos). That said, I would not be surprised if the 3 themselves were inferior to the Old Man on the Mountain, who is the most supreme assassin in all of creation.
@@MrRawrCEO now that you mentioned the existence of Old of Mountain

Sultan: if our assassin fail to slay these shaytan, then we had no choice but to called The Old Man of the Mountain

Not sure I follow the idea of the Iron Wall; some light Googling says that the wall should already be existing, so does it just kinda pop into existence when the Hellmouth opens, or was it actually built by the Sultanate?
It is considered the last great miracle in the lore, as it just kinda appeared. The lore primer describes it as "re-immerges".
@@scannerbarkly Neat! Sort of an in-between already being and coming back to reality. Thanks for the info!
It seems that Allah created it when the Gates of Jannam opened.
@@jamespage4809 Sorry for late responses but the Iron Wall might be referenced to Qur'anic lore stories of Dhul Qarnayn and the special walls built to temporarily sealing Gog and Magog (hence why the introduction mentioned Gog and Magog being released over The World being the fault of the Crusaders/Templars that made a deal with Devil and the forces of Hells)
Though it's needed to be noted that Trench Crusade lore conflating both Gog and Magog with the Shaytan demons (which is Islamic conception of Satans/Devils and evil factions of Djinn race), meanwhile the original Qur'anic lore, Gog and Magog/Yaj'uj and Maj'uj were supposed to be barbaric giants that also belongs to human race
So it's mostly accurate barring few notable details, in which Gog and Magog also put into part of Islamic Eschatology/Apocalyptic-Chronological lines, but the forces of hell are considered to be not of Muslims' responsibilities and solely put the infidels/Templar Crusaders to blame (though Iron Sultanate and its subjects are always willing to allying and helping the Christian forces to defeating the infernal forces, I mean in The Qur'an it is explicitly mentioned for Muslims to consider Christians the closest in Faithful brotherhood, so...Yeah...)
Yeah Trench Crusade is all in with the Abrahamic. Christianity, Islam, and Judaism all seem to be favored by God to some extent.
Hey I really like the faction but I feel like it could use a little more divinity. the church gets units that interface directly with the all mighty I think sultanate should too.
I think the sultinate is more of an intelligence based faction using alchemy and the main faction is the religious zealotry I think there will be another factor based on Kingdom of Solomon that uses the forces of hell against itself by binding them using rituals from the books the lesser keys and greater keys of solomon

I like the aesthetic a lot, but I'm just not sure how the sultanate can keep up militarily when a lot of their forces are using what appear to be black powder muzzle loaders. I mean hey, get enough mooks with high velocity lead balls together and you can make _something_ happen, but there can only be so many janissaries, lions and alchemists for big counterattacks. At a certain point you really need your basic troops to pull their weight, and I'm just not sure how they do that without at least a regular bolt action in their hands.
I mean maybe I'm missing something, but are they not up against heretics with straight up Browning-style machine guns? You're looking at some real mountains of azeb corpses. I guess when you have superhuman elites making up the difference you can handle such losses, but if I were a commander looking across the pond at those fellas in New Antioch and their fancy-schmancy rifles and machine guns, I'd be pretty salty next time I saw some of my azebs stuffing a fistful of sand into their jezails.
They have basically every weapon that the other factions have
Sultanate seems to be mostly defensive with small maneuverable sorties sent out into no-man's land to secure important objectives. Most of their manpower is manning the wall, not the trenches.
For the iron sultanate and islam!
love the ottoman references
14:40 Singles suffer extra in the war wow :"D
Love the flavor. Shouldnt the sultan be the caliph tho?
Unlike a caliphate, a sultanate does not have any religious authority; instead, the sultan wields political and military power over his subjects.
@vladdracula9841 i know theyre different but doesnt this sultan wield supreme religious authority in this world? From what ive read in the lore hes literally united every surviving muslim or at least the vast majority. Certainly hes the preeminent defender of the faith even if theres other muslim communities in asia or africa which remain independent. Muslim rulers have declared themselves caliphs with much weaker arguments than this sultan could make.
@vladdracula9841 tho i guess the ottoman sultans were both sultan and caliphs so maybe thats how it is here.
