And to answer your question about, why you don't get a phone AND a tablet? Because a tablet doesn't fit in my pocket and don't fold.. Until they do, this is the best balance for my personal needs and wants.. Having a bigger screen when out and about is a big plus for me, especially because I multitask quite a bit..

I'm not a fan of Apple anymore myself, but the price is a completely fake sticking point that I'm not sure why people made up. Their flagship phone is $1200, same as everyone else's. Their low-end phone is around $400, same as everyone else's. Their tablets range from $250-1100, pretty much the same as anyone else's. Their laptops are a similar price to others, spec for spec.
Apple's only more expensive overall because they hardly ever offer discounts, and because on the secondhand market they retain a lot of value from sheer force of branding, and because first-party accessories have a ludicrous markup that nobody sane would ever pay for. But the devices themselves, if you're the sort of person to always buy new, aren't any more expensive than the other high-end brands.
I'm saving money by switching to Samsung, yes. Because I'm fine with buying secondhand and waiting for sales. If I wasn't fine with those things, Apple would be the same price.
What Apple wouldn't be fine with is the software. I'm not a fan of IOS or MacOS. But price? Not a real complaint, y'all made that up

It's not as scary as you may think, at the same time it's a decision that should be wisely considered. If you can afford the phone + insurance, are tech savvy and already use your phone for productivity I can promise you won't regret it, at the same time if you do all your work/ gaming on a desktop anyways and/ or dont want to spend well above a grand + have the running costs then I'd probably just wait for the right moment.

I test this smartphone Yesterday (Oppo find n3).
I have x90pro plus and iphone 15 pro max.
And i Can tell you, the quality of camera are similar.
It has nothing to envy of the Vivo and iPhone which are in the top 10 of camera phones. ok the iPhone has the advantage of cinematic mode but apart from that, this phone offers so many possibilities.
The multitasking and a marvel, the fold and almost invisible, nothing to do with the Samsung z gold 5. I don't know what pushes you to have such a negative opinion but I can assure you that it is a truly remarkable phone. and from a price point of view we are almost at the price of an iphone 15 pro max 512, but with completely innovative and much more advanced technology. Yes, Apple will certainly release a very successful fold, but as always, 5 to 10 years later, and what do you think the price will be $3000?! 😅
And they provide 2 years warranty on the screen even you break it (1 Time only), who offer that, this not a good argument ?

Wireless charging is way overrated. Virtually everyone I know has a phone that has that feature. But how many people are actually using it? Not a lot. It looks cool. It's convenient. But it's no efficient and it's not good for the battery. IPX8 vs IPX4? I've own cell phones since 1994. During that whole time, I've gone through tons of phones. How many have been damaged due to water? One. Dropped a Nokia phone in the toilet. Stood there for a minute thinking about fishing it out of the toilet. Decided to do it. Then had to rinse it out. Hours later it wouldn't turn on. I don't need my phone to be waterproof. Splash resistant is good enough for me.

@@SofaKingA No issues with mechanism or screen. Still using factory screen protector. The hinge is a bit looser over time but still stops at any angle I want. Also it doesn't fully flat open with like 5 degrees max missing to flatness. Isn't big deal unless you lay it flat onthe table then it becomes slightly visible. The only real problems I had is some of the software updates from Samsung broke certain features and I had to wait for a fix.

Foldables doesn"t make sense. Too narrow aspect ratio screen turns into squared one, wich besides in multitasking scenario not so useful. Unless its bendable in 2 places (like letter Z) 19:9 6.5 inch screen turns into 9"+ 4:3 tablet. No duplicate cameras and screens, needs to be 5mm thick that in folded state still have manageable bulkinness.
I get it years ago at foldables first wave, why the tech companies didn't get it right?

I've already bought the Fold 5 and love it. I use it for work as my mobile workspace and backup when my desktop or internet is down. I'm able to multi-task using 5-6 apps during a business day and it works great. I use Zoom or Google Meet side by side with Chrome (CRM is web based and I use multiple tabs). I then have Gmail, Google Calendar, Excel, and Word all as floating bubbles so I can open and use them as needed. I use this for 8 hours with breaks here and there and the battery lasted all day. It's fantastic if you actually multi task and use it. If you're just going to watch YT videos and play games, it's just a waste and a flex.

I have a Fold 5 coming from a Note 20 Ultra and I have to say the smaller front screen is actually quite nice coming from how wide the N20U was so I absolutely believe when you say the Open isnt as comfortable to hold. The Fold 5 form factor gives me the best of both worlds, a phone that is easy to hold in the hands while giving me the large screen that initially bought the N20U for when I want or need it. That being said, I still think foldables are a power user product, and I have a hard time recommending them to the general public considering the price. The inner screen is barely bigger than a standard flaship when it comes to watching videos as you illustrated with the black bars comparison, and I would say foldables are best suited to creators or multi taskers where the inner screen makes mobile creative apps a bit more usable. I write music using FL studio and N track studio when I'm on the go, and the inside screen is a beast for that as I can see piano rolls and tracks much more similarly to how I see them on a desktop or laptop, but when is comes to content viewing and scrolling through social media a standard slab phone is honestly all a standard user will ever need. I do hope foldables continue gaining popularity and improving, but at the current price point, I agree it's a hard sell to most people, especially those who want top of the line cameras.

Yet still battery life on those small foldables are very bad and with my usage it will not last whole day. Yes - stupid bastards would say - you say this because you cant afford such phone, and - nope. I have s23u and for now - I will stick to it as long as I can. Foldables has half of S23u usability, quality and capabilities. let's be honest..the end user will buy the phone they wanted to buy, based on how much they are willing to fork out, and how much they like the design of the phone. Very few would actually compare diligently the performance, camera quality and speed of multiple phones to make a purchase decision, because, at the end of the day, you are only using one phone, and such comparison really doesn't add up that much to the experience of using your phone. I mean, yes, your phone can take a photo 1.3 miliseconds faster than most other phones, but how does that translate into better and more meaningful user experience in the real world? Also, there will always be other phones out there that are better, faster and take much clearer pictures than yours. Companies now are churning out phones on a monthly basis. So, comparing phones have become an exercise in futility. At the end of the day, the best way to buy a phone is based on two factors, your budget and your personal preferences.

It's the same freaking title because that's that Oppo asked them to title them. Come on, it's so obvious!... Will I ever by a foldable phone? Well, using one right now and loving it. The Fold 5's aspect ratio is a bit weird at first but I've come to appreciate it and love it. As you mentioned, when unfolded, the OnePlus has larger black bars which in ways defeats the purpose of having a large screen. Is the Open a good phone? Yes, if you want a phone the size of a regular phone. Other than that, everything else seems worse. The best foldable on the market? Not. Even. Close! I welcome them to the US market as I hope it will push Samsung to do better. I do hope the 6 will be slightly wider (stick the pen inside, Sammy!) and maybe slightly thinner.

Funny how most users don't even use more than 20% of a smartphone capabilities at once yet then need two phone (plus extra charges) stuck together. Even the greatest phone captures just flat images on a common users hand. Unedited and less detailed, so why bother so much on a phone?

It's not the first phone. This is the third iteration by Oppo. In your terms: There was Oppo N One! Two! and this is the third. That's either some skewed comment or purely you don't know your shit.

How is multitasking on the Xiaomi folds? I'm in love with the hardware for quite some time now but I couldn't live without proper splitscreening and resizing apps into windows.

    • @emanuel_antohe
      @emanuel_antohe 11 месяцев назад

@@Terrorbrot splitscreen is alright but software optimisation is a weak spot for the experience - compared with my 2 years on Samsung's Fold.
More joy of daily use and excitment with the design improvements, still stoked a month later even though i get bored quite fast with tech.
Another plus is the upcoming HyperOS which hopefully will close the gap between the two eco systems mentioned before so if Xiaomi will do with software what they did with hardware and design will easily outsell Samsung's top of the line foldable with this product.
Other than that a superb product 16gb ram 1Tb storage FiberCarbon back from the factory with a substantial difference of price in consumer favor so def a yes as a go to.

Honestly, the price shouldn't be *much* of a factor if you're in a first-world country. If you want a fold badly enough, just look for the right sales and break up the price over 24 months and you can reasonably get a fold for under $50 a month - totally manageable if you decide you want it.
Now, is the extra utility of a fold worth not having the extra money for something else, and the durability concerns folds come with, and the handful of things a fold has worse than a standard flagship slab? Honestly, for most people, probably not. But I'm loving my Z Fold 4, which I got secondhand for $625 earlier this month. If it winds up suddenly failing before I'm ready to upgrade, as folds sometimes do, lesson learned and I'll trade in for an S24 Ultra - but in the meantime, it's awesome. Those black bars on videos are pretty much _only_ on videos, in most apps and websites extra screen space=extra good.

The Oneplus open it's a 3rd generation of the Oppo find N fold 😊
For me to buy a foldable I'm taking this:
    -a panoramic unfolded screen
    -good autonomy
    -good price - less than 1000 coins😊

Does RUclips work well on the Oneplus Open? The square display makes videos have bigger black bars. And the video size isn’t bigger than a regular phone which defeats the purpose of having a bigger screen

Won’t buy one until UTG gets to a point where is flexible enough to fold while retaining its rigidity when unfolded. Perhaps the solution will require some sort of current induced hardening mechanism.
